Residual Stress Analysis for Wide-band laser Heat Treatment Using Finite Element Method (유한요소법에 의한 광폭 레이저 표면경화의 잔류응력해석)

  • In this paper, the residual stresses for the wide-band laser heat treatment using a polygon mirror have been analyzed. The results of FE analysis are compared with the experimental results. ANSYS Version 5.3, a commercial FE-code, is used for the FE stress analysis. The structural analysis was performed on after thermal analysis. The residual stress distribution across the hardened area was measured by the X-ray diffraction technique. The laser hardening conditions, 2kW laser power and 2mm/s travel speed, were used for the experiment and the FE analysis. Analysis results, which is maximum tensile residual stress is about 143MPa and maximum compressive residual stress is about -380MPa. Under same parameters with the analysis, experimental results indicate that MTRS is about 152MPa and MCRS is about -312MPa. The experimental results is about 6% higher than the FE analysis. As a result, residual stress data from the experiment close well with that of the FE analysis.

A Serial-Parallel Scanner Optics for Thermal Imaging System (열상장비용 직병렬주사광학계)

  • We have designed and constructed a scanner optics for thermal imaging system operating in 8 - 12 /lfll band. The scanner consists of rotating polygon and oscillating mirror for serial-parallel scan using 5 elements SPRITE HgCdTe. A spherical mirror is used for scan relay mirror to minimize size of the scan mirrors and pupil aberration. The scanner has $40^{\circ}\times26.67^{\circ}$ wide scan field of view and the calculated diffraction MTF shows diffraction limited performance. As a result we have obtained high resolution thermal image. image.

  • This paper presents a new cutting method, i.e. diamond cutting, aided by electrolysis, in order to cut ferrous materials with diamond tools. Diamond cutting is widely applied in manufacturing ultraprecision parts such as magnetic disk, polygon mirror, spherical/non-spherical mirror and copier drum, etc. because of the diamond tool edge sharpness. In general, however, diamond cutting cannot be applied to cutting steels, because diamond tools wear excessively in cutting iron based materials like steel due to their high chemical interaction with iron in high temperature. In order to suppress the diffusion of carbon from the diamond tool and to reduce increase of cutting force due to size effect, we attempt to change chemically the compositions of iron based materials using electrolysis in a limited part which will be soon cut. Through experiments under several micro-machining and electrolysis conditions, cutting using electrolysis, compared to conventional cutting, was found to result in a great decrease of the cutting force, a better surface and much less wear tool.

  • 본 논문에서는 레이저 다이오드(Laser Diode, LD)를 배열시키고 회전 다면경(Polygon Mirror)의 반사각 및 회전다면경의 기하학적 프로젝션 시스템 설계를 통하여 2D-레이저 프로젝션 시스템을 구현하였다. 제안한 회전다면경과 레이저 다이오드 배열을 적용하석 영상 동기 시켜 레이저 배열을 적용한 레이저 디스플레이 시스템을 최종적으로 설계하고 실제 제작을 통해서 시스템을 검증하였다.

  • 3D printers have been growing mainly in industrial use, but the recent growth of the personal 3D printer market advanced through economic effects and cost reduction due to technological development. However, current 3D personal printers are very low in customer satisfaction on the limitations of molding speed, size, and precision. In this paper, we propose SLA 3D printer using LSU to overcome the technical limitation of personal 3D printer. In order to verify the operation of the scanning mechanism which is responsible for core functions, the movement of molding board using stepping motor and laser output test was conducted. These tests ensure that the laser was operating and control well was confirmed that a certain point is output to the X-axis by means of a laser module and a polygon mirror. 3D printers which are proposed to improve the accuracy and manufacturing speed is expected to replace the traditional low-budget 3D printer.

