  • Tests on the fracture behavior of CFRP-concrete composite bonded interfaces have been extensively carried out. In this study, a progressive damage model is employed to simulate the fracture behaviors. The crack nucleation, propagation and more other details can be captured by these models. The numerical results indicate the fracture patterns seem to depend on the relative magnitudes of the interface cohesive strength and concrete tensile strength. The fracture pattern transits from the predominated adhesive-concrete interface debonding to the dominated concrete cohesive cracking as the interface cohesive strength changes from lower than concrete tensile strength to higher than that. The numerical results have an agreement with the experimental results.

  • This paper presents numerical studies of stiff fiber pullout behaviors of fiber reinforced cementitious composites based on a progressive damage model. The ongoing debonding process is simulated. Interfacial stress distribution for different load levels is analyzed. A parametric study, including bond strength and the homogeneity index on the pullout behaviors is carried out. The numerical results indicate that the bond stress decreases gradually from loaded end to embedded end along fiber-cement interface. The debonding initially starts from loaded end and propagates to embedded end as load increasing. The embedded length and bond strength affect the load-loaded end displacement curves significantly. The numerical results have a general agreement with the experimental investigation.

  • Generally, the Quality of a weld joint is strongly influenced by process parameters during the welding process. In order to achieve high quality welds, mathematical models that can predict the bead geometry to accomplish the desired mechanical properties of the weldment should be developed. To achieve this objectives, a sensitivity analysis has been conducted and compared the relative impact of three process parameters on bead geometry in order to verify the measurement errors on the values of the uncertainty in estimated parameters. The results obtained show that developed mathematical models can be applied to estimate the effectiveness of process parameters for a given bead geometry, and a change of process parameters affects the bead width and bead height more strongly than penetration relatively.

  • Swimming enhancing effects of ssanghwatang fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisae in mice were investigated, and then the blood biochemical parameters related to fatigue were measured. Compared to the control group, the swimming time was significantly increased in fermented ssanghwatang (FST) group from day 4 ($29.27{\pm}4.73$ vs. $50.27{\pm}9.05\;min$, p<0.05). The lactate level, an important indicator of fatigue, was drastically lower in FST group than in control group ($2.13{\pm}0.13$ vs. $1.40{\pm}0.12\;mmole/L$, p<0.01). These results suggest that FST possesses stimulatory effects which can enhance exercise performance and reduce fatigue.

  • In recent years, RFID is widely used in industrial applications including factory, material flow, logistics and defense areas. In this paper, we developed a RFID baseband system with ASK modulation and convolutional channel code. A commercial ASK RF module is used its frequency range in $350{\sim}351$MHz and power is 10mW and the convolution code is constraint length k=3 and rate R=1/2 The performance is measured implemented the binary search algorithm as anti-collision method and we show the wave shapes whit collision occurrence.

  • Recently there are increasing needs for Internet and various kinds of contents. These traffics for various contents need more amount of data to provide high-quality information and require various QoS depending on the characteristics of contents. However, current Internet service supports BE (Best Effort) service only, therefore IntServ (Integrated Service) scheme and DiffSserv (Differentiated Service) scheme are represented to support QoS in IP layer. This paper describes new scheme that provides QoS taking into account the traffic characteristics over Mobile IPv6 network based on IEEE 802.11e by decreasing signal process time using traffic class of DiffServ and evaluates the performance through computer simulation.

  • Objective: The beneficial effects of glycine were tested in piglets with diquat-induced hepatic injury. Methods: Thirty-two piglets were assigned by a 2×2 factorial experimental design including glycine supplementation and diquat challenge. After 3 weeks of feeding with a basic diet or a 1% glycine supplemented diet, piglets were challenged with diquat or saline. After 1 week later, the piglets were slaughtered and samples were collected. Results: Our results indicated that glycine alleviated diquat induced morphological hepatic injury, decreased the activities of plasma alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and glutamyl transpeptidase in the piglets under diquat challenge, and increased total antioxidant capacity and antioxidative enzyme activity significantly. Adding glycine enhanced the concentrations of hepatic adenosine triphosphate and adenosine diphosphate. Transmission electron microscope observation showed that diquat induced clear hepatocytes ferroptosis and its effect could be alleviated by glycine to a certain degree. Moreover, glycine significantly affected mRNA and protein expression of ferroptosis-related signals in the liver. Conclusion: These results demonstrated that glycine attenuated liver damage via inhibiting ferroptosis.
