새만금사업의 친환경개발지표 설정 연구 (A Study on the Development of Eco-friendly Environmental Indicators for Saemangeum Project)

  • Saemangeum reclamation project was started in 1991 with the purpose of eco-friendly reclamation, but without clear definition of eco-friendliness. This study was carried out to find out the environmental indicators to define and evaluate the eco-friendliness of Saemangeum project. The methodology to identify the indicators included the analysis of similar reclamation projects, professional discussions, and Delphi survey. The eco-friendly indicators are theoretically based on the five elements of eco-friendliness; 1) resource consumption, 2) energy consumption, 3) pollution emission, 4) bio-diversity, 5) social amenity. The 69 indicators were explained in detail for the convenient use of the indicators by the potential users. The 69 indicators were classified into three categories such as pre-evaluation, process evaluation, and post-evaluation. In terms of spatial consideration, the 69 indicators were classified into two categories such as direct influence area and indirect influence area. Also the 69 indicators were classified into 7 categories: 1) sea, 2) lake, 3) agricultural land use, 4) industrial land use, 5) residential land use, 6) tourism land use, and 7) environmental land use. Twenty core indicators were selected from the 69 indicators by surveying the importance of each indicator. The core indicators are recommended in case of time and budget strain. When there are few quantitative data accumulated for the reclamation project, 5 macro indicators are recommended to be used. Macro indicators are qualitative in nature, and may be used in order to evaluate the overall eco-friendliness of a reclamation project.

부탄올의 분사 및 분무특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the injection and spray characteristics of butanol)

  • Butanol has an ability to improve the ignition quality due to its lower latent heat of vaporization; it has an advantage to reduce a volume of a fuel tank because its energy density is higher than that of ethanol. Also, butanol-diesel oil blending quality is good because butanol has an effect to prevent the phase-separation between two fuels. Even if the blended oil contains water, it can reduce the corrosion of the fuel line. Thus, it is possible to use butanol-diesel oil blended fuel in diesel engine without modification, and it may reduce the environment pollution due to NOx and particulate and the consumption of diesel oil. Therefore, some studies are being advanced whether butanol is adequate as an alternative fuel for diesel engines, and the results of the combustion and exhaust gas emission characteristics are being presented. Though the injection and spray characteristics of butanol are more important in diesel combustion, the has not yet dealt with the matter. In this study, the influence in which differences of physical properties between butanol and diesel oil may affect the injection and spray characteristics such as injection rate, penetration, spray cone angle, spray velocity and process of spray development were examined by using CRDI system, injection rate measuring device and spray visualization system. The results exhibited that the injection and macroscopic spray characteristics of two fuels were nearly the same.

기상조건별 비산먼지 관리체계 최적화 연구 (Optimization of Fugitive Dust Control System for Meteorological Conditions)

  • Fugitive dust, which is emitted in the ambient air without first passing through a stack or duct designed to control flow, is frequently generated by means of wind erosion from storage yards at Pohang Steel Wokrs. The size distribution of fugitive dust is mostly in the range of coarse particulate which is deposited as soon as emitted and less harm to human health; however $20\%$ of fugitive dust contains PM 10 known as one of most harmful airborne pollutant. Consequently, effective control and reduction of fugitive dust is strongly requested by the local society, but it is not easy so far because the generation and dispersion of fugitive dust highly depends on meteorological conditions, and it being occurred for irregularity. This research presented a fugitive dust control system for each meteorological condition by providing statistical prediction data obtained from a statistical analysis on the probability of generating the threshold velocity at which the fugitive dust begins to occur, and the frequency occurring by season and by time of the wind direction that can generate atmospheric pollution when the dispersed dust spreads to adjacent residential areas. The research also built a fugitive dust detection system which monitors the weather conditions surrounding storage yards and the changes in air quality on a real-time basis and issues a warning message by identifying a situation where the fugitive dust disperses outside the site boundary line so that appropriate measures can be taken on a timely basis. Furthermore, in respect to the spraying of water to prevent the generation of fugitive dust from the storage piles at the storage yard, an advanced statistical meteorological analysis on the weather conditions in Pohang area and a case study of fugitive dust dispersion toward outside of working field during $2002\∼2003$ were carried out in order to decide an optimal water-spraying time and the number of spraying that can prevent the origin of fugitive dust emission. The results of this research are expected to create extremely significant effects in improving surrounding environment through actual reduction of the fugitive dust produced from the storage yard of Pohang Steel Works by providing a high-tech warning system capable of constantly monitoring the leakage of fugitive dust and water-spray guidance that can maximize the water-spraying effects.

