The steel cargoes as the core raw materials for the manufacturing industry have important roles for increasing the handling volume of the port. In particular, steel cargoes are fundamental to vitalize Port of Incheon because they have recognized as the primary key cargo items among the bulk cargoes. In this respect, the IPA(Incheon Port Authority) ambitiously developed the port complex facilities including dedicated terminals and its hinterland in northern part of Incheon. However, these complex area has suffered from low cargo handling records and has faced operational difficulties due to decreased net profits. In general, the import and export steel cargo volumes are sensitively fluctuated followed by internal and external economy index. There is a scant of research for forecasting the steel cargo volume in Incheon port which used in various economy index. To fill the research gap, the aim of this research is to predict the steel cargoes of Port of Incheon using the well established methodology i.e. System Dynamics. As a result, steel cargoes volume dealt with in Incheon port is forecasted from about 8 million tons to about 10 million tons during simulation duration (2011-2020). The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) is measured as 0.0013 which verifies the model's accuracy.

The aim of this study draws out the Green Index of a Seaport (GIS) that is comprehensive and coordinated approach to diminish the negative impacts of port operations using a Factor Analysis (FA) which can evaluate the level of cleanness of seaport. For this purpose, the questionnaires were sent to the experts and port stake holders, and received 75 out of 100. In this survey, Cronbach's alpha has the numerical value 0.76. Thus it means that this survey has internal consistency reliability. Overall, 15 components were selected from the literature review and five factors were extracted by factor analysis.

The present study examined the effects of the factors of port service quality on customer satisfaction and surveyed customers' perception on service quality and their satisfaction with port services by comparing Incheon Port with Qingdo Port, Tianjin Port and Dalian Port. According to the results, the quality of port services can be divided into three levels-inner quality, external environment quality and interaction quality, and except the external environment quality of the Dalian Port, the three levels of service quality were found to have significant effects on customer satisfaction. In addition, according to the results of comparing customers' perception on the three levels of service quality among the ports, the Incheon Port was inferior to the Qingdo Port, the Tianjin Port and the Dalian Port in inner quality, and to the Qingdo Port and the Tianjin Port in external environment quality, but superior to the Tianjin Port and the Dalian Port in interaction quality. However, customers' satisfaction with the Incheon Port was lower than that with the Qingdo Port and the Tianjin Port.

This study is aimed at evaluating transshipment competitiveness of Incheon New Port which will open in 2013. For this reason, we used Conjoint Analysis(CA) for a methodology of this research as CA had been frequently adopted for empirical analysis of new container terminal in previous studies. We have provided the questionnaires to the stake holders of the port such as experts in Port Authority(PA), logistics companies, and terminal operators. The result showed that transshipment competitiveness of Incheon New Port was subordinate to transshipment costs and port costs of Busan and Shanghai. Overall, we hope this study could help draw up the policies on a New Port that will attract transshipment cargoes and set up marketing plan for an early settlement.

연안 수역에서의 해상교통 환경변화에 부응하고 나아가 대형 해양사고 방지와 인명사고 예방을 위해 필요한 해양기상신호표지 시스템 구축을 위하여 해양기상 관측 및 항로표지 정보제공 시스템을 도입, 통항선박에게 안전항해에 필요한 정보를 제공함으로서 해양교통 안전을 확보하고자 한다. 인천 연안의 팔미도를 포함한 15개 항로표지시설에 기상(온습도, 풍향/풍속, 기압) 및 해양(유향/유속, 수온, 파고/파향) 관측시스템을 설치하고 항로표지용 AIS (AtoN AIS) 통신시스템을 이용하여 육상 정보수집 처리서버 및 항행 선박에게 해양기상관측자료를 실시간 전송하는 시스템을 구축하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose useful suggestions by analyzing causal effect relationship between port service quality, and customer satisfaction and performance in port industry. Methods: The collected data through the survey were analyzed using multi-regression analysis. The measurement tools used for this study were divided into three dimensions such as internal quality, interaction quality and environmental quality. Results: The results of this study are as follows; regarding the influence of pot service quality dimension on customer satisfaction, it was found that the effects of interaction quality and internal quality were significant and those of environmental quality was not significant on customer satisfaction. It was found that customer satisfaction made statistically significant influence on performance from the investigation of the causal effect relationship between customer satisfaction and performance. Conclusion: Incheon Port needs to act actively paying attention to port facilities, efficient operation, network, cargo recruitment activities, smooth communication and fast handling.

The purpose of this study is to examine the causuality among export and import trading volume of port of Busan, Kwangyang, Incheon and to induce policy implications. In order to test whether time series data is stationary and the model is fitness or not, we put in operation unit root test, cointegration test. And We apply Granger causality and impulse response and variance decomposition based on VECM. The results indicate that the trading volume of port of Busan is not largely influenced by that of port of Kawangyang and Incheon, but the trading volume of port of Kawangyang and Incheon is largely influenced by other ports including port of Busan. The result suggest that government has to focus on policy that the port of Kawangyang and Incheon can raise its own competitiveness in the world market.

This study can be summarized as follows : First, main participant, procedure and method of redevelopment of Inner port shall be additionally reviewed. Demands of stakeholder of Incheon Inner Port are actively accommodated to avoid the disruption in undertaking the project. Second, it must ensure the adequacy and appropriateness of policies regarding the redevelopment of the Inner Port in Incheon. It is necessary to obtain consent of people on this project. Third, appropriate system must be established to undertake the project. For this purpose, the governance system shall be built to collect the opinions of the people. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The national master plan and modify plans of Port redevelopment have been being undertaken based on Port Act. Incheon Inner Port redevelopment has been showing slight discrepancy with that of other ports. It's the essential part to coordinate the opinions and needs between the parties prior to the establishment of a redevelopment plan. This can be settled when it's warranted for dock workers to secure the job, and for port companies to provide replaceable piers as the precondition. In addition, eco-friendly waterfront leisure space shall be planned and alternative policies shall be arranged with accommodating the needs of local residents and merchants.
