Kinesin-13 (Kin-13), a depolymerizer of microtubule (MT), has been known to affect the length of Giardia. Giardia Kin-13 (GlKin-13) was localized to axoneme, flagellar tips, and centrosomes, where phosphorylated forms of Giardia polo-like kinase (GlPLK) were distributed. We observed the interaction between GlKin-13 and GlPLK via co-immunoprecipitation using transgenic Giardia cells expressing Myc-tagged GlKin-13, hemagglutinin-tagged GlPLK, and in vitro-synthesized GlKin-13 and GlPLK proteins. In vitro-synthesized GlPLK was demonstrated to auto-phosphorylate and phosphorylate GlKin-13 upon incubation with [γ-³²P]ATP. Morpholino-mediated depletion of both GlKin-13 and GlPLK caused an extension of flagella and a decreased volume of median bodies in Giardia trophozoites. Our results suggest that GlPLK plays a pertinent role in formation of flagella and median bodies by modulating MT depolymerizing activity of GlKin-13.

Purpose - As economic activities between different countries have rapidly spread in a world of free trade, it is inevitable that a large volume of cargo will be carried between countries. It is natural, then, that CO2 emissions and other environmental pollutions have followed, which exposes people and society to serious environmental problems and social costs, and so on. Therefore, the need to understand logistics is not only a matter of transportation but also an environmentally oriented matter. The purpose of this study is to look at some lessons and implications from the European case in terms of green logistics matters. Research design, data, and methodology - In order to look into this matter, first, it has to be established that some cargo transport volumes using different transportation modes have clearly declined because of previous economic recessions. Some transport policies produced by the European Union (EU) are based in a long history of struggling to cope with transport matters in European countries. In its recent transport policies, the EU has provided greener transportation alternatives, realizing that pollution matters affect the European transport market. This study tries to determine what policies the EU has implemented to deal with green logistics matters. This study concentrates in particular on the Marco Polo program in the EU. Results - This study found that the EU seems to consider these kinds of matters, that is, transport and the environment in the context of green logistics. The EU launched some policy instruments to solve this matter relatively earlier than other countries and reviewed them as necessary. In order to make these policy tools work, the EU provided PACT for combined transport, and then the Marco Polo I and II European transport white paper packages. These European policies deal with green logistics matters in two ways. First, some restrictions have been imposed, especially taxation, and so on. Transport subsidies are also powerful means of handling green logistics matters in Europe. Along with these two means of dealing with transport and the environment, the EU eventually targeted integration of different transport modes. Instead of employing only a single transport instrument mode to deliver the cargo to be carried, such as trucking, rail, ocean-going carrier, flight, or inland waterway transport, the EU has proposed that combining transport modes is the best alternative for transport and the environment. That is, the EU is pursuing the adoption of multimodalism as an answer to the green logistics challenge as it provides a more cost efficient and more productive means of transport. Conclusions - In conclusion, multimodal transport should be considered when applying green logistics, as it can provide an alternative way to achieve transport and environmental solutions together at the present time. Two methods can be used to encourage multimodal transport: restrictions and subsidies. These are the lessons and implications from European green logistics policies.

We provide a characterization of the positive monoids (i.e., additive submonoids of the nonnegative real numbers) that satisfy the finite factorization property. As a result, we establish that positive monoids with well-ordered generating sets satisfy the finite factorization property, while positive monoids with co-well-ordered generating sets satisfy this property if and only if they satisfy the bounded factorization property.

Bulbs of Lilium Oriental hybrids cv. 'Casablanca' and 'Marco Polo' were grown in a plastic house in alpine area of Pyongchang Kangwondo. Saw-dust, black film, reflective film, transparent film, and white/black double film were used as mulching materials to ascertain the growth of foliage, the quality of flower, and the size of bulbs. Foliage weights of both lilies were higher when lilies were grown with mulching materials than control. There were no differences of bulb weight among the control and mulching treatments, except delayed bulb growth in black film and white/black double film. Mulching cultivation with saw-dust and reflective film stimulated foliage growth, root growth and bulb production, but black film delayed the growth and development. Transparent and white/black double films showed no effects on foliage growth and bulb development than the control. As mulching materials tended to delay lily growth, including foliage and bulb, an extension of growing term might be better to produce high quality lilies than common cultivation in alpine area.

