The goal of this paper is to describe an advanced method of a crack detection: a new way to localize position and to estimate depth of a crack on rotating shaft. As a first step, the shaft is physically modelled with a finite element method and the dynamic mathematical model is derived using the Hamilton principle; thus, the system is represented by various subsystems. The equations of motion of the shaft with a crack are established by adapting the local stiffness change through breathing and gaping from the crack to an undamaged shaft. This is the reference system for the given system. Based on a model for transient behavior induced from vibration measured at the bearings, a nonlinear state observer is designed to detect cracks on the shaft. This is the elementary NL-observer (Beo). Using the observer, an Estimator (Observer Bank) is established and arranged at the certain position on the shaft. When a crack position is localized, the procedure for estimating of the depth is engaged.
In this paper, a low cost magnetic position sensor for linear position detection is proposed. The proposed magnetic sensor can be applied to the linear motor which has stator with periodical teeth, such as transverse flux linear motor(TFLM). Sine and cosine waves can be generated from the unit sensor module as the linear motor moves, and the outputs can be converted to the position data by interpolation IC. To reduce the speed ripple caused by the position error, the Luenberg observer is introduced. The validity of the proposed magnetic position sensor is verified by experiment with a 750N three-phase TFLM.
Gaze detection is to find out the position on a monitor screen where a user is looking at, using the computer vision processing. This System can help the handicapped to use a computer, substitute a touch screen which is expensive, and navigate the virtual reality. There are basically two main types of the study of gaze detection. The first is to find out the location by face movement, and the second is by eye movement. In the gaze detection by eye movement, we find out the position with special devices, or the methode of image processing. In this paper, we detect not the iris but the pupil from the image captured by Head-Mounted Camera with infra-red light, and accurately locate the position where a user looking at by A(fine Transform.
This paper presents a simplified analysis on the rotor position detection error in sensorless interior permanent magnet brushless DC motor (BLDCM) drives, wherein terminal voltage sensing based on the back-electromotive force (back-EMF) zero-crossing point detecting circuitry is employed. The effect of a rotor saliency on the back-EMF's zero-crossing point detection is analyzed using the extended EMF-based voltage equation of the interior permanent BLDCM in a stationary reference frame, and thus the overall analysis is considerably simplified compared to the conventional one. Simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In this paper, we proposed pole position detection system for providing exact location information to users. The proposed system consists of pole recognition part and pole number recognition part. Above all, exact pole recognition is carried out by PDD(Pole Detection Device). And recognition of pole number is performed by PID(Pole Inspection Device). Acquired image by using line scan camera is judged whether it is free bracket or not through image processing. When it is judged as free bracket, pole number image is acquired by OCR camera and recognized by OCR. By recognizing pole number, exact location information is provided to user.
Gas turbines are extensively used in flight propulsion, electrical power generation, and other industrial applications. During its life span, a turbine blade is taken out periodically for repair and maintenance. This includes re-coating the blade surface and re-drilling the cooling holes/channels. A successful laser re-drilling requires the measurement of a hole within the accuracy of ${\pm}0.15mm$ in position and ${\pm}3^{\circ}$ in orientation. Detection of gas turbine blade/vane cooling hole position and orientation thus becomes a very important step for the vane/blade repair process. The industry is in urgent need of an automated system to fulfill the above task. This paper proposes approaches and algorithms to detect the cooling hole position and orientation by using a vision system mounted on a robot arm. The channel orientation is determined based on the alignment of the vision system with the channel axis. The opening position of the channel is the intersection between the channel axis and the surface around the channel opening. Experimental results have indicated that the concept of cooling hole identification is feasible. It has been shown that the reproducible detection of cooling channel position is with +/- 0.15mm accuracy and cooling channel orientation is with +/$-\;3^{\circ}$ with the current test conditions. Average processing time to search and identify channel position and orientation is less than 1 minute.
In order to minimize casualties from marine vessel accidents that occur frequently at home and abroad, it is important to ensure the safety of the passengers aboard the vessel in the event of an accident. There is an EPIRB system as a system for disaster preparedness in the marine situation currently on the market, but there is a problem that the price is very expensive. In order to overcome the cost problem, which is a disadvantage of previous system, LoRaWAN-based communication is used. LoRaWAN communication-based vessel positioning and risk detection system based on LoRaWAN communication transmits measurement data of each module using two Beacon and GPS modules to stably perform position measurement for both indoor and outdoor situations. The rider danger situation detection system can detect the safety status of the rider using the 3-axis acceleration sensor, collect data from the rider positioning system and the rider safety status detection system, and send to server using LoRa communication. When conducting communication experiments in the long-distance maritime situation and actual communication experiments using the implemented system, it was found that the two experiments showed over 90% communication success rate on average.
Accurate and reliable tracking system is essential for the central train control system. There are two systems widely being used. one is the fixed block system which utilizes the track circuit for the detection of train position. the other is the moving block system which has the advantage over the former since it enables shorter radio signal for the train position detection. In this paper a new algorithm is proposed which uses signal's phase difference of arrival to detect the train position. Experimental verification of the algorithm is presented in the paper.
This paper proposed new techniques of rotor position detection for 8/6 pole Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). This technique is very simple and easy to find out rotor position. The main idea uses the impulse responses which have different values between aligned and unaligned rotor position. In order to obtain the informations of the rotor position, the impulse applied to the unenergized phases and their responses are analyzed to control the speed of SRM without shaft sensor. Experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed method.
