This study delves into the interaction dynamics between lateral notches and inclusions, providing valuable insights for more effective engineering of structural components. By employing the finite element method, the research analyzes how inclusions affect the dimensions and contours of the plastic zone under confined plasticity conditions. Several parameters were investigated, including loading influence, the distance between the inclusion and notch tip, inclusion stiffness, and the distribution of Von Mises stress, as well as normal stresses σxx and σyy, and Comparison between different stresses. Examining stress distributions under varying loading conditions reveals a significant intensification, particularly near the crack tip. Moreover, the presence of an inclusion near the notch base reduces both the size and shape of the plastic zone. The distribution of the stresses for different loads knows an increase in intensity, especially near the crack head, which is the most requested by the tensile forces on its upper part, which can cause either the crack's initiation or opening, inducing significant stresses.
Sandwich panels which are having the both sides are bonded with a heat insulating material with an iron plate are used as factories, warehouse structures as advantages of convenience in construction at economic efficiency of material cost. However, in a panel structure constructed by continuous joining of sandwich panels, a joint portion where a panel and a panel are connected is generated. The joint part is a part which is easily vulnerable to fire because flames easily flow into the melting and deformation of the iron plate during fire. The flames flowing into the panel induce diffusion of fire by rapid burning, causing damage of human life and property. In this research, we developed a flame spread prevention plate to prevent spreading of sandwich panel. This is an improvement of the workability by the anti-spreading construction method of the existing previous research, it can be applied independently to the connecting part where the panel and the panel are coupled, designed to prevent inflow and spreading of flame did. The actual fire test of the test method of KS F ISO 13784-1 of the sandwich panel specimen was conducted and the burning behavior corresponding to the presence or absence of application of the flame spread prevention plate was grasped at the panel connection part and its effect was measured. Inserting a fire spreading plate into the test result panel connecting part is measured by delaying the flashover, prevention of collapse of the specimen, and temperature rise of the opening, effectively improving the fire safety of the panel structure It was confirmed as a method that can be secured. It is judged that panel structure will contribute to ensuring fire safety by applying the fire spread prevention construction method of various methods ensuring the workability and economy of panel connection vulnerable to fire.

Near sea trawlers of Korea sometimes catch pelagic fishes like file fish by using midwater trawl gear even though usually catch bottom fish. It is reasonable to use the specific otter board as well as specific net in bottom trawling and in midwater trawling respectively. But, the trawlers are so small ranging 100 to 120GT, 700 to 100ps that it is very complicated to use different otter board for bottom trawling and for midwater trawling. The otter board for bottom trawling. is also used for the midwater trawling without any change even though the net is changed into the specific one. Although the otter board in the midwater trawling should be lighter than that for bottom trawling, to use otter board for bottom trawling directly for the midwater trawling without any change makes the net easily touch the sea bed and also make the horizontal opening of the otter boards be limited owing to the length of warp in the southern sea of Korea, main fishing ground of midwater trawling, which is 100m or so in depth. That is why the otter board for the midwater trawling should be made lighter than that in the bottom trawling, even if temporary. The authors carried out an experiment to achieve this purpose by attaching a large styropol float on the top of the otter board. In this experiment, underwater weight of the otter board was 630kg and buoyancy of the float was 510kg. To determine the depth and horizontal opening of the otter board, two fish finder was used. A transmitter of 50KHz fish finder was set downward through the shoe plate of otter board to determine the elevation of otter board from the sea bed, and a transmitter of 200KHz fish finder was set sideways on the starboard otter board to be able to detect the distance between otter boards. The obtained results can be summarized as follows: 1. The actual towing speed in the experiment varied 1.1 to 1.8 m/sec. 2. The depth of otter board was within 41 to 25m with float on the top and 45 to 26m without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the depth 68-44m with float and 74-46m without float in case of the warp length 150m. This fact means that the depth with float was 9-4% shallower than that without float. 3. The horizontal opening between otter boards was within 34-41m with float and 30-38m without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the opening was 44-50m with float and 37-46m without float in case of the warp length 150m. This fact means the opening with float was 10% greater than that without float in case of the warp length 100m, and 15% greater in case of the warp length 150m. 4. The horizontal opening between wing tips by using the otter board with float was 1m greater than by without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the opening by with float was 2m greater than by without float in case of warp length 150m. From this fact, it can be estimated that the effective opening area of the net mouth by using the otter board with float could be made 10% greater than by without float in case of warp length 100m, whereas the area with float 20% greater than by without float in case of warp length 150m.

