  • This study's leading tourist destination in Busan Haeundae, Gwangalli, APEC Naru Park, including seven regional surveys conducted by selecting a feel for the waterfront area was investigated. As a result, only 66% of Haeundae, "the sea" seem, a 77.6 percent Gwangalli a "sea looks", APEC Naru Park, 76 percent of the "sea looks", ${\cdots}{\cdots}$ (amout of) ${\cdots}{\cdots}$.

  • The importance of utilization of ocean space is increased due to high population and narrow land space. The development of a new technology for future use of ocean space, such as a design technology of Very Large Floating Structures(VLFS) is needed. This paper introduces the rime history analysis of superstructures on very large floating structures and proposes the estimation method of time displacement history considering wave loads. The dynamic responses of superstructure according to variation of period and amplitude are analysed using an example frame structure and the dynamic structural safety of VLFS pilot superstructure is evaluated.

  • According to the recommendation of International Maritime Organization, the Ministry Of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MOMAF) of Korea provides the real time Differential Global Positioning System service using maritime radio beacon from 1999. Due to the benefit of DGPS service, the need of this system is increased from various user groups for acquiring the better accuracy and integrity. Therefore, MOMAF has extended their service to inland by installing the additional 6 DGPS stations. This nationwide DGPS service will be fully deployed at 2007. In addition to the extension of service area, MOMAF has a plan to upgrade their nationwide DGPS to High Accuracy Nationwide DGPS (HANDGPS). The planned HANDGPS service of Korea will be a kind of long range RTK or Wide Area RTK techniques to provide under 1m accuracy and start their service from 2009 using the various broadcasting and communication media like as radio beacon, Wibro, Digital Multimedia Broadcasting, High Speed Packet Data Access. The introduction of nationwide DGPS system of Korea and its evolution plan will be addressed in this paper. The research activities related with HANDGPS in Korea is also presented.

  • This study had a survey on the user opinions of the water-front in seoul Hangang Park Banpo area. The survey was carried out individual interviews in the place where it can be directly overlooked the Han-river. And the results were analyzed in percentage terms.   • In this paper, An aperture-coupled microstrip patch antenna operating at WLL frequency range(Rx : 2.3∼2.33Ghz, Tx : 2.37 ∼2.4Ghz) for WLL repeater is designed and fabricated. FR-4 epoxy substrate with 4.7 relative permittivity is inserted between feed-line and patch plane. Aperture-coupled structure is employed for consideration of bandwidth improvement and gain\`s characteristics. Air gap is arranged at each layer for bandwidth extension and radome is used as a protector in the upper patch. In this paper, both 1 port and 2 port are designed as 1$\times$2 array antenna which uses T-junction and λ$\_$g//4 transformer. Here, 1 port is used as transmitting/receiving antenna and 2 port is used as receiving antenna. Functionally independent two antennas using space diversity arrange slots between two antennas in order to be placed at the same place. As a result, we obtained a excellent isolation below -40dB and return loss is reduced by means of slots arrangement between patch and antenna.

  • The transverse ventilation system, commonly applied to urban tunnel, is necessary to be distributed with airflow uniformly. In this study, we developed a program that can optimize the opening ratio of ports to ensure ventilation performance of design criteria through a uniform airflow distribution even though ventilation interval becomes longer. And program's prediction performance was verified by comparison with TUNVEN DUCT program. For comparison, Semi-transverse ventilation system was applied. Both programs predicted a similar port size and air flow distribution, and the variation range of the calculated values was 11.71% and 1.36%, respectively. This program is very useful for port optimization design of transverse and semi-transverse ventilation system, because it is possible to analyze various tunnel lengths and supply/exhaust port installation conditions.

  • It is possible for a volume of fluid to become trapped in the space between two adjoining teeth ad the tips of the teeth engage in Gear Pump with involute teeth. This trapped fluid leads to several harmful results, for example fluctuating pressure and aeration of pump. In this study, hence, theoretical and experimental analyses on this 'Trapping' were accomplished as using relief port(or escape port), one of the means for avoid it. Also, the grasp and analysis on variational type of the internal pressure in parallel with above experiments are achieved so that hydrodynamic behaviors in pump were contemplated.

  • This study aims at advancing waterfront planning and development of North Harbor of Pusan and attempting to establish an identity through the analysis and case studies of waterfront development of foreign countries. This study is based on Pusan urban harbor plan and the case study which was investigated the relational port with an urban area to find a model of development method and procedure of urban waterfront renewal, The approach of this study is to classify diversified cases and to suggest elements after reviewing successful cases. The point in the waterfront development plan of North Harbor of Pusan is how to secure an amenity on the edge and provides a comprehensive theoretical base such as skyline, coastline, green area, accessibility, scenery, landmark, open space, and so on. The result of this study is useful for the planner to develop more and systematic approaches which could utilize waterfront. Waterfront development will be a new chance of urban development for Pusan.

Experimental study on characteristic of sloshing impact load in elastic tank with low and partial filling under rolling coupled pitching

  • A series of experiments covering lowest three natural frequencies of rolling coupled pitching were conducted to investigate liquid sloshing with low liquid depth. The test results show that the most violent liquid sloshing in rolling and pitching is located in the vicinity of the first order natural frequency (f1). When the excitation frequency of rolling and pitching is located between 0.98f1 and 1.113f1, roof-bursting phenomenon of liquid appeared, and the maximum impact pressure is at 1.09f1. When the external excitation frequency is at 1.113f1, the number of sloshing shocks decreases sharply. Furthermore, the space distribution of the impact pressure on the left bulkhead and the top bulkhead was analyzed. It is concluded that with low liquid filling, the impact load is greater near the free surface and the top of tank, and the impact position of the side bulkhead increases with the increasing of the frequency near the resonant frequency.
