A novel type of intelligent microcapsule reactor system was prepared. The reactor can recognize pH change in the medea and control reaction rate by itself. For the reactor system, acrylic acid (AA), N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM), and glucose oxidase (GOD) were selected as a pH-responsive device, a gating device according and a reaction device, respectively. Poly(NIPAM-co-AA) (P-NIPAM-co-AA) are known to change its hydrophilicity-hydrophobicity due to pH change. They were integrated in a core-shell microcapsule space. GOD was loaded inside the core space and the pores in the outside shell layer were filled with P-NIPAM-co-AA linear grafted chains as pH-responsive gates by plasma graft filling polymerization method. When P-NIPAM-co-AA gates are hydrophilic at high pH value, this microcapsule permits glucose penetration into the core space and GOD reaction proceeds. However, when P-NIPAM-co-AA gates are hydrophobic at low pH value, this microcapsule forbids glucose penetration and GOD reaction will not occur. The accuracy of this concept was examined.
A new gas-flow type reactor for plasma polymerization was developed to symthesize functional polymer, which enhances the reaction of radicals activated in discharge. $\alpha$-Methylstyrene was used for the polymerization, which are known as starting monomers for the polymer with degradating characteristics. The molecular structure and molecular weight distribution of the polymers were studied.
In this paper, we study on the plasma polymerized styrene as a negative electron-beam resist. Plasma polymerized thin film was prepared using an interelectrode inductively coupled gas-flow type reactor. We show that polymerization parameters of thin film affect sensitivity and etching resistance of the resist. Molecular weight distribution of plasma polymerized styrene is 1.41-3.93, and deposition rates of that are 32-383[.angs./min] with discharge power. Swelling and etching resistance becomes . more improved with increasing discharge power during plasma polymerization. Etch rate by RIE is higher than that by plasma etching.
Plasma polymerization of Perfluoropropene(PFP) was carried out in a tubular type reactor. The Plasma was generated by coupling inductively under the fixed discharge power of 25W and the pressure of 100, 140, and 200 mTorr of radio frequency generator. PFP plasma polymerization thin films were deposited in acrylic yams. For 1 hours, the acrylic yams treated and untreated by PFP plasma were immersed in boiling water. Then the reduction of contraction coefficient of acrylic yams were measured respectively. As a result of this experiment, untreated acrylic yams were reduced around 23%, while treated yams were contracted about 18-2%.
We synthesized an energetic prepolymer(glycidyl dinitro propyl formal, GDNPF) for plastic-bonded explosive and measured its thermodynamic parameters. Glycidyl dinitro propyl formal(GDNPF) as an energetic monomer was epoxidized from allyl-2,2-dinitro propyl formal which is reacted with dinitro propyl alcohol and excess allyl alcohol, and then energetic polymer of GDNPF was polymerized by cationic ring opening polymerization. Thermodynamic parameters were obtained from the ceiling temperature($T_c$) values of 1 mole monomer at reaction temperature. We varied feed rate of monomer, concentration of initiator and monomer to control molecular weight and polydispersity of prepolymer (GDNPF). The activated monomer polymerization has been executed with precisely controlled feed of GDNPF monomer to reactor in the complex state catalyst generated by $BF_3{\cdot}(C_3H_5)_2$ and 1,4-butanediol in $C_2H_4Cl_2$. Number average molecular weight(Mn), polydispersity(Pd), hydroxy number and glass transition temperature($T_g$) of prepolymer(GDNPF) were $2,500{\sim}3,000,\;1.2{\sim}1,3,\;0.6{\sim}0.8eq/kg\;and\;-20{\sim}-25^{\circ}C$ respectively.
범용 고분자 수지 중의 하나인 LLDPE(Linear low density polyethylene)도 기포 유동층 공정을 통해 전세계에서 생산되고 있다.
A two compartmented autoclave reactor for the polymerization of low density polyethylene is analyzed with respect to the effects of heat transfer and operation variables. Each compartment being considered as a completely mixed cell, two CSTRs model is proposed. The system shows various multiplicity features of steady state and periodic oscillatory motions. Heat removal efficiency and initiator supplement appear to have significant effect on the conversion of monomer with the temperature properly maintained, which should be taken into account in the reactor design.
Urushiol, a natural monomeric oil, was used to prepare a detergentless micro-emulsion with water and 2-propanol The formation of micro-emulsion was verified by conductivity measurements and dynamic light scattering. The conductivity data showed phase change dynamics, a characteristics of micro-emulsions, and subsequent dynamic light scattering study further confirmed the phenomenon. Average water droplet diameter was 10 nm to 500 nm when the molar ratio of 2-propanol ranged from 0.40 to 0.44 . Earlier studies were performed on toluene and hexane, in which the insoluble substrate in water phase was added to the solvents to be reacted on by enzymes. However, in the present urushiol system, urushiol was used as both solvent and substrate in the laccase polymerization of urushiol. The laccase activity in the system was examined using polymerization of urushiol. The laccase activity in the system was examined using syringaldezine as a substrate, and the activity increased rapidly near the molar ratio of 2-propanol at 0.4, where micro-emulsion started. The activity rose until 0.46 and fell dramatically thereafter. The study of laccase activity in differing mole fractions of 2-propanol showed the existence of an ‘optimal zone’, where the activity of laccase was significantly higher. In order to analyze urushiol polymerization by laccase, a bubble column reactor using a detergentless micro-emulsion system was constructed. Comparative study using other organic solvents systems were conducted and the 2-propanol system was shown to yield the highest polymerization level. The study of laccase activity at a differing mole fraction of 2-propanol showed the existence of an ‘optimal zone’ where the activity was significantly higher. Also, 3,000 cP viscosity was achieved in actual urushi processing, using only 1/100 level of laccase present in urushi.
