A Study on the Development of Expert System for Pneumatic Vacuum Equipment Design (공압 진공장치 설계를 위한 전문가 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Pneumatics is widly used in the industrial implementation, in the operation of air-powered actuators and the control devices needed in their operation. However, there are many empirical factors in pneumatics design, it might cause excessive design of pneumatic components. For that reason, we developed VDES(Vacuum Design Expert System) for the economic design of pneumatic vacuum equipment. VDES is achieved with CLIPS(C Language Integrated Production System) and knowledge base that contains a number of facts and rules for pneumatic vacuum design. Forward chaining and depth first search technique are used in this system. Appling VDES to the actual field, this system is verified to be a good efficiency and could be applied to the field of pneumatic vacuum equipment design.

  • The purpose of this review was to introduce a new training concept as pneumatic training method and how to apply the principles. Uses the new resistance, especially air powered that invisible, intangible, along with training on how to contribute to broadening their horizons, while attempts have been passed. Provide transition training methods in accordance with the trend of the times, and why these changes may be in the form of outside-free for theoretical consideration. From weight resistance, hydraulic, isokinetic exercise, and to pneumatic training why justification should apply for these training methods are presented also suggested the superiority of pneumatic training. In the near future, newly developed training method will be appear. In conclusion, it will be contribute to sports by concerning and applications to cutting edge training

  • The pneumaic systems are widely applied to chemical factory of fire dangry and factory automation. by using compressed air, it is difficult to dynamics action analysis that the pneumatics system acts to nonlinear motion through orifices and valve flow. This paper was studied to a nonlinear chararistics of pneumaic spring, damper and absorber of pneumaic cushion cylinder.

Internal Flow Characteristics of Simulated Dual Pulse Rocket Motor by Using the Hot Gas and Cold Gas (Hot Gas와 Cold Gas를 이용한 모사 이중펄스 로켓 추진기관의 내부 유동 특성)

  • Dual pulse rocket motor is a variant of solid rocket motor with two propellant grain separated by a pulse separation device. The major performance of such a rocket motor is influenced by the change in the hole area of pulse separation device to nozzle throat area ratio. In this study, we performed flow analysis to investigate the internal flow characteristics according to the pulse separation device hole area to nozzle throat area ratio change. Gases used flow analysis were used combustion gas of HTPB/AP composite propellant and nitrogen gas. Flow analysis results of the dual pulse rocket motor were validated by comparison with experimental results of pneumatics. Commercial CFD code ANSYS FLUENT 14.5 is used in this study to simulate flow analysis.

Evaluation of Plantarflexion Torque of the Ankle-Foot Orthosis Using the Artificial Pneumatic Muscle (인공공압근육 엑츄에이터를 이용한 족관절 보조기의 족저굴곡 토크 평가)

  • Ankle-foot orthosis with an artificial pneumatic muscle which is intended for the assistance of plantarfelxion torque was developed. In this study, power pattern of the device in the various pneumatics and the effectiveness of the system were investigated. The pneumatic power was provided by ankle-foot orthosis controlled by user‘s physiological signal, that is, muscular stiffness in soleus muscle. This pneumatic power can assist plantarflexion torque of ankle joint. The subjects performed maximal voluntary isokinetic plantarflexion motion on a biodexdynamometer in different pneumatics, and they completed three conditions: 1) without wearing the orthosis, 2) wearing the orthosis with artificial muscles turned off, 3) wearing the orthosis activated under muscular stiffness control. Through these experiments, we confirmed the effectiveness of the orthosis and muscular stiffness control using the analyzing isokinetic plantarflexion torque. The experimental results showed that isokinetic torques of plantarflexion motion of the ankle joints gradually increased in incremental pneumatic. The effectiveness of the orthosis was -7.26% and the effectiveness of the muscular stiffness control was 17.83% in normalized isokinetic plantarflexion torque. Subjects generated the less isokinetic torques of the ankle joints in wearing the orthosis with artificial muscles turned off, but isokinetic torques were appropriately reinforced in condition of wearing the orthosis activated under muscular stiffness control(17.83%) compared to wearing the orthosis(-7.26%). Therefore, we respect that developed powered orthosis is applied in the elderly that has weak muscular power as the rehabilitation equipment.

Pressure and temperature change in air cylinders in charged or discharged case

  • In pneumatic systems the temperature changes during operation owing to air compression or expansion, friction of air movement and friction between solid interface. The temperature change usually ha undesirable influence on process. To attain higher quality of pneumatics, studies in thermo-fluid dynamics is needed. This paper presents experimental results anti theoretical analysis on the temperature change by air charge and discharge to cylinders, which has no piston yet. The temperature increase by charge shows a strong, dependence on axial location along the cylinder, which is proved in theoretical analysis. The temperature decreases by discharge shows rather uniform in the cylinder, which is also proved by theory.
