Robust Features and Accurate Inliers Detection Framework: Application to Stereo Ego-motion Estimation

  • In this paper, an innovative robust feature detection and matching strategy for visual odometry based on stereo image sequence is proposed. First, a sparse multiscale 2D local invariant feature detection and description algorithm AKAZE is adopted to extract the interest points. A robust feature matching strategy is introduced to match AKAZE descriptors. In order to remove the outliers which are mismatched features or on dynamic objects, an improved random sample consensus outlier rejection scheme is presented. Thus the proposed method can be applied to dynamic environment. Then, geometric constraints are incorporated into the motion estimation without time-consuming 3-dimensional scene reconstruction. Last, an iterated sigma point Kalman Filter is adopted to refine the motion results. The presented ego-motion scheme is applied to benchmark datasets and compared with state-of-the-art approaches with data captured on campus in a considerably cluttered environment, where the superiorities are proved.

  • 본 논문은 잡음이 많이 존재할 경우 특징 보상 기법들의 불완전한 추정 방법으로 인하여 발생할 수 있는 불확실성 정보를 음성 인식의 디코딩에 반영해 줌으로써 좀 더 인식 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법에 대한 연구이다. 기존의 특징 보상 기법들은 현재 시간에서의 깨끗한 특징 파라미터를 추정하는 단일점 추정 기법들이 대부분이다. 하지만 낮은 SNR 환경에서의 잘못된 추정 파라미터들이 음성 인식 엔진의 입력으로 사용될 경우 성능이 저하되기 때문에 추정된 파라미터의 불확실성 정보를 이용하여 디코딩을 해주면 추정 오류를 보완해줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 Aurora-2 DB를 활용하여 적용된 기법의 성능 향상을 확인한다.

  • This paper describes the development of the sensor interface and driver program for a point of care (POC) device. The proposed pac device comprises an ARM9 embedded processor and eight-channel sensor input to measure various bio-signals. It features a user-friendly interface using a full-color TFT-LCD and touch-screen, and a bluetooth wireless communication module. The proposed device is based on the system on a programmable chip (SOPC). We use Altera's Excalibur device, which has an ARM9 and FPGA area on a chip, as a test bed for the development of interface hardware and driver software.

  • This paper aimed at analyzing the psychology of the people who tunes the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire. The theory of unconscious desire to approach human psychology has two features. One point is that it can be applied only to human beings in the sense that animals does not have the unconscious. The other is that we can categorize some types of underlying unconscious desire instead of seeing human desire as the sundry desires according to the specific target. In this paper, we looked at the characteristics of each type of data obtained through interviews for people to tune the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire.

  • A novel, maskless, low-volume bumping material, called solder bump maker, which is composed of a resin and low-melting-point solder powder, has been developed. The resin features no distinct chemical reactions preventing the rheological coalescence of the solder, a deoxidation of the oxide layer on the solder powder for wetting on the pad at the solder melting point, and no major weight loss caused by out-gassing. With these characteristics, the solder was successfully wetted onto a metal pad and formed a uniform solder bump array with pitches of 120 ${\mu}m$ and 150 ${\mu}m$.

Studies on the Fiber Orientation Distribution Function and Mechanical Anisotropy of Thermally Point-Bonded

  • Current efforts to establish links between geometrical features and mechanical performance of nonwoven fabrics in general, and of point-bonded (spot-bonded) nonwovens in particular, would be served significantly by the measurements of Fiber Orientation Distribution Function (ODF) and tensile modulus which occurs during controlled-deformation experiments. Image analysis technique (using the Fast Furier Transform) is used to quantify the fiber orientation distribution. The results suggest that, within a typical window of processing conditions, ODF has a significant influence on the mechanical anisotropy. The data also suggest that mechanical anisotropy of thermally point-bonded nonwovens is likely to be governed by different stress mode according to the applied macroscopic tensile direction.

영상분할과 특징점 추출을 이용한 영역기반 영상검색 시스템 (A Region-based Image Retrieval System using Salient Point Extraction and Image Segmentation)

  • 대부분의 영상색인 기법에서는 영상의 전역 특징값을 이용한다. 그러나 이러한 방법은 영상의 지역적인 변화들을 담아내지 못하기 때문에 만족할 만한 격과를 제공하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방법으로 영상의 특징점(salient point)과 영상분할을 이용하여 중요영역(important region)을 추출하는 새로운 영역기반 영상검색 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 특징점 추출 기법은 기존의 방법과 비교하여 빠르고 정확한 추출 결과를 보여준다. 선택된 영역에서 추출된 칼라와 질감 정보를 이용하여 검색한 결과는 칼라나 질감 정보의 전력 특징값을 이용한 검색 방법의 결과보다 크게 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

한계변형률 개념을 활용한 터널안전성 평가 (Tunnel Safety Assessment by using the Concept of the Critical Strain in the Ground)

  • In this study, an application method of critical strains concept for tunnels' safety by using the values of measured displacements which are obtained in the field is discussed. The aim is to: (1) study on the engineering meanings of critical strains concept by reviewing the previous researches and application examples with measured displacement values; (2) study on the engineering reasonability of critical strains concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering and a geotechnical engineering; (3) study on the features of ground deformation due to tunneling and reciprocal relation between total displacement and measured displacement; (4) evaluate a tunnel safety by using domestic measurements collected in the field; and (5) re-evaluate the control criteria which were previously used in the field, with the view point of critical strains concept. Consequently, it was confirmed that critical strains in the ground has a reasonability and a possibility of unified or common concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering.

Relationship between Fiber Orientation Distribution Function and Mechanical Anisotropy of Thermally Point-Bonded Nonwovens

The data also suggest that mechanical anisotropy of thermally point-bonded nonwovens is likely to be governed by different load transfer mechanism according to the applied macroscopic tensile direction.

마천석재의 물리적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study of Physical Characteristic on Machun Building Stone)

  • 본 연구논문에서는 우리나라 주요 석재인 마천석 원석을 경남 함양군 마천면 기흥리에 위치한 마천석재, 덕우석재을 방문하여 원석과 판석을 색상, 조직, 구성광물, 입도의 차이에 따라 마천석 원석 17개를 채취하였다. 본 현장에서 채취한 시료에 대한 비중. 공극율. 흡수율. Point Load Test, 삼축압축시험, Brazilian Test, 암석학적 시험 및 분석, 화학적 시험 및 분석을 통해 마천석 원석의 물리적 특성을 규명하여 석재의 용도에 따른 타당성을 파악하는데 목적이 있다.
