In this paper, we discussed about the volume monitoring system of a landfill facility. We proposed the waste volume calculation method using the point cloud of the surface of three dimensional object by measurement of the point cloud by the three dimensional scanner, which is based upon the robot technique. This computes not only the quantity of waste volume for continuos monitoring but also it helps not only to predict the evaluation factor of the usable age of a landfill. facility. Furthermore, the measuring system of waste volume was applied to the landfill facility in Ansung city.
Measuring tree's volume is very important input data of various environmental analysis modeling However, It's difficult to use economical and equipment to measure a fragmented small green space in the city. In addition, Trees are sensitive to seasons, so we need new and easier equipment and quantification methods for measuring trees than lidar for high frequency monitoring. In particular, the tree's size in a city affect management costs, ecosystem services, safety, and so need to be managed and informed on the individual tree-based. In this study, we aim to acquire image data with UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), which can be operated at low cost and frequently, and quickly and easily quantify a single tree using SfM-MVS(Structure from Motion-Multi View Stereo), and we evaluate the impact of reducing number of images on the point density of point clouds generated from SfM-MVS and the quantification of single trees. Also, We used the Watertight model to estimate the volume of a single tree and to shape it into a 3D structure and compare it with the quantification results of 3 different type of 3D models. The results of the analysis show that UAV, SfM-MVS and solid model can quantify and shape a single tree with low cost and high time resolution easily. This study is only for a single tree, Therefore, in order to apply it to a larger scale, it is necessary to follow up research to develop it, such as convergence with various spatial information data, improvement of quantification technique and flight plan for enlarging green space.

Due to the rapid growth of mobile devices and applications, mobile cloud computing is becoming an important platform in the development of cloud services. However, the mobile cloud computing is facing many challenges in terms of the computing resources and communications. One of them is the performance issue between mobile devices and cloud server. In the paper, we implemented a hadoop-based android mobile application, called mobile TPC-C, and used it for evaluating the performance aspect between mobile devices and cloud server. The mobile TPC-C was implemented based on the existing TPC-C, to make it possible to execute on top of android mobile devices. The performance measurement using mobile TPC-C was executed on various transactions while changing the number of mobile clients. By comparing it to the evaluation on the personal PC, we tried to point out the important aspects affecting the performance improvement between mobile clients and cloud server.

Google provides mapping services using satellite imagery, this is widely used for the study. Since about 20 years ago, research and business using drones have been expanding. Pix4D is widely used to create 3D information models using drones. This study compared the distance error by comparing the result of the road construction site with the DSM data of Google Earth and Pix4 D. Through this, we tried to understand the reliability of the result of distance measurement in Google Earth. A DTM result of 3.08 cm/pixel was obtained as a result of matching with 49666 key points for each image. The length and altitude of Pix4D and Google Earth were measured and compared using the obtained PCD. As a result, the average error of the distance based on the data of Pix4D was measured to be 0.68 m, confirming that the error was relatively small. As a result of measuring the altitude of Google Earth and Pix4D and comparing them, it was confirmed that the maximum error was 83.214m, which was measured using satellite images, but the error was quite large and there was inaccuracy. Through this, it was confirmed that there are difficulties in analyzing and acquiring data at road construction sites using Google Earth, and the result was obtained that point cloud data using drones is necessary.

This paper presents the implementation of altitude and attitude measurement algorithm using stereo camera for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Depth images are generated by calibrating the stereo cameras, and converted into 3D point cloud data. By applying a plane fitting algorithm to the resultant point cloud, altitude from ground level, and roll and pitch angles are extracted. To verify the performance, experimental results are provided by comparing with those of the motion caption system.
With industrial development, industrial products became more refined and upscale, resulting in increased necessity for manufacturers to come up with a method to check whether products have been produced to meet the needs of the customer. For thisreason, attention was drawn to industrial photogrammetry to obtain data rapidly without contacting the target object. In this study, the experiment has been conducted with the O-2A aircraft to determine the applicability of industrial photogrammetry.

This paper is to verify the effectiveness of 'Hybrid Disaster Management Strategy' that integrates 'RTM(Real-time Monitoring) based On-line' and 'UAV based Off-line' system. For landslide prone area where sensors were installed, the conventional way of risk management so far has entirely relied on RTM data collected from the field through the instrumentation devices. But it's not enough due to the limitation of'Pin-point sensor'which tend to provide with only the localized information where sensors have stayed fixed. It lacks, therefore, the whole picture to be grasped. In this paper, utilizing 'Digital Photogrammetry Software Pix4D', the possibility of inference for the deformation of ungauged area has been reviewed. For this purpose, actual measurement data from RTM were compared with the estimated value from 3D point cloud outcome by UAV, and the consequent results has shown very accurate in terms of RMSE.

This paper investigates applicability of Microsoft $Kinect^{(R)}$, RGB-depth camera, to implement a 3D image and spatial information for sensing a target. The relationship between the image of the Kinect camera and the pixel coordinate system is formulated. The calibration of the camera provides the depth and RGB information of the target. The intrinsic parameters are calculated through a checker board experiment and focal length, principal point, and distortion coefficient are obtained. The extrinsic parameters regarding the relationship between the two Kinect cameras consist of rotational matrix and translational vector. The spatial images of 2D projection space are converted to a 3D images, resulting on spatial information on the basis of the depth and RGB information. The measurement is verified through comparison with the length and location of the 2D images of the target structure.

UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are widely used for maintenance and monitoring of facilities. It is necessary to acquire a high-resolution image for evaluating the appearance state of the facility in safety inspection. In addition, it is essential to acquire the video data in order to acquire data over a wide area rapidly. In general, since video data does not include position information, it is difficult to analyze the actual size of the inspection object quantitatively. In this study, we evaluated the utilization of 3D point cloud data of bridges using a matching between video frames and reference photos. The drones were used to acquire video and photographs. And exterior orientations of the video frames were generated through feature point matching with reference photos. Experimental results showed that the accuracy of the video frame data is similar to that of the reference photos. Furthermore, the point cloud data generated by using video frames represented the shape and size of bridges with usable accuracy. If the stability of the product is verified through the matching test of various conditions in the future, it is expected that the video-based facility modeling and inspection will be effectively conducted.
More than 70% of Korean Peninsula is consisted of mountains, so that lots of roads, rail-roads and tunnel, which play a pivotal role in the industry activity, are existed along the rock-slope and in the rock-mass. Thus,it is urgent that tegration of management system through the optimum survey and design of rock-slope excavation, proper stabilization method and database of rock-slope. However, conventional methods have shortcoming with the economy of survey time and human resources, and the overcome of difficulties of approach to the in-situ rock-slope. To overcome the limitation of conventional method, this paper proposed the development of remote measurement system using Terrestrial Laser Scanning System. The method using Terrestrial 3D Laser Scanning System, which can get 3D spatial information on the rock-slope and2)Dept. Geosystem Engineering, Kangwon National University, Korea tunnel, has an advantage of reduction of measurement time and the overcome of difficulties of approach to the in-situ rock-slope/dam/tunnel. In the case of rock-slope, through the analysis of 3D modeling of point-cloud by Terrestrial Laser Scanning System, orientation of discontinuity, roughness of joint surface, failure shape and volume were successively achieved. in the case of tunnel face, through reverse-engineering, monitoring of displacement was possible.
