A new positioning mechanism with Parallel type actuator using piezoelectric material and with dual type actuators using voice coil motor (VCM) and piezoactuator is proposed for optical disk drive or near-field recording type drive, and high speed position and vibration control are investigated. Parallel type bimorph piezoactuator is used as a fine motion actuator with self-sensing technique, which allows a piezoelectric material to concurrently sense and actuate in a closed loop frame work, and positive position feedback control algorithm is adopted to further control residual vibration. For positioning control of VCM, PID control algorithm is adopted.

As a stringing troy wire is installed by manual operation, it is necessary to scheme the automatic system for stringing troy wire. To accomplish a task of this kind, in this paper an approach to designing controllers for the hybrid Position/Tension control of a stringing troy wire is presented. Position control system is designed based on equation of dc motor and motion equation of robot, it is controlled by feedback with a detected speed dc motor. Tension control system is designed based on equation of ac servomotor for generating torque and dynamic equation of a troy wire, it is controled by feedback with a detected tension. The control parameters is determined by simulation in independence operation of each system. To suppress a mutual interference that the disturbance occur in operating of two task at same time. Dynamic hybrid control is proposed by feed forward compensator with a disturbance accelerator and a step torque at start. The operation of proposed system is simulated and experimented, results is verified the utilities.

Tutorial contents of kinematics and dynamics of a wheeled drive mobile robot are presented. Based on the dynamic model, simulation studies of position tracking of a mobile robot are performed. The control structure of several position control algorithms using visual feedback are proposed and their performances are compared. In order to compensate for uncertainties from unknown dynamics and ignored dynamic effects such as slip conditions, neural network based position control schemes are proposed. Experiments are conducted and the results show the performance of the vision based neural network control scheme fumed out to be the best among several proposed schemes.

In this study, a position control algorithm for an omni-directional mobile robot based on Mecanum wheels was introduced and experimentally evaluated. Multiple ultrasonic sensors were installed around the mobile robot to obtain position feedback. Using the distance of the robot from the wall, the position and orientation of the mobile robot were calculated. In accordance with the omni-directional velocity generation mechanism, the velocity kinematics between the Mecanum wheel and the mobile platform were determined. Based on this formulation, a simple and intuitive position control algorithm was suggested. To evaluate the control algorithm, a test bed composed of artificial walls was designed and implemented. While conventional control algorithms based on normal wheels require additional path planning for two-dimensional planar motion, the omni-directional mobile robot using distance sensors was able to directly follow target positions with the simple proposed position feedback algorithm.
In teleoperating, as seeing the monitor screen obtained from a camera instituted in the working environment, human operator generally controls the slave arm. Because we can see only 2-D image in a monitor, human operator does not know the depth information and can not work with high accuracy. In this paper, we proposed a traded control method using an visual sensor for the purpose of solving this problem. We can control a teleoperation system with precision when we use the proposed algorithm. Not only a human operator command but also an autonomous visual sensor feedback command is given to a slave arm for the purpose of coincidence current image features and target image features. When the slave arm place in a distant place from the target position, human operator can know very well the difference between the desired image features and the current image features, but calculated visual sensor command have big errors. And when the slave arm is near the target position, the state of affairs is changed conversely. With this visual sensor feedback, human does not need coincide the detail difference between the desired image features and the current image features and proposed method can work with higher accuracy than other method without, sensor feedback. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through series of experiments.
As a functional material, shape memory alloy (SMA) has attracted much attention and research effort to explore its unique properties and its applications in the past few decades. Some of its properties, in particular the electrical resistance (ER) based self-sensing property of SMA, have not been fully studied. Electrical resistance of an SMA wire varies during its phase transformation. This variation is an inherent property of the SMA wire, although it is highly nonlinear with hysteresis. The relationship between the displacement and the electrical resistance of an SMA wire is deterministic and repeatable to some degree, therefore enabling the self-sensing ability of the SMA. The potential of this self-sensing ability has not received sufficient exploration so far, and even the previous studies in literature lack generality. This paper concerns the utilization of the self-sensing property of a spring-biased Nickel-Titanium (Nitinol) SMA actuator for two applications: ER feedback position control of an SMA actuator without a position sensor, and estimation of the opening of a SMA actuated valve. The use of the self-sensing property eliminates the need for a position sensor, therefore reducing the cost and size of an SMA actuator assembly. Two experimental apparatuses are fabricated to facilitate the two proposed applications, respectively. Based on open-loop testing results, the curve fitting technique is used to represent the nonlinear relationships between the displacement and the electrical resistance of the two SMA wire actuators. Using the mathematical models of the two SMA actuators, respectively, a proportional plus derivative controller is designed for control of the SMA wire actuator using only electrical resistance feedback. Consequently, the opening of the SMA actuated valve can be estimated without using an extra sensor.
Conventional DLLs estimate the delay times of satellite signals individually and feed back these measurements to the VCO independently. But VDLL estimates delay times and user position directly and then estimate the feedback term for VCO using the estimated position changes. In this process, input measurements are treated as vectors and these vectors are used for navigation. First advantage of VDLL is that noise is reduced in all of the tracking channels making them less likely to enter the nonlinear region and fall below threshold. Second is that VDLL can operate successfully when the conventional independent parallel DLL approach fails completely. It means that VDLL receiver can get enough total signal power to track successfully to obtain accurate position estimates under the same conditions where the signal strength from each individual satellite is so low or week that none of the individual scalar DLL can remain in lock when operating independently. To operate VDLL successfully, it needs to know the initial user dynamics and position and prevents total system from the divergence. The suggested integration method is to use the inertial navigation system to provide initial dynamics for VDLL and to maintain total system stable. We designed the GPS/INS integrated navigation system. This new type of integrated system contained the vector pseudorange format generation block, VDLL signal processing block, position estimation block and the conversion block from position change to delay time feedback term aided by INS.
The principle objective of this paper is to explain and demonstrate the advantage of the output-feedback controller proposed by Ailon in [61 by using simulation and experimental results. Namely, the goal of this study is to design and implement a real-time controller for set-point regulation of a one-link rigid robot manipulator with unknown parameters using only position measurement. For implementation a direct drive one-link rigid robot manipulator is constructed and a TMS320C40 DSP systems board is used in implementing real-time control algorithm.
In this paper, we propose a controller for the position of a cart and the angle of a pendulum. To achieve both purposes simultaneously, we divide the system into the dominant subsystem and the dominated one after partial feedback linearization. The proposed controller is composed of a nonlinear controller stabilizing the dominant subsystem and a linear quadratic controller. Using the proposed controller, the controllable region is increased by the nonlinear control part and the control input minimized by the linear control part (LQR).
This paper presents active vibration control scheme of multi-mode forced vibration using piezocetamic sensors and actuators. The control scheme adopted is the Positive Position Feedback (PPF) control. Among various vibration control techniques. PPF control technique makes use of generalized displacement measurements to accomplish the vibration suppression. Two independent controllers are implemented to control the first and the second modes of the beam under external excitation. Experimental results for various damping ratios and feedback gains of the PPF controllers are compared with respect to the contorl efficiency. The results indicate that steady state vibration under wide band excitation can be controlled effectively when multiple sets of PZT sensors and actuators were used with PPF control technique.