Thermal dissipation was investigated for poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) composite films containing graphite and multi wall carbon nanotube(CNT) powders as filler materials. After mixing PMMA with fillers, solvent, and dispersant, the pastes were prepared by passing through a three roll mill for three times. The prepared pastes were coated $15{\sim}40{\mu}m$ thick on a side of 0.4 mm thick aluminium alloy plate and dried for 30 min at $150^{\circ}C$ in an oven. The content of fillers in dried films was varied as 1, 2, and 5 weight % maintaining the ratio of graphite and CNT as 1:1. Raman spectra from three different samples exhibited D, G and 2D peaks, as commonly observed in graphite and multi wall CNT. Among those peaks, D peak was prominent, which manifested the presence of defects in carbon materials. Thermal emissivity values of three samples were measured as 0.916, 0.934, and 0.930 with increasing filler content, which were the highest ever reported for the similar composite films. The thermal conductivities of three films were measured as 0.461, 0.523, and $0.852W/m{\cdot}K$, respectively. After placing bare Al plate and film coated samples over an opening of a polystyrene box maintained for 1 h at $92^{\circ}C$, the temperatures inside and outside of the box were measured. Outside temperatures were lower by $5.4^{\circ}C$ in the case of film coated plates than the bare one, and inside temperatures of the former were lower by $3.6^{\circ}C$ than the latter. It can be interpreted that the PMMA composite film coated Al plates dissipate heat quicker than the bare Al plate.

This study was performed to document the morphologic relationships between non-ossifying fibroma (NOF) and fibrous cortical defect (FCD), as well as to determine any new diagnostic clues. Eighteen patients with 21 NOFs and 14 patients with 15 FCDs found incidentally on radiography were included. The authors prospectively performed CT, MRI, or both on all subjects. The study included size, location, sclerotic property and contour of the periphery, as well as calcification of the matrix of the lesions and the distance from the lesion to the growth plate. The morphologic characteristics were thoroughly reviewed focusing on the presence of the cortical tract in the lesions. The size of the lesion and the distance from the growth plate were not correlated with the patient' age. The presence of the cortical tract was noted in 18(85.7%) out of 21 NOFs, and 10(66.7%) out of 15 FCDs. The presence of the cortical tract was correlated with the longitudinal length of the lesion and the distance from the growth plate. The presence of the cortical tract may be one of the important characteristics in NOF and FCD, and if the diagnosis of bony lesions is obscure by radiologic finding, its exsitence may be a good indicator of diagnosis for NOF or FCD.
Buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) have excellent hysteretic behavior while buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBFs) are susceptible to residual lateral deformations. To address this drawback, a novel self-centering (SC) BRB with Basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) composite tendons is presented in this work. The configuration and mechanics of proposed BFRP-SC-BRBs are first discussed. Then an 1840-mm-long BFRP-SC-BRB specimen is fabricated and tested to verify its hysteric and self-centering performance. The tested specimen has an expected flag-shaped hysteresis character, showing a distinct self-centering tendency. During the test, the residual deformation of the specimen is only about 0.6 mm. The gap between anchorage plates and welding ends of bracing tubes performs as expected with the maximum opening value 6 mm when brace is in compression. The OpenSEES software is employed to conduct numerical analysis. Experiment results are used to validate the modeling methodology. Then the proposed numerical model is used to evaluate the influence of initial prestress, tendon diameter and core plate thickness on the performance of BFRP-SC-BRBs. Results show that both the increase of initial prestress and tendon diameters can obviously improve the self-centering effect of BFRP-SC-BRBs. With the increase of core plate thickness, the energy dissipation is improved while the residual deformation is generated when the core plate strength exceeds initial prestress force.
This study was carried out to test feasibility of a granule fertilizer applicator for rapeseed seeding in paddy fields. The metering plate of a conventional applicator was modified for rapeseed seeding. The modified plate had new three seeding openings with total area of $342mm^2$. Average target discharging rates ranged from 6.3 to 21.0 g/s and correlated with opening areas. Application patterns of the rapeseed seeding showed M-shape. The coefficients of variation of the application showed 70.5% at 0.99 m/s of forwarding speed and 14.3 g/s of a discharge rate, and 77.7% at 1.72 m/s of a forwarding speed and 8.23 g/s of a discharge rate. The coefficients of variation in the direction of transverse of the tractor ranged from 7.3 to 47.7%. In rapeseed seeding tests using the applicator, seed damages rates were less than 15% due to the agitator, the seed hopper and the seeding plate break. Therefore, improvements of the applicator blow heads and seeding equipments were required in order to apply rapeseed efficiently.
