The organic light-emitting devices(OLEDs) based on fluorescence have low efficiency due to the requirement of spin-symmetry conservation. By using the phosphorescent material, the internal quantum efficiency can reach 100$\%$, compared to 25$\%$ in case of the fluorescent material [1]. Thus recently phosphorescent OLEDs have been extensively studied and showed higher internal quantum efficiency than conventional OLEDs. In this study, we have applied a new Ir complex as a red dopant and fabricated a red phosphorescent OLED on a flexible PC(Polycarbonate) substrate. Also, we have investigated the electrical and optical properties of the devices with a structure of A1/LiF/Alq3/(RD05 doped)BAlq/NPB/2-TNAIA/ITO/PC substrate. Our device showed the lightening efficiency of > 30 cd/A at an initial brightness of 1000 cd/$m^{2}$. The CIE(Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage) coordinates for the device were (0.62,0.37) at a current density of 1 mA/$cm^{2}$. In addition, although the sheet resistance of ITO films on PC substrate is higher than that on glass substrate, the flexible OLED showed much better lightening efficiency without much increase in operating voltage.
Polycarbonate (PC) films have been irradiated with various kinds of ions according to energy and dose. Change of the optical transmittance and chemical characteristics were confirmed by UV-VIS and FTIR (ATR) spectroscopy respectively. These UV-A block in 400 nm was variable from 10 to 100% according to energy and doses. Surface electrical resistance of PC film irradiated by ion beam was $10^6-10^{13}{\Omega}/cm^2$, which reveal variation of conduction. Contact angle of film irradiated by ion beam was decreased than the pristine film. Polymer surface morphology was examined by means of atomic force microscopy (AFM). As expected, degradation of polymer film was higher after irradiation with heavier Xe ions but the roughness in the polymer surface morphology were more pronounced for Ar ions. This observed effect can be explained by stronger compaction of polymer surface layer in the case of Xe irradiation, connected with a reduction of free volume available.
Transparent, photocatalytic, and self-cleaning TiO2 thin film is developed by TiO2 sol-gel coating on glass and polycarbonate (PC) substrates. Acetyl acetone (AcAc) suppresses the precipitation of TiO2 by forming a yellowish (complex) transparent sol-gel. XPS analysis confirms the presence of Ti2p and O1s in the thin films on glass and PC substrates. The TiO2-sol is prepared by stabilizing titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) with diethylamine and methyl alcohol. The addition of AcAcsilane coupling solution to the TiO2-sol instantaneously turns to yellowish color owing to the complexing of titanium with AcAc. The AcAc solution substantially improves the photocatalytic property of the TiO2 coating layer in MB solutions. The coated TiO2 film exhibits super hydrophilicity without and with light irradiation. The TiO2 thin film stabilized by adding 8.7 wt% AcAc shows the highest photo-degradation for methylene blue (MB) solution under UV light irradiation. Also, the optimum photocatalytic activity is obtained for the 8.7 wt% AcAc-stabilized TiO2 coating layer calcined at 450 ℃. The thin-films on glass exhibit fast self-cleaning from oleic acid contamination within 45 min of UV-light irradiation. The appropriate curing time at 140 ℃ improves the anti-fogging and thermal stability of the TiO2 film coated on PC substrate. The watermark-free PC substrate is particularly beneficial to combat fogging problems of transparent substrates.

The bonding of adhesive joints of adhesive joints is influenced by the surface roughness of the joining Parts. However, the magnitude of the influence has not yet been clarified because of the complexity of the phenomena. In this study, it is shown that surface treatment affects adhesive strength and durability of alumina/polycarbonate single-lap .joints, and leading speed affects tensile-shea strength of adhesive Joints. To evaluate effect of surface treatments on the adhesive strength, several surface treatment methods are used, that is, cleaning, grinding, SiC polishing and sand blasting. It is shown that an optimum value of the surface roughness exists with respect to the tensile-shea strength of adhesive joints. The adhesive strength shows linear relationship with the surface roughness and loading speed. And the mechanical removal of disturbing films of lubricants, impurities and oxides make adhesive strength increase significantly.
Mammography improves image quality that is on the increase day by day and get a picture with the pressure it is essential to reduce the dose. However, because due to the thickness of the cuff itself may increase the dose scattering lines is necessary study on the cuff material. Material that is currently being used in clinical Polycarbonate is a plastic and family. If you try to reduce the exposure of patients than itgie need to consider for the better material in this study to compare against a radiolucent line for amorphous plastic material of the plastic. results radiolucent and half layer, transmitting dose Pixel values HIPS, GPPS, ABS, Tritan, PC, PMMA showed high results in the net.

