Through numerical experiment using simplified OSU-1D PBL(Oregon State University One-Dimensional Planetary Boundary Layer) model and field measurement, we studied the impacts of vegetation canopy on heat island that was one of the characteristics of local climaate in urban area. it was found that if the fraction of vegetation was extended by 10 percent, the maximum air temperature and the maximum ground temperature can come down about 0.9${\circ}C$, 2.3${\circ}C$, respectively. Even though the field measurement was done under a little unstable atmospheric condition, the canopy air temperature was lower in the daytime, and higher at night than the air and ground temperature. This result suggests that the extention of vegetation canopy can bring about more pleasant local climate by causing the oasis, the shade and the blanket effect.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of consumers' usage of functional golfwear which is widely used in the current sportswear market. The study was carried out on 225 golfers in Busan and KyungNam area based on the demographics such as gender, age, occupation, and income. The collected data was processed with SPSS 14.0 program using frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. In the results of the analysis, golfers did not show high reliability and satisfaction on the functional golfwear. In the results of the most function-required golfwear items, there were shirts, pants, footwear, gloves, windbreaker, innerwear etc. in order. Most of golfers answered that the function of golfwear was required for pleasant and comfort golf activity. Therefore, it is necessary for golfwear makers to develop consumer-oriented golfwear products which are reliable and satisfiable to golf consumers.

Working in a hazardous environment can decrease work efficiency and cause a variety of occupational diseases. To prevent occupational accidents and build a refreshing and pleasant work environment, therefore, it is necessary to develop an application system through which a worker's safety can be monitored on a realtime basis and provide related services. Recently, smartphones have become very popular across the nation, with over 10 million users. As a result, a variety of application services have been developed and provided in diverse sectors. This study proposes a system structure to develop application services which monitor work environment using smartphones and examines its applicability through the implementation of server and client interfaces.

This study investigated automatic malodor exhaust ventilating methods in a water closet system. Even though these days advanced equipment has been applied into the toilet in a building or house, the odor due to the evacuating the bowels should be carefully removed to maintain clean and pleasant toilet. Therefore, this study thoroughly considered the main causes of the malodor problems and suggested the best applicable methods to the closet system.

In this study, through the roadside interview, drivers'feeling about fatigue has been evaluated synthetically and systematically when they drive a vehicle according to their sex, vehicle type, driving career, etc. Also, with the human sensibility evaluation technique, we grasped the human sensibility structure for the fatigue in a vehicle and as an objective evaluation index for comfort and fatigue in a vehicle, we developed a sensibility database. Through the survey and research, extracting and understanding the importance of factors which have influence on the fatigue in driving can be used as basic data that can suggest more comfort and pleasant driving environment to drivers. Also, human sensibility database regarding to the comfort and fatigue in a vehicle can be used as basic data in ergonomic vehicle design, evaluation for seat , comfort seat development, development of vibration reduction method and so on.

The purpose of the study is to clarify orange image in the modem fashion. So kinds of costume sample being visual power in orange have been selected from photographs in fashion magazines and divided into the tones : mist(Vp, Lgr, L), bright(p, B), vivid(S, V, Dp). The study was measured by using 27 semantic differential hi-polar scales. The subjects were 50 female students majoring in clothing and textiles, The data was analyzed using the statistical SPSS package. The data were collected using self-administred questionnaires and analyzed by MDS, Cluster Analysis, ANOVA Sheff test and Regression analysis. The major findings of this research were as follows. 1. Evaluaion dimension of orange was classified as Feminine-Mannish, Lively-Mist.2. There were significant difference in visual evaluation of tones.3. The image effect on Preference, Buying needs, Pleasant and Riches was consist of complicated sensibility.

Recently people have come to demand more pleasant environments as the quality and right of life have been improved. Along with industrial development, the tendency is causing a growing number of disputes concerning environmental damages. Of many kinds of environmental damages, noise and vibration pollution rising at construction fields are particularly the most common subjects of public grievance. Thus the government launched the Environmental Dispute Mediation Committee in 1991, purposing to utilize fully the promptness and expertise of administrative institutes and to resolve environmental damage disputes promptly and fairly by interfering in them actively. With the prompt and fair dispute mediations of the committee, people came to be able to get fair and prompt remedies for damages in their health and fortune by environmental pollution. Therefore, by analyzing dispute mediation cases on construction noise and vibration damages, we will suggest basic material on which efficient actions can be taken for public grievances happening in the future.

The importance of insulating material becomes greater recently in order to attain a quieter life style amidst today's sound noise such as transportation, industrial machinery. The demand for insulating material is increasing due to the increase of noise space. It is reasonable to predict the transmission loss and the absorption of the insulating Material before arranging it in the appropriate places and attaining a Pleasant acoustic environment inside the space. The experiments of insulating material's were performed using Impedance tube Type 4206 T of B&K, and VIOLINS which is a FEM Program of LMS was used for the analysis

Since the apartment was built by Korea National Housing Cooperation in 1961, the amount of its supply has been increased greatly, especially from the late 70's. Recently there are many ongoing studies regarding sustainable construction apartment in Korea, one of the research is developing sustainable apartment that has longer life cycle. Also according as life's quality of residents is upgrading, complain for impact noise and plumbing system noise from upstair or downstair are increasing more and more. To solve this complains, government established impact noise standard as lightweight impact noise of 58dB, heavyweight impact noise of 50dB and presented standard floor system or recognition floor system to satisfy this impact noise standard. So in this study, the aim is to develop dry ondol access floor system for sustainable apartment which have pleasant and quiet life environment.

Concept mapping was used to understand the structure of customer's cafe experience. In January and February, 2009, interviews were conducted with 26 subjects residing in the Seoul-Gyeonggi area. One hundred-two statements describing cafe experience were extracted from the interview transcripts, and were sorted and rated for their importance. Concept mapping software was used to generate a concept map denoting seven dimensions of cafe experience('comfort', 'place of my own', 'pleasant atmosphere', 'personal coffee preference', 'service', 'uniqueness', and 'value'). The results provided meaningful dimensions of cafe customers' experience, which ought to be considered when planning a cafe.