PMF 방법론을 이용한 수원지역 PM-10의 오염원 확인 (Source Identification of PM-10 in Suwon Using the Method of Positive Matrix Factorization)

  • The receptor modeling is one of the statistical methods to achieve reasonable air pollution strategies. The pur-pose of this study was to survey the concentration variability oi inorganic elements and ionic species in the PM-10 particles, to qualitatively characterize emission sources by an advanced algorithm called positive matrix factoriza-tion(PMF) as a receptor model that can strictly provide results in every loading matrix. A total of 254 samples was collected by a PM-10 high volume air sampler from Mar. 1997 to Feb. 1998 in Kyung Hee University at Suwon Campus. Fourteen chemical species(Zn, Cu, Fe, Pb, Al, Mn, $Na^{+}$, NH$_4$+, $K^{+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $SO_4^{2-}$, $NO_{3}^{-}$, and $Cl^{-}$) were determined by AAS and IC methods. The study results showed that the average monthly concentration of PM-10 particles were 86.3$\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{m}^3$ in March (maximum) and 28.5$\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{m}^3$ in August(minimum), respectively. The concentrations of Na+, NH$_4$+, $K^{+}$ and $Cl^{-}$ in winter, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$ and $NO_{3}^{-}$, in spring, and $SO_4^{2-}$ in summer showed the largest peak concentration for the respective season. Through and app-lication of a PMF program of Pm-10 concentration data of Suwon, 9 sources were qualitatively identified , such as incineration source, oil burning source, soil related source, open burning source automobile source, coal burning sources, secondary sulfate related source, and secondary nitrate related source.

이산화탄소 해양 지중저장 시스템에서의 누출 위해성 평가방법에 관한 기술적 검토 (Technical Review on Risk Assessment Methodology for Carbon Marine Geological Storage Systems)

  • 지중 저장기술은 대기로 방출되는 이산화탄소를 저감하는 기술로서 기후변화를 발생하는 온실효과를 저감 시킬 수 있다. 해양 저지대에 위치한 심층 대수층 혹은 폐유전 등은 이러한 이산화탄소 저장기술의 중요한 후보군이라고 할 수 있다. 관련된 이산화탄소 주입 및 저장기술은 전 세계적으로도 많은 관심을 받고 있으나, 이러한 시스템에서 이산화탄소 누출이 발생하였을 때의 부정적 영향에 대해서는 아직 심도 있는 연구는 진행되지 못하고 있다. 이산화탄소 저장기술의 안정성이 매우 높아서 누출의 가능성은 매우 낮다고 하더라도, 고농도의 이산화탄소가 만약의 사태에서 누출이 된다면 여전히 해양생태계 및 환경에 위험이 있을 수 있다. 그러나 이에 대한 연구가 충분히 이루어지지 않았기에, 본 연구에서는 하나의 신뢰성 및 위해성 평가방법을 소개하고자 한다. Feature, Event and Process(FEP)를 통해 다양한 요소를 고려하고, 결함수 분석을 통해 신뢰도를 평가하는 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 FEP 분석으로 시스템에서 시공 및 운영과정에서 발생할 수 있는 다양한 누출 가능성을 평가하는 방법을 소개하였다.

자기 강제적인 국제환경 협력을 위한 구상 (Designs for Self-Enforcing International Environmental Coordination)

  • 본 연구는 효과적인 국제 환경협약을 지속시키기 위해 소위, 자기 강제적인 협력체제 구축이 가능한 게임이론적 분석틀을 제시한다. 모델은 본질적으로 전략적 성향을 추구하는 각 국 정부의 환경 정책(본 논문에서는 배출허가 규범의 예를 고려함)이 추진되는 과정에서 어떻게 지속가능한 국제 환경협약이행을 위한 규칙이 계획될 수 있는지 분석한다. 특별히 최근 무한 반복적 게임이론의 연구 성과를 바탕으로, 본 연구는 이기적으로 행동하는 주권국가들이 일시적 이익을 위해 국제 협약을 위배하지 않고 지속적으로 그리고 협력적으로 그것을 위지시킬 수 있는 주요 메커니즘을 소개하는데 중점을 둔다. 현실적으로 국제 환경문제가 협약에 참가하는 국가들 뿐만 아니라 비회원국들에게도 외부효과가 미칠 수 있으며, 회원국 상호간에도 협약 이행에 관한 확실한 정보가 교환되지 못하는 경우를 고려하는 모델도 분석의 대상에 포함되었다. 이러한 경우, 모델의 균형 벡터를 구성하는 임계할인율, 유인가격수준, 그리고 협약위반에 따른 처벌 기간 등의 도출 과장이 간략히 논의된다.

