  • The object of this paper is to acquire the data related to insulation evaluation of hybrid vehicle traction motors. We made a comparative analysis on Insulation Resistance (IR), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), and Polarization Index (PI) of the motor stators. The experiment was carried out according to IEEE Std. 43 and IEC 60085-1 for insulation resistance test standard of rotating machinery. Test voltage of 500 V was applied between a phase and the enclosure. The IR and the DAR of used motors were lower than those of new ones. The DAR and the PI were $0.92{\sim}1.02$ and $0.74{\sim}1.1$, respectively and the result did not meet the recommendation basis 2 for insulation level H. From the experimental results, we could prepare parameters and basis for insulation evaluation of the traction motor stator by the comparative analysis of short-time insulation resistance changes, DAR and PI.

  • Amid the flood of data, social network analysis is beneficial in searching for its hidden context and verifying several pieces of information. This can be used for detecting the spread model of infectious diseases, methods of preventing infectious diseases, mining of small groups and so forth. In addition, community detection is the most studied topic in social network analysis using graph analysis methods. The objective of this study is to examine signed attributed social networks and identify the maximal balanced cliques that are both absolute and fair. In the same vein, the purpose is to ensure fairness in complex networks, overcome the "information cocoon" bottleneck, and reduce the occurrence of "group polarization" in social networks. Meanwhile, an empirical study is presented in the experimental section, which uses the personal information of 77 employees of a research company and the trust relationships at the professional level between employees to mine some small groups with the possibility of "group polarization." Finally, the study provides suggestions for managers of the company to align and group new work teams in an organization.

  • This study focus on segmentation process that classifies road surfaces into 5 different categories, dry, wet water, icy, and snowy surfaces by analyzing asphalt-paved road images taken in daylight. By using the polarization coefficients, the proportions of horizontally polarized components to vertically polarized components, regions with over 1.3 polarization coefficients are classified as wet surfaces. Except for wet surfaces, the decision process a lies time-frequency analysis to other parts by using the third order wavelet packet transform. In addition, by using the average frequency characteristics of dry and icy surfaces from image templates, decide which is closer to a test image, and finally identify dry and icy surfaces. It is confirmed that the reposed estimation and segmentation of recognition on various images. This can be interpreted as an indication that image-only mad surface condition supervision is probable.

  • The SiOC film of carbon centered system was prepared using bistrimethylsilylmethane (BTMSM) and oxygen mixed precursor by the chemical vapor deposition. The dielectric constant is measured by MIS(metal/insulator/Si) structure, but it could decrease the reliability because the uniformity is not assured. To research the dielectric constant of SiOC film, the range of low polarization was researched in SiOC film using the optical analysis and hardness, and then calculated the dielectric constant of SiOC film with amorphous structure of high degree. After annealing, the dielectric constant of SiOC film was decreased owing to the lowering of polarization, and FTIR spectra of the main bond was shifted to higher wave number. The main bond of 950~1200 cm-1 was composed of the Si-C and Si-O bonds. The intensity increases in Si-O bond infers the bonding strength became stronger than that of deposited film. Annealed SiOC film showed 2.06 in dielectric constant.

  • This study was performed to identify the presence of measurement distortions such as electrode polarization and to investigate the influence of soil water content on complex permittivity at low frequency. In low frequency measurement using two-terminal electrode system, electrode polarization effect was observed at frequencies less than approximately 100 HBz. The analysis for real permittivity should be performed at frequencies above 100 kHz in order to exclude electrode polarization effect in the analysis of real permittivity at low frequency measurements. For a given soil, both of real and effective imaginary permittivity of wet soil increased continuously with volumetric water content. This is evidenced by the facts that the real permittivity is proportional to the number of dipole moments per unit volume and effective imaginary permittivity is effected by the conduction due to water. However, proportional relation between real permittivity and volumetric water content is valid at upper MHz frequencies.