Recently, the electronic parts are to be thinner plate, smaller size, light weight material and CPU, HDD and DRAM in all the parts have been produced on the basis of the high speed and greater capacity. Also, conventional goods have replaced a LED (Light-Emitting Diode) in lighting products so; such industry devices need to have cooling. To maximize all the performance on the heat-radiated products, the area of heat-radiated parts is required to be cooled for keeping the life time extension and performance of product up. Existing cooling systems are using radiant heat plate of aluminum, brass by extrusion molding, heat pipe or hydro-cooling system for cooling. There is a limitation for bringing the light weight of product, cost reduction, molding of the cooling system. So it is proposed that an alternative way was made for bringing to the cooling system. EP (Engineering Plastic) of low-cost ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene Resin) and PC (Polycarbonate) was coated with brass and the coating made the radiated heat go up. The performance of radiant heat plate is the similar to the existing part. We have studied experimentally on the radiated heat plate for the light-weight, molding improvement and low-cost. From now on, we are going to develop the way to replace the exiting plate with exterior surface of product as a cooling system.
Plastics are one of difficult materials for recycling due to their characteristics in use. Recycling ratio of waste plastics was around 40% in last year in Japan, which includes energy recovery. Feed stock recycling and mechanical recycling are not easy because of additives in commercial plastics. Then, pyrolysis treatments have been done to recovery energy. Although plastics are easy to fire, complete combustion of them is not easy if anti-firing agents are added especially. Therefore, researches on pyrolysis or combustion behaviors of plastics containing additives are important from a view point recycling of plastics. Direct observation of popular plastics like polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), polyphenyle ether (PPE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to investigate their pyrolysis behaviors in the present study. In case of PS, melting and gas evolution started at 9$0^{\circ}C$ and 39$0^{\circ}C$ respectively. And combustion finished at 445$^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, more than $600^{\circ}C$ and sufficient oxygen are required for complete combustion of PC and PPE.

Information storage devices have been studied to increase the storage capacity and the data transfer rate as well as to decrease the access time and their physical sizes. Optical information storage devices have been achieved high-capacity by reducing optical spot size remarkably due to the development of Blue-ray technology. Optical information storage devices usually use 1.2mm-thick polycarbonate(PC) media to get high enough stiffness. However, it would be better if we can decrease the thickness of a disk for achieving thinner device while keeping the capacity as large as possible. Decreasing the thickness of the storage media makes it difficult to read and write data because it increases the transverse vibration of the rotating disk due to the interaction with surrounding air and the vibration characteristics of thin flexible disk itself, Therefore, a special design based on the fluid mechanics is required to suppress the transverse vibration of the disk in non-contact manner so that the optical pickup can read/write data successfully. In this study, a curved wall is proposed as a stabilizer to suppress the transverse vibration of a $95{\mu}m$-thick PC disk. The characteristics of disk vibration due to a curved wall have been studied through numerical and experimental analysis from the fluid mechanics point of view. The proposed shapes are possible candidates as stabilizers to suppress the transverse vibration of a flexible disk which rotates at high speed.

The correlation between the temporal and spatial variations of the elastic constant and temperature change was examined for a light guide plate (LGP) adopted in the edge-lit light-emitting-diode backlight for mobile applications, using the micro- Brillouin light scattering method. The velocity of sound and the elastic constant $C_{11}$ of an LGP made from bisphenol-A polycarbonate (PC) were investigated as functions of temperature, time, and position on the LGP. The temporal variation of $C_{11}$ exhibited an exponential decay, while the spatial variation of $C_{11}$ reflected the temperature distribution on the LGP. The glass transition temperature of the PC LGP was found to be located at $155^{\circ}C$. The result showed that systematic transformation between the elastic property and the temperature is possible and that the temperature distribution on the bulk LGP can be accurately probed via the present experiment method, without using any special temperature measurement equipment.

In this study, we have fabricated light guide plates (LGPs) in thin film form for edge type back light unit (BLU) by using UV imprint lithography. In the LGPs, the pattern of functional resins on PC and PMMA substrates were successfully transferred from original master mold through PVC stamp. Optimized pattern arrays with slowly-sloped density were designed to obtain high brightness and uniformity. We could obtain a relatively improved brightness of $950cd/m^2$ and a uniformity of 87.3% by using the NP-S20 functional resins at an input power of 1.3 W because NP-S20 resin could show high formability after UV hardening process. The LGP prepared on polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) substrate exhibited higher brightness than that on polycarbonate (PC) substrate because PMMA has lower refractive index resulting in more refraction toward the vertical direction.