선박 디젤기관의 배기배출물 특성이 흡기 온도변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Changing the Intake Air Temperature in a Marine Diesel Engine on the Characteristics of Exhaust Gas Emission)

  • 최근 지구의 기후변화는 온실가스가 원인으로 전 세계적 대기환경문제로 크게 부각되고 있다. 국내에서도 기후변화에 적극 대응하기 위한 기술개발이 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 날씨의 이상고온으로 인한 환경에 미치는 영향과 갑작스런 집중호우가 환경에 미치는 영향을 대상으로 하였다. 우리생활 주변 대기온도가 상승하였을 때 온도변화에 의한 대기오염발생에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구의 실험조건은 선박 디젤기관에서 회전수 1400 rpm, 1600 rpm 그리고 1800 rpm, 부하는 0 %에서 25 %씩 100 %까지 하였고, 흡기 온도변화는 20℃에서 50℃까지 구분하여 연구하였다. 연구한 결과 흡기온도가 증가함에 따라 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소는 약간 감소하였으나 연료소비율, 질소산화물, PM은 약간 증가하였다. 또한 연소온도는 큰 변화가 없었다.

BIM/GIS을 활용한 건설폐기물관리시스템 개선방안에 대한 연구 (A Study of How to Improve of Building Waste Management Systems Using by 'BIM / GIS')

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 환경오염이나 자원고갈이 급속히 진전되고 있다. 그 중 건설 산업은 다른 산업의 생산 활동에 비해 막대한 자원 소비 및 대량의 폐기물을 배출하여, 지구의 환경부하를 증대시키는 주요 원인이다. 우리나라에서는 건설폐기물을 재활용하기 위한 기술적, 제도적 기반이 필요함을 인식함에 따라 폐기물 종합관리시스템인 올바로(Allbaro) 시스템을 구축하여 실시간 건설폐기물의 발생과 이동에 따른 처리에 대한 표준화된 정보처리 및 건설폐기물 처리의 투명성 확보 및 업무의 능률향상을 도모하였다. 하지만 시스템의 구성에서 해체 건물에 대한 객관적인 정보가 구축되지 않아 배출자가 폐기물에 대한 정보를 임의로 생산하고 배출함에 따라 정확한 폐기량을 파악하기 힘들고 폐기 후 재활용이라는 한계점을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 건설폐기물관리시스템의 장단점을 분석하고 BIM/GIS를 활용하였을 시의 건설폐기물관리시스템 개선방안에 대해 제안하고자 한다.

가축분뇨 및 음식물쓰레기의 혐기성 소화 병합처리 시 VS 제거효율과 메탄 발생량의 관한 연구 (A Study on VS Removal Efficiency and Methane Emission in Combined Anaerobic Digestion of Livestock Manure and Food Waste)

  • Livestock manure treatments have become a more serious problem because massive environmental pollutions such as green and red tides caused by non-point pollution sources from livestock manures have emerged as a serious social issue. In addition, more food wastes are being produced due to population growth and increased income level. Since the London Convention has banned the ocean dumping of wastes, some other waste treatment methods for land disposal had to be developed and applied. At the same time, researches have been conducted to develop alternative energy sources from various types of wastes. As a result, anaerobic digestion as a waste treatment method has become an attractive solution. In this study has three objectives: first, to identify the physical properties of the mixture of livestock wastewater and food waste when combining food waste treatment with the conventional livestock manure treatment based on anaerobic mesophilic digestion; second, to find the ideal ratio of waste mixture that could maximize the collection efficiency of methane ($CH_4$) from the anaerobic digestion process; and third, to promote $CH_4$ production by comparing the biodegradability. As a result of comparing the reactors R1, R2, and R3, each containing a mixture of food waste and livestock manure at the ratio of 5:5, 7:3, and 3:7, respectively, R2 showed the optimum treatment efficiencies for the removal of Total Solids (TS) and Volatile Solids (VS), $CH_4$ production, and biodegradability.

HCNG용 수소제조장치 실험 및 결과분석 (Analysis of Experimental Results on Hydrogen Generator for HCNG)

  • Pollution emission control of the 20th century, for transportation energy, are being enhanced, and then as alternative to this, because hydrogen emit only water gas emissions to be environmentally friendly energy, so hydrogen as a sustainable clean energy is in the limelight. Used in compressed natural gas engines to mix hydrogen and natural gas in both domestic and international technology development and demonstration is being carried out. The hydrogen-compressed natural gas(HCNG) charging infrastructure can be used to build a hydrogen infrastructure in the transitional aspects of a future hydrogen economy society. In this paper, for a demonstration of HCNG charging infrastructure we made and operated a $30Nm^3/h$ hydrogen generating unit and analyzed the result of the operation. We was identified the operating conditions of a reforming reactor and water gas shift reactor from an analysis result, the thermal efficiency was calculated according to the operating conditions of the total hydrogen production process.