초정밀가공 기술의 현황과 전망

  • 마이크로 일렉트로닉스(Microelectronics)를 중심으로 하는 산업혁명이 진행되고 있는 시점에서 전자, 광학 또는 신소재 부품에 대한 형상과 치수 또는 표면거칠기에 대한 정확도와 정밀도가 엄격하게 요구되고 있다. 예를 들어 경취 재료인 반도체의 웨이화( w-afer), 수정진동자 자기헷트, 비구면렌즈 또는 연질 금속의 레이저빔(Laser Beam) 프린터 용 포리곤 밀러(Polygon Mirror), 자기디스크, 복사기용 드럼(drum), 레저기기용 반사밀러 등 가공정밀도를 향상시키기 위해서는 과거의 가공기술을 대치할 수 있는 새로운 초정밀가공 기술의 도입이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 경취성 재료의 초정밀가공은 지금까지는 랩핑(lappi- ng), 폴리싱(polishing)의 가공기술이 주체였으나, 최근의 엄격한 부품정밀도에 대응하기 위하여 전가공을 초정밀 연삭가공으로 평면도,표면거칠기, 가공변질층을 향상시키고 다듬질 가공은 폴리싱으로 하여 표면거칠기를 향상시켜야 하는 가공기술이 보급되고 있다. 일반연질 금속의 다듬질가공은 유리지립을 이용하는 랩핑이나 폴리싱으로 다듬질 가공을 진행하고 있었 으나 형상정도와 표면정밀도를 동시에 얻는다는 것이 어렵고 또 가공시간이 너무 길어서 매우 고가인 것이 되고 말았다. 그러나 유리에서 연질금속으로 재료를 전환시키고 저가격화, 양산 화의 요구, 정밀도 향상과 부품의 안정화 등등 여러 이유로서 다아아몬드(Diamond) 공구로 mirror surface 를 만드는 초정밀 경면연삭 가공기술(precision turning with diamond)의 발달 로 이제는 완전히 새로운 가공기술로 대치되고 말았다. 다이아몬드에 의한 초정밀절삭은 공구 끝이 매우 예리하고 마모가 매우 적은 단결정 다이아몬드를 이용하고 절삭가공 기계는 운동정도 를 피가공물에 정확히 전사 시키는 방법이며 따라서 가공기계는 고도의 운동정밀도가 요구되며 그외에 강성, 진동, 열변이, 제어면에서 엄격한 검도가 있어야 한다.

  • Laser scanning system using a hologram is simpler in optical system, lower in cost than using a polygon. In this paper, a thick hologram is fabricated for the underfilled transmission disk type with a merit of wabble insensitivity to vibration. High diffraction efficiency over 50% is obtained using silver halide recording material. The two-dimensional scan pattern with 13 scan-line is made by 7-facet hologon and mirror system. This system can be practically applied to POS(Point of Sale) bar-code symbol reader.

  • This paper describes the design principles and methods of electronic processor for thermal imager with the SPRITE detector, operating in the 8-12 micron band. The thermal imager consists of a optical scanner containing the detector and an electrical signal processor. The optical scanner utilizing rotating polygon and oscillating mirror, is 2-dimensional serial/parallel scan type using 5 elements of the detector. And the electronic processor has pre-processing of 5 chnanel's thermal signal from the detector, and performs digital scan conversion to reform the parallel data stream into serial analog data compatible with conventional RS-170 video. Through the designed electronic processor, we have acquired a satisfactory thermal image. And the MRTD (Minimum Resolvable Temperature Difference) is 0.5$^{\circ}$K at 7.5 cycles/mm.

Optical system design for laser scanning unit (Laser Scanning Unit용 광학계 설계)

  • Laser Scanning Unit (LSU), which is one of the core parts of laser printer, consists of LD Module, cylinder lens, polygon mirror and f$\theta$ lens. After making an initial design on each part, we optimized the one which satisfies the user specification. The optimized optical system has diffraction limited performance for the slit size of 2.7 mm$\times$1.6 mm, f$\theta$ characteristics less than 0.3% and field curvature less 1.2 mm. We also calcurate tolerance of each part based on RSS(Root Sum Square) method to manufacture LSU for mass production.
