Transcatheter Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus with a Amplatzer$^{(R)}$ Vascular Plug in Two Dogs (개에서 Amplatzer$^{(R)}$ vascular plug를 이용한 동맥관개존증의 폐쇄 2 증례)

  • A 9-month-old, intact female Maltese dog and one-year-old, intact female beagle dog were presented with continuous heart murmur. These 2 dogs were diagnosed as patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) based on the two-dimensional echocardiography and angiography. Due to the large shunt size, commercially available ductal occlude device was used for transcatheter occlusion of PDA. After Amplatzer$^{(R)}$ vascular plug placement, cardiac murmur was abruptly disappeared in Maltese dog and mildly decreased in beagle dog. Complications and safety after the procedure were evaluated regularly in these 2 dogs. This is first clinical application of Amplatzer$^{(R)}$ vascular plug for transcatheter closure of PDA in two dogs in Korea.

Comparison of Shiitake Productivity in Sawdust Media According to the use of Sawdust, Plug-shaped and Liquid Spawn (톱밥종균, 성형종균 및 액체종균을 사용한 표고톱밥배지에서의 생산성 비교)

  • This study was made to investigate the difference of the shiitake productivity according to the use of sawdust, plug-shaped and liquid spawn. Contamination of medium was confirmed by eye. There was no contamination in the liquid spawn treatment. And, contamination rates in the sawdust spawn and plug-shaped spawn were 6.7%, respectively. Productivity of fruit-bodies was 725.1 g from sawdust spawn, 726.2 g from plug-shaped spawn and 573.9 g from liquid spawn until 3rd flushing of fruit-bodies. The number of fruit-bodies was 57.4 per medium of sawdust spawn, 64.3 plug-shaped spawn and 45.1 liquid spawn. At yield per medium, the percentage of media producing over 1,000 g was 13% in plug-shaped spawn and 7% in liquid spawn. However, there was no medium producing over 1,000 g of fruit-bodies in sawdust spawn. Fruit-bodies of $600{\sim}900g$ were yielded from 79% of sawdust spawn treatment, 53% plug-shaped spawn and 33% liquid spawn treatment. When compared the productivity of fruit-bodies, liquid spawn treatment appeared lower than sawdust spawn and plug-shaped spawn treatment at 1st flushing, but appeared higher than the others at 2nd and 3rd flushing.

  • 초고압 지중송전선로에 적용되는 가교절연 케이블은 전기적 측성의 우수성과 유지보수의 용이성 때문에 확대적용되고 있다. 345kV급 지중송전선로는 장거리 계통에 적용이 되고 있으며, 이에 따라 접속재부분의 개발도 중요하게 되었다. 배전선로에 사용되던 Plug-in 종단접속재를 송전용 가스중종단접속재(EBG)에 적용함으로써 선로 결합 시에 사용되는 부품의 수를 줄이고, 작업공정의 단순화를 이룰 수 있었다. 아직 국내제품으로는 초고압 Plug-in 종단접속재가 실계통에 적용된 경우는 없으나 이번 220kV용 Plug-in 종단접속재를 개발함으로서 당사의 기술력 확보를 이룰 수 있었으며, PMJ와 마찬가지로 세계적인 인증기간인 네덜란드 KEMA에서 제품에 대한 신뢰성 인증을 받았다.

Measurements of Equivalence Ratio in the Spark Plug Gap and Its-Effects on Combustion Under Stratified Mixture Conditions in a Constant Volume Chamber (정적 연소실에서 성층화된 혼합기 조건하의 점화 전극사이 당량비 측정과 연소 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate only the effects of the stratified mixture distribution on initial flame propagation and combustion characteristics, the instantaneous equivalence ratio in the spark plug gap and combustion pressure were measured simultaneously In a constant volume chamber, To induce the stratified propane-air mixture distribution near the spark plug, counter-flow typed mixture injection system was used under the constant mean equivalence ratio $\Phi$$\_$mean/= 1.0 The instantaneous equivalence ratio was measured by a single-shot Raman scattering with narrow-band KrF excimer laser. The measuring error was within the limit of $\pm$ 3.5% provided that the proposed method was applied to the measured Raman signals. Judging from mass fraction burned derived from the measured pressure, the optimum combustion characteristics were shown under the condition that the local equivalence ratio in the spark plug was near 1.28$\pm$0.04, and these characteristics were more remarkable at the initial stage of combustion.

  • Circumstances require improving diesel engine, and many studies have been done in constant volume chamber(CVC). Because the combustion mechanism of a diesel engine has many difficulties with non-homogeneous nature, there has been a limitation to analyzing the combustion mechanism with CVC. Studies are often given in a real engine, but also it has difficulties in modifying configuration of combustion chamber etc. To get more easy way for mote engine-like test, a rapid compression mechanism has been introduced. This study addresses to designing a rapid compression expansion machine(RCEM) driven by compressed air, and to applying it on IDI diesel combustion chamber which has a glow plug. RCEM is introduced first and its characteristics are tested, then spray/combustion characteristics of diesel spray impinging on a glow plug in RCEM combustion chamber are investigated. The results show active combustion in the system employing spray impinging on a glow plug so as to improve combustion efficiency.

  • Recently, lots of joining methods of thin metal sheets are being developed in order to improve joint quality and productivity in manufacturing area. Current existing welding methods are continuously challenged as new materials and smaller thickness of metal sheets are required. In this study, laser plug brazing process was investigated as a new joining method of thin metal sheets. A CO2 laser system with automatic feeding of filler metal wire and flux was developed, and laser plug brazing experiments were conducted. The brazed joints were analyzed using various methods.

  • 개발된 Plug-In MCCB를 저압용 부스바에 설치하여 온도 특성을 분석한 결과 모든 상(phase)에서 기준 범위보다 적은 값을 나타냈고, 가장 높게 측정된 곳의 온도 역시 $13.7^{\circ}C$ 이었다. 또한 단시간 전류 시험 및 기계적 동작 시험 후의 온도 상승 시험에서도 $18.5^{\circ}C$로 측정되어 모든 부분의 특성이 양호한 것을 알 수 있다.

  • Plug-In MCCB는 전원부의 연결 단자가 없으며, 차단기 후면에 설치된 하우징 형태(housing type)의 플러그 유닛으로 부스바에 원터치(one touch) 설치 및 분리 등이 가능하다. 그러므로 차단기의 교체 시간이 짧고, 전원 복구가 신속하여 설비의 효율적 운용에 기여할 수 있다. 차단기의 후면에 있는 플러그 유닛이 동 부스바에 연결되었을 때 저항 특성을 초저항측정기(Resistance Tester)로 분석하였다. 3상 3선식 플러그인 배선용차단기를 동 부스바에 설치했을 때 R-phase과 플러그 단자 사이의 접촉 저항은 $0.51m{\Omega}$으로 확인되었다. 즉, 개발된 Plug-In MCCB를 이용하여 부스바에 설치할 때 접촉(속)부의 전기적 특성이 우수한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Knock and misfire, kinds of abnormal combustion, are highly undesirable effect on the internal combustion engine. So, it is important to detect these avnormal combuition and control the ignition timing etc. to avoid these mal-effect factors in real engine system. In this study, the system which detects the knock and the misfire using by spark plug is presented. This system is based on the effect of modulation breakdown voltage(BDV) between the spark gaps. The voltage drop between spark plug electrodes, when an electrical breakdown is initiated, depends on the temperature and pressure in combustion chamber. So, we can detect knock and misfire that produce changes in gas temperature and pressure (consequently, its density) using by BDV signal change which carries information about the character of combustion.
