Design of Salient Pole Rotor Type Single Phase SRM

  • Because salient pole rotor type single phase SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) has a simple structure and can be use both radial and axial direction magnetic flux at the same time, its output power per unit volume is high. Therefore, the shaft length can be minimized when compared with same output motors. However, salient pole rotor is hard to design due to its complex magnetic circuit. In this paper, salient pole rotor type single phase SRM with minimized shaft length is designed and selected the most suitable dimension of rotor, stator, pole arc and salient pole.

  • The FRP pole had great advantages over other material poles. Light weight, easy installing and transporting were good characteristics. The material's superior properties represented the good durability for sea weather and air pollution, good insulation for electric, and changeable colors. In those properties, usages were like a area affected by sea, downtown, the area among the mountains and a special area for the outstanding views. It was studied that pole manufacturing method, structure analysis of pole by FEM in this study. Filament winding method was selected for a new pole manufacturing method. It produced the tapered poles and mechanically strong properties.

  • Palaeomagnetic studies accompany calculation and plotting of pole position. This paper explains three graphical methods for the determination of pole position and plotting problem. It also derives the numerical formula for pole calculation and explains the method how the pole plotted on the rear hemisphere can be transformed to the frontal hemisphere, which is not clarified elsewhere.

  • This paper studies the problem of pole placement by an LQ controller for system having two distinct real poles. Using the so-called Pole's Moving Range (PMR) drawn in the s-plane and relational equations between closed-loop system poles and weighting matrices, we calculate the state weighting matrix to move two distinct real poles to a pair of complex poles. By numerical examples, we show that the proposed method is applied to improve system performance.

  • In this paper, a design method of controller which incorporates pole restriction into implicit self tuning algorithm is proposed. The idea behind pole restriction is that the closed loop poles of the system are restricted to a user-chosen circle in the region to meet maximum percentage overshoot and settling time specification. Most algorithm based on pole restriction are explicit schemes involving a parameter estimation and synthesis stage to obtain controller parameters. The object of this paper is to have an algorithm that has the idea of pole restriction and the simplicity of the implicit approach.

  • This paper deals with the PM performance evaluations in a pole changing memory motor (PCMM) using a coupled transient finite element method (FEM) and Preisach modeling, which is presented to analyze the magnetic characteristics of permanent magnets. The focus of this paper is the characteristics evaluation relative to magnetizing direction and the pole number of machine on re-, demagnetization condition in a pole changing memory motor.

  • Cause of excessive vibration with twice the rotational speed of a two-pole generator rotor for the fossil power plants was investigated. The two-pole generator rotor, treated as a typically asymmetric rotor in vibration analysis, produces asynchronous vibration with twice the rotational speed, sub-harmonic critical speeds, and potentially unstable operating zones due to its own inertia and/or stiffness asymmetry. This paper introduces a practical balancing procedure, and presents the results of the investigation on sources of the excessive vibration based on the experimental vibration data of the asymmetric two-pole rotor in balancing.

  • This paper presents the magnetic flux distributions of a ferrofluid seal at the sealing gap between the pole pieces and the rotating shaft. The optimized shape of pole pieces has been determined by using the computer simulations. The computed results indicate that the sloped pole piece of 27$^{\circ}$ shows good flux distributions compared with that of the conventional flat pole pieces and may reduce frictional heats due to a reduced surface contact areas of magnetic fluids.

  • The one step type pole and two step type pole are used in KEPCO's distribution system. The neutral current may occurs in three-phase four-wire distribution system due to unbalanced load. This paper presents neutral current both one step type pole and two step type pole in distribution system.
