The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of police legitimacy on public cooperation with the police. This study consists of obligation to obey, moral alignment, and legality of police actions as factors of police legitimacy. This research employs a survey questionnaire to evaluate the police legitimacy and public cooperation with the police. The number of subject of the study is 354 citizens residing in Daegu metropolitan city and some cities of Gyeongsangbuk-do province. The study employs a multi-regression analysis to investigate the effect of the three factors of police legitimacy on public cooperation with the police. The effects of the three key factors of police legitimacy- obligation to obey, moral alignment, and legality of police actions-on public cooperation with the police are significant; specifically, legality of police actions is shown to be more effective for nurturing public cooperation than the rest of these factors. The findings also have some implications for how Korean police can foster better relationships with citizens in the communities.

The purpose of the present study is to examine the effect of civic cooperation with the police on the number of crime that the police must solve by conducting simulation based on system dynamics. The study sets police oriented-policing model and police-citizen cooperative model to investigate the effect of civic cooperation with the police. As a result of the simulation, the police oriented-policing model shows that the number of crime that police must solve is increasing over time, while the police-citizen cooperative model shows that the number of crime that must be solved by the police is keeping it stable in the increase of crimes. Comparing both models, civic cooperation with the police is more effective in reducing or deterring crime than police oriented-policing activity. The study proves that building cooperative relationship between citizens and the police can become a strategic method for controlling crime effectively without a rapid increase in police finance. It is meaningful in terms of presenting a dynamic change of interaction for reducing crimes between civic cooperation with the police and policing activity of the police over time.

Functional cerebral impairments have been verified objectively by brain SPECT and q-EEG (quantitative electroencephalography). Microcerebral circulatory defects without anatomical changes can-not be detected by the brain CT or MRI. Brain SPECT using $^{99m}Tc$-HMPAO (Hexamethyl propyleneamine oxime) as a key radioisotope may be accepted as the useful method for identifying functional cerebral impairments. We studied 25 patients with mild head trauma to define whether the SPECT was helpful in detecting cerebral impairment. Results were as follows: The SPECT was positive in 23 patients out of 25, q-EEG positive in 16 patients and brain CT was positive in 3 cases. SPECT and q-EEG were more sensitive than CT, SPECT would be more useful method than brain CT to investigate cerebral function after head injury.

This study, was conducted to find out the correlation factors of anxiety of the patients during MRI exam on the claustrophobia. This study conducted a survey targeting those korea auxiliary police and combat auxiliary police patients who were admitted to the National Police Hospital over a period from January 2 to December 24, 2013 to investigate their degree of claustrophobia. In study result, sufficient explain before exam was helpful and decrease anxiety. However, they felt more anxious about limited spare, and when the entered a bore. Symptoms of instability and fear were stuffy, sweat, dyspnea, palpitation those are ascending rank of frequency.

In response to the development of IT technology in the 21st century and the advancement of the public human rights consciousness, it has become necessary to continuously evolve the office environments to support the changes of organizational structure and work methods of the police investigation departments. As a facility standard, continuous researches on standardized design space models and guidelines of the police investigation departments are needed. In respond to the organizational changes for the convenience of the working police investigators and the protection of the human rights of the visiting public, the environmental improvement projects for the office of the investigation department of the police stations are going on since 2014. In this study, analyzation and verification of the 3 cases of pilot projects for the improvement of police investigation departments would be done, based on the policy research project in 2014: 'the standard design direction of police officers for the protection of human rights and benefit of police investigation process.' The purpose of this study is, first of all, the actual situation survey for presenting the standard design space model and guidelines of investigation department of the police department. Secondly, the validation of the spatial model adequacy for for the past 3 years' case study of the police investigation department's environmental improvements by the application of standardized design space models and guidelines. The result of this study would be to enable the more effective police department investigation environment improvement policy by presenting the standard design space models and guidelines of the investigation departments of the police facilities.

Police officers' job satisfaction has usually been measured by quantitative methods such as survey. This research is the first attempt to interview police officers in Korea to find how satisfied they are with their job. Based on e-mail interview with fourteen police officers in Korea, the study measured the multiple dimensions of job satisfaction including work condition, relationship with supervisors and colleagues, personnel management, pay and benefit, and discretion. The results suggested that police officers' attitude toward their job and motivation of becoming police officers may influence their job satisfaction. Other findings and policy implications are also discussed.

F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-18 FDG PET/CT) plays an important role in diagnosis of malignant tumors and adds to conventional imaging in the staging of pertoneal carcinomatosis. However, false positive cases resulting from benign disease such as tuberculosis may occur. We report two cases of peritoneal tuberculosis on F-18 FDG PET/CT which showed multiple hypermetabolic foci in the mesentery and peritoneum with increased serum cancer antigen 125 (CA 125). Subsequent F-18 FDG PET/CT showed a disappearance of pathologic uptake following treatment with anti-tuberculosis drugs.

The calyceal diverticulum is a cystic cavity lined by a transitional epithelium, is encased within the renal substance, and is situated peripheral to a minor calyx, to which it is connected by a narrow channel. Both congenital and acquired factors have been suggested to explain the formation of a calyceal diverticulum. We experienced a case of a huge calyceal diverticulum that was newly developed after a renal injury.

경찰의 집행수단이 대부분 경찰공무원이라는 인적자원수단으로 이루어진다는 점에서 적격자의 채용은 매우 중요하게 다루어져야 한다. 이러한 적격자의 선발에 있어 모든 경찰공무원을 공개채용에 의해 모집하는 것이 현실적으로 불가능하다는 것을 인식하기 시작했고, 더욱이 오늘날 사회가 복잡다단해 짐에 따라 특별채용제도의 활용이 더욱 중요성이 커지고 있다. 더불어 경찰활동의 전문성 또한 매우 중요한 자질로 인식되고 있다. 이와 관련하여 특히 현대경찰이 지역사회경찰활동과 같은 패러다임을 지향함에 따라 경찰인적자원의 경찰활동에 대한 이해를 필요로 하고 있는 시점에서 경찰행정학과 특별채용은 경찰목적을 달성하기 위한 전략이 될 수 있다. 이에 따라서 본 논문에서는 경찰행정학과 출신 인적자원을 적극적으로 활용하기 위한 입직제도개선 방안을 모색해 보았다. 본 논문의 개선방안은 첫째, 순경공개채용과 특별채용의 시험 일자를 조정함으로써 기회의 제한을 해소하였다. 둘째로, 시험과목의 편성상 선택과목의 추가편성을 통하여 시험과목의 확대를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 경찰행정학과 출신 특별채용 모집인원수를 증대시키는 방안을 제시하였다.
