유동중인 $CO_2$냉매와 오일 혼합물의 농도 예측을 위한 상관식 (Correlations of Oil Concentration Prediction during In-line Flow of $CO_2/Oil$ Mixtures)

  • In the general vapor-compression refrigeration system, refrigeration lubricant circulates in refrigeration system with refrigerant. Knowledge of the amount of circulating lubricant is very important to exactly calculate capacity of the refrigeration system. An experimental study was conducted to estimate the oil concentration of a flowing $CO_2/Oil$ mixtures. POE and PAG oil are considered as test lubricants in this study. Performance tests were conducted under simulated liquid conditions for $CO_2/POE$ oil mixture in oil concentration of 0 to 10 weight-percent and $CO_2/PAG$ oil mixture in oil concentration of 0 to 6 weight-percent in the temperature ranges of $-5^{\circ}C\;to\;15^{\circ}C$. The results obtained indicate specific gravity of $CO_2/Oil$ mixture is increased as oil concentration is increased and as temperature of mixture is decreased. Oil concentration correlation of $CO_2/POE$ oil mixture and $CO_2/PAG$ oil mixture is suggested, based on the measurement of specific gravity and temperature. This correlation enable to predict the oil concentration without extraction of the mixture and can be applied for $CO_2/POE$ mixtures and $CO_2/PAG$ mixtures.

  • In order to elucidate the lubricating mechanism of polyolester base oils [POEs], the wear characteristics of 27 kinds of polyolester base oils including mixed POEs were investigated. Their wear results were discussed in terms of the effect of molecular structure on wear performance and compared with those of mineral oil. In addition, the adsorption ability of POEs to reduced iron and their hydrolysis rates were measured and the effect of their molecular structures on the adsorptivity and hydrolysis rate of POEs was discussed, respectively. Finally, the lubricating mechanism anlyzed from these results of wear characteristics, adsorptivity and hydrolysis rate was proposed. That is to say, POEs are firstly adsorbed to friction surface and decomposed by hydrolysis or thermal degradation. Fatty acids obtained by degradation of POEs form adsorption film on friction surface. The larger become cohesive ability among fatty acid molecules in the adsorption film, the better gets the wear performance of POEs.

인쇄잉크용 로진변성 페놀수지의 분자량 분포에 관한 연구 (Molecular Weight Distribution of Rosin Modified Phenol Resin Used in Media for Printing Varnishes.)

  • Modified phenolics can have a retarding effect on the gelation of wood oil. Modified phenolic resins can be used in media for paint, varnishes, primers, overprinting varnishes, litho, letterpress and rotogravure inks. Varnishes based on rosin phenolic are faster drying, have better durability, are harder and glosser, and have greater resistance to water than ones based on ester gums. These physical properties is concerned with molecular weight distribution of rosin modified phenol resin. This paper was studied about molecular weight distribution of rosin phenolics which were prepared between $130~250^{\circ}C$. The results were as follows: 1) Average molecular weights inereased with increasing reaction temperature. 2) $M_w/M_n$ were from 3.43 to 46.44 with increasing reaction temperature and so the molecular weight distributions were changed from random distribution to broad distribution. 3) The relation ship between intrinsic viscosity and weight average molecular weight was follows: $[{\;}{\;}]={\;}1{\times}{\;}10^{-6}M_w,{\;}M_w=M_w$ 4) Esterification reaction between the acid group of rosin and polyol was started about $230^{\circ}C$$.

PEG-free 계면활성제를 사용한 Nanoemulsion의 안정화 (Stabilization of Nanoemulsion Using PEG-free Surfactant)

  • 폴리에틸렌글라이콜(PEG)은 계면활성제, 세정제, 유화제 등으로 화장품에 많이 사용된다. 이들은 제조 과정 중, ethylene oxide의 이량체화에 의해 인간에 몸에 유해한 1,4-dioxane이 부산물로 생성될 수 있다. 화장품 성분에 대한 소비자들의 관심이 증가함에 따라, 퍼스널케어 시장에서 PEG 성분이 없는 보다 안전한 에멀젼 연구의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. PEG-free 계면활성제로 사용되는 polyglycerol ester (PGE)는 비이온성 계면활성제로서 식품, 화장품 등의 분야에서 많이 사용되며 글리세롤과 지방산을 에스테르화 하여 생산된다. 본 연구에서는 PEG 성분을 함유하지 않은 나노에멀젼 제형의 개발 및 안정화를 목표로 하였다. 최적화된 나노에멀젼 제형 개발을 위해 RSM (Response Surface Methodology)를 사용하였다. 독립변수 및 변수의 범위 결정을 위한 예비 실험의 결과로 계면활성제 함량(2~4%), 오일 함량(4~8%), 폴리올 함량(12~24%)을 독립변수로 설정하였다. 반응변수로는 제형의 입자 크기(particle size), 제타 전위(zeta potential), 현탁도(turbidity), 다분산지수(polydispersity index)를 측정하였다. 제조한 나노에멀젼을 FIB (Focused ion beam)로 측정한 결과, 구형의 입자들이 100~200 nm의 크기를 가지고 분포되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 제조된 제형에 대해 30일 간 각 온도별($4^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$) 안정성 평가를 진행하였고, 최적의 입자 크기, 현탁도, 다분산지수, 제타 전위를 고려한 최적의 처방은 계면활성제(2%), 오일(8%), 폴리올(24%)로 확인되었다.