The Traditional Look, a class of fashion, represents image based on British aristocratic authenticity and cultural heritage as unchangeable and lasting classic fashion style. And recently, it keeps up with the trend of modern and young consumers' desire by putting various images. The purpose of the study is to investigate the concept, image and present market condition and to analyze degree of consumers' brand awareness of Traditional brand in pursuit of developing new market and ensuring power between competitive brands. From above work, surveyed on degree of brand awareness and interest, preference, associable image and purchase factors coming from consumers. 606 data were analyzed with SPSS package. Frequency, Factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Multiple response, and correlation were applied. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Traditional brand has a high degree at consumers' brand awareness but comparatively lower at interest in it. In band name, while the Burberry has the highest brand awareness, the Polo and the Hunt take first and second position in a purchasing rate. Brand preference has tendency to be concentrated on certain brands showing the outstanding highest degree like the Polo in the 20s, and the Burberry in the 50s in aspect of age structure. 2. In associable image of Traditional brand, it is associate with noble image as dignified, classical and intellectual with itself strongly among practical, individuality, confidential and noble image. 3. As the purchase factors of traditional brand products, it depends on mainly the reliability and esthetic factors like design and quality rather than ostentatious and practical factors. 4. Associable image except individuality image is correlated with the purchase factors of traditional brand.

The following contents are the results from the examination of unisex fetishism minimal and active which are Mods look. Unisex-becasue of the changing in musician and the role of sex Mods girl adopted much from men's clothing. The unisex mods look expressed in the 1990s is not the expression confronting the estab-lished value and the confusion of sex as it did in the '60s but possibly the appearance of a fashion trend. Fetishism-in the '60s the Mods look changed mens clothing into more wonman-like clothing which expressed their internal and external values of thinking. this fetishism phenomenon is also strongly expressed among the in the 1990s. This gives a future-orientid feeling by expressing with a modern sense the 60's fetish dress which used woman-like silhouettes bright and stretch fabric colorful and vivid tone. Minimal-The 60's Mods put on mini skirts called the revolution of length as a mode of re-sistance and mininmal dress as a way of ex-pressing the liberation of body and the con-sciousness of beauty. Minimal is reflected well on slim and fit jackets and pants and short and fit pants etc. mods look in the '90s also consists of the general trend of slim and fit silhouette. Active-Mods that reject the value of estab-lished generation in the 60s showed a sporty and casual trend on fashion. Mods works around clubs wore polo shirts and cadigan and Mods enjoys scooter often wore anorak parkas This active style of Mods approched to the young' casual with freshness expressing newly in the '90s polo shirts took a seat as an item of street fashion especially in the beginning of 1996. Mods in the 1960s shows well a fashion flow of the age as a street fashion which expresses the mental world reflected in politics econo-mics society and culture within the people of the age. These Mods looks revived in the early 1990's awaken an importance of the culture of the young as the cultural qualities included in Mods of the past life and this fashion trend expected to take a part as a symbol of fashion culture.

Recently, the field of university PR(public relations) and UI(university identity) come to be emphasized as a remarkable one because the applicants to the universities are consistently reduced in Korea. The purpose of this thesis is to present a souvenir for university PR which is designed in a clothing commodity, easily accessible to visitors, helping students and university officials to keep a pride to our university. We have designed four kinds of clothing, ie T-shirts, polo-shirts, trousers, and hats, after scrutinizing those of other universities. By making change the length of sleeves and slacks, the four kinds were transformed into eight kinds of clothing commodities. The basic trend of this design is on the trompe l'oeil, with the colors being white, grey and black ones, which are of 100% cotton.

In this paper, we describe an isolated words recognition system for Korean isolated digits based on a voiced -unvoiced decision algorithm and a frequency domain analysis. The algorithm first performs a voiced-unvoiced decision procedure for the begtinning part of each uttered work using the normalized log energy and zero crossing rate as decision parameters. Based on this decision,. each word is assigned to one of two classes. In order to identify the uttered word within each class, a dynamic time warping algorithm is applied using formant frequencies as the basis for the distance measure. We exploit a pole-zero analysis to measure formant frequencies in each frame. We have observed that pole-zero analysis can provide more accurate estimation of formant frequencies than analysis based on poles only. Experimental recognition rates of 97.3% illustrating the performance of the recognition system was achieved.

The purpose of this study is to apply conjoint analysis to fashion product development. Conjoint measurement was undertaken on the traditional casual market, composed of Polo, Beanpole, Maru and Giordano brands. Product's attributes, such as brand name, price, country of origin and style, were selected as choice factors. Twelve profiles were used for full-profile stimulus cards method. Based on the importance and utility rates of the product attributes, preferences for the products currently in the market and simulated products were calculated. The results increased our understanding of the trends in traditional casual market and assisted in the preparation of marketing strategies for each brand.

백합으로부터 total RNA를 분리하여 LSV 외피단백질 유전자의 551 bp에 해당하는 특정 염기서열을 증폭할 수 있는 primer로 RT-PCR를 수행하였다. 그 결과 Lilium oriental hybrid cvs. Miani, Marco Polo, Casablanca, Le Reve 품종에서 551 bp의 DNA 절편이 증폭되었고 이 절편의 염기서열을 분석한 결과 LSV외피단백질 유전자의 일부임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 RT-PCR 방법으로, 실험에 사용하 s4품종 모두 LSV에 감염되어 있음을 알 수 있었다.