  • We suggest a new method to determine the off-alignment error of the composite film, together with in-plane($R_{in}$) and out-of-plane retardation($R_{th}$) of the compensation film, simultaneously. The composite film consists of a polarizing film and a compensation film for improvement of viewing angle of a liquid crystal display. We regarded the compensation film as o-plate with its optic axis along an arbitrary direction. By using an extended Jones matrix method, the polarization characteristics of the composite film are examined. The calculated Fourier constants, ($\alpha$, $\beta$) curves of the composite film as the azimuth angle is varied at the incident angles of $0^{\circ}$ and $50^{\circ}$, respectively, are used to determine the axis misalignment, the tilt angle and the azimuth angle of the compensation film by adopting the linear regressional analysis technique. Since this method can be applied for the inspection of the composite film even after laminating the polarizing film and the compensation film, it will be useful for simplifying the manufacturing process and reducing the production cost of liquid crystal display panels.

  • The electrochemical performance for the corrosion of zinc anodes according to particle size and shape as anode in Zn/air batteries was study. We prepared five samples of Zn powder with different particle size and morphology. For analysis the particle size of theme, we measured particle size analysis (PSA). As the result, sample (e) had smaller particle size with $10.334{\mu}m$ than others. For measuring the electrochemical performance of them, we measured the cyclic voltammetry and linear polarization in three electrode system (half-cell). For measuring the morphology change of them before and after cyclic voltammetry, we measured Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM). From the cyclic voltammetry, as the zinc powder had small size, we knew that it had large diffusion coefficient. From the linear polarization, as the zinc powder had small size, it was a good state with high polarization resistance as anode in Zn/air batteries. From the SEM images, the particle size had increased due to the dendrite formation after cyclic voltammetry. Therefore, the sample (e) with small size would have the best electrochemical performance between these samples.

  • In this study, a multivariate analysis model of partial least square regression (PLSR) was developed to predict the moisture content of green peppers using hyperspectral imaging (HSI). In HSI, illumination is essential for high-quality image acquisition and directly affects the analytical performance of the visible near-infrared hyperspectral imaging (VIS/NIR-HSI) system. When green pepper images were acquired using a direct lighting system, the specular reflection from the surface of the objects and their intensities fluctuated with time. The images include artifacts on the surface of the materials, thereby increasing the variability of data and affecting the obtained accuracy by generating false-positive results. Therefore, images without glare on the surface of the green peppers were created using a polarization filter at the front of the camera lens and by exposing the polarizer sheet at the front of the lighting systems simultaneously. The results obtained from the PLSR analysis yielded a high determination coefficient of 0.89 value. The regression coefficients yielded by the best PLSR model were further developed for moisture content mapping in green peppers based on the selected wavelengths. Accordingly, the polarization filter helped achieve an uniform illumination and the removal of gloss and artifact glare from the green pepper images. These results demonstrate that the HSI technique with a polarized lighting system combined with chemometrics can be effectively used for high-throughput prediction of moisture content and image-based visualization.

  • We have found that the polarization mode coupling between the orthogonally linearly polarized dual mode laser results from the anisotropy of dipole moments. Rate equation analysis demonstrated that high anisotropy in dipole moment components can give rise to law intrinsic mode coupling constants while isotropic dipole moment components give high intrinsic mode coupling constant. The populations at active ion sites are shown to self-organize the populations such that laser mode gain is constant adove threshold while the gain contributions from the each site adjust themselves with pump power.

  • In this paper, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is adopted to design a modified ring-slot type patch rectenna with a resonance frequency of 2.45GHz. In order to accomplish minimization of dimensions and circular polarization (CP) and harmonic suppression, axial direction slits and side-cuts are added to the patch of the ring. The PSO manipulated this kind of multi-dimensional problem very well, and as a result, the designed rectenna shows a desirable performance of return loss of 21.36dB and axial ratio of 2.92dB at the frequency of 2.45GHz with compact sizing.
