Design of Multilayer Ceramic Chip Band Pass Filter with an Attenuation Pole (감쇠극을 갖는 적층형 세라믹 칩 필터의 설계)

  • A multi-layer ceramic (MLC) chip type band-pass filter (BPF) is presented. The MLC chip BPF has the benefits of low cost and small size. The BPF consists of coulped stripline resonators and coupling capacitors. The BPF is designed to have an attenuation pole at below the passband for a receiver band of IMT-2000 handset. The computer-aided design technology is applied for analysis of the BPF frequency characteristics. The passband and attenuation pole depend on the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. The frequency characterics of the passband and attenuation pole are analyzed with the variation of the coupling between resonators and coupling capacitance. An equivanlent circuit and structure of MLC chip BPF are proposed. The frequency characteristics of the BPF is well acceptable for IMT-2000 application.

  • A proposed multi-layer ceramic (MLC) chip type band-pass filter (BPF) is presented. The MLC chip BPF has the benefits of low cost and small size. Compact Low-Pass Filter with Sharp Skirt Characteristics and Broad Stopband

  • A new compact microstrip low-pass filter and its equivalent-circuit model are developed. The philosophy of the structure behind this novel microstrip low-pass filter is simple as it is composed of a pair of symmetrical parallel coupled-line and an open-stub. With this configuration, a finite attenuation pole near the stopband cutoff frequency is available and adjustable by simply tuning the circuit parameters. Furthermore, the rejection bandwidth of this type of low-pass filter can be extended. In order to validate the feasibility of the proposed design method, a low-pass filter based on a microstrip structure is designed, fabricated, and measured. Experimental results agree very well with the simulation and analytical results.

A study on the characteristic analysis of the modified inverse chebyshev low-pass function (변형된 inverse chebyshev 저역통과 함수의 특성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the modified inverse chebyshev low-pass function is analyzed in the frequency domain, time domain, and sensitivity characteristics as compared with the classical inverse chebyshev function. Unlike the classical function, the modified function exhibits progressively diminishing ripples in the stopband. So, the modified function has a great attenuation throughout the stopband except at the vicinity of a stop frequency and can be realizable in the passive doubly-terminated ladder network for the even order. The poles of the modified function move towards real axis by the effect of diminishing ripples. Thus the pole-Q, which is one of the valuable measurements to estimage the function characteristics, is reduced without increasing order. In the frequency and can be realizable in the passive doubly-terminated ladder network to examine the magnitude and pole-Q sensitivities.

  • A new LTCC material in the $PbWO_4-TiO_2-B_2O_3-CuO$ system was developed. The developed material can be sintered at $850^{\circ}C$ and its dielectric properties are $\varepsilon_r=20-25, Q\timesf_o=30000~50000GHz$ , and $\tau_f=0.2~30ppm/^{\circ}C$, depending on the components moi ratio. Due to its low sintering temperature and microwave dielectric properties, the developed material can be used as a LTCC substrate for fabrication of multilayered microwave communication module set. In present study, using this material, tape casting condition was established. With this processing condition, a T-resonator was fabricated and its electrical properties were examined. Also, a 2-Pole band pass filter was fabricated and its frequency characteristics were compared with simulation results.

  • It this paper the multilayer chip band pass filter for next generation mobile communication phone is fabricated and designed. For the design the multilayer chip filter of non-contented equivalent circuit and contented equivalent circuit with attenuation pole is presented. Finally it is fabricated and designed using the multilayer chip filter of contented equivalent circuit with attenuation pole. The size insertion loss center frequency and band width of multilayer chip filter are 4.5$\times$3.2$\times$2.0[mm], 3.0[d.B] and 1945$\pm$25 MHz respectively. The multilayer chip filter was fabricated by screen printing with Ag electrode after tape casting. Simulation results of multilayer chip filter are compared with experimental results and found to be in excellent agreements.

  • In this paper, the modified generalized Chebyshev rational function is presented. The new element values of prototype low pass filter are obtained by network synthesis using this rational function. This proposed filter has an equal ripple passband as same as conventional generalized Chebyshev filter, but unlike conventional filter which has only one attenuation pole at finite frequency, the proposed filter has two different from each other attenuation pole in stopband. If the harmonic frequency is set to the second attenuation pole frequency, this harmonic is suppressed efficiently. Furthermore, since the location of the second attenuation pole can be arbitrary adjusted. our filters are very available for the realization of wide stopband, particularly.

  • A new band pass filter (BPF) prepared by dielectric monoblock and its design techniques are presented. The modeling of the three-pole dielectric monoblock BPF has been carried out by CAD. The equivalent circuit of the BPF was established by transmission lines and lumped capacitors. The transmission line characteristic impendances were computed using 2-D FEM. The BPF for PCS has been designed to have a 60 MHz pass-bandwidth with center frequency of 1960 MHz and an attenuation pole at below the passband using a commercial 3-D structure simulator.

  • A low pass filter is synthesized with R, C and negative impedance converters(NIC). The filter has a 4-th order elliptic function, which gives best magnitude approximation with equi-ripple characteristics both in pass and stop band. And experimental investigations have been made on the effect of the anticipated deviation of the NIC conversion factor and of possible loaded operation. Through the study, it has been cocluded that: 1. For minimum pole-zero sensitivity with respect to the NIC conversion factor, the network of a parallel RC-NIC configuration is preferable and the Horowitz polynomial decomposition method is applied in the synthesis procedure. 2. A few percentage variation of the NIC conversion factor changes the frequency and amplitude characteristics of the filter by nearly negligible amount. 3. With a load resistance below the critical value, the filter turns into an oscillator.