Objective: This study was conducted to investigate changes in microbiological quality according to various storage conditions in the drinking process of bottled mineral water. Methods: Heterotrophic plate counts ($21^{\circ}C$ and $36^{\circ}C$) and pathogenic indicators (total coliforms, fecal Streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella, and Shigella) were analyzed in commercial bottled mineral water stored under different conditions ($4^{\circ}C$, $20-25^{\circ}C$, $36^{\circ}C$) after injecting saliva. The heterotrophic plate counts were analyzed twice per day for the first week and once per day for the three weeks after. Pathogenic indicators were analyzed at the beginning and end (initial and final). Results: The results of the microbiological quality of the bottled mineral water in contact with saliva showed that heterotrophic plate counts ($21^{\circ}C$) had a tendency to be sustained or decrease slightly after 10 days. Heterotrophic plate counts ($36^{\circ}C$) had a high population in the initial samples and gradually decreased at $4^{\circ}C$ storage, but it remained constantly high in storage at $20-25^{\circ}C$ and $36^{\circ}C$. In the general drinking condition, the population was slightly higher than the control, but the overall trend was similar. Conclusions: As a result of the microbiological quality of mineral bottled water in contact with saliva during the process of drinking, heterotrophic plate counts ($21^{\circ}C$ and $36^{\circ}C$) showed a high population compared to the control, which was only opened and not in contact with saliva. In some samples, pathogenic indicators were also detected. Therefore, it is desirable to consume bottled mineral water as soon as possible after opening.

This study examined the dynamic characteristics of the gate to identify the optimal gate installation direction according to the installation direction. A 1:31 scale model was constructed for a 47.5m prototype gate using acrylic. The scaled weights were tuned by adding lead weights. The first step was to measure the natural frequencies of the model gates, and compare them with finite-element analysis of the prototypes as a calibration. The scaled model was tested in a 1.6 m wide concrete flume for two orientations to determine the effects of the gate orientation on structural vibrations. Vertical vibrations were measured under a range of operational conditions, including a range of bottom opening heights and different upstream and downstream water levels. For large bottom opening heights in the normal direction, relatively large vibrations were induced by vortices shed at the plate bottom that would strike the horizontal truss member. This phenomenon was avoided in the reverse direction. For small bottom opening heights in the normal direction, these vibrations were caused by a suction force that developed at the gate bottom. The gate model in the reverse direction was preferred because of its low overall vibrational response under general gate opening and flow level combinations.
This study was performed to measure the changes of the mandibular movement and the masticatory muscular activities - anterior temporal and masseter muscle of both side - reflected by intentional increase of anterior guidance angie. For this study, 5 volunteers (3 males and 2 females with average age of 24.0) were selected. Each volunteer had Angle's classification I and did not have any missing tooth except third molar and any extensive restorations. Metallic guide plate was made at volunteer's working model fabricated by improved dental stone and cemented to the palatal surface of maxillary central incisor using resin cement(Panavia $21^{(R)}$) and then adjusted not to give any occlusal interferences at intercuspal position. The activity of masticatory muscles and the changes of mandibular movement were recorded by EMG and Sirognathograph in Biopak analysing system(Bioresearch Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA). Measurement was done at before experiment, immediatley after placement, 1 week after placement, immediately after removal, and 1 week after removal. The results were as follows: 1. Moderate phonetic disturbance and mild headache were occured to 3 volunteers for 2 days after setting and 1 volunteer had positive reaction to percussion and slight midline diastema. But all of these clinical signs were diappeared 1 week after removal and the other volunteer did not have any special clinical sign. 2. In the EMG of the mandibular rest position, the mean value of anterior tempotal muscle was increased immediately after placement(p<0.01) and then decreased 1 week after placement(p<0.05) and increased 1 week after removal(p<0.05) but not recovered as before experiment. The mean value of masseter muscle was decreased during the experiment period. 3. In the EMG during mandibular protrusive movement, all muscular activity was decreased during the experiment period. Reduced activity was not recovered 1 week after removal(p<0.03). 4. During the habitual opening, anteroposterior movement of mandible was decreased immediately after placement(p<0.05) and then increased 1 week after placement but not statistically significant(p>0.1). Vertical movement was not shown significant difference during the experiment period(p>0.1). Lateral movement was decreased immediately after placement(p<0.05) and then increased 1 week after placement but not recovered as before experiment. The opening and closing velocity of mandible was shown minor changes but not statistically significant. 5. During the habitual opening, anteroposterior movement of mandible was decreased 1 week after placement(p<0.05) and then increased immediately after removal and recovered 1 week after removal as before experiment. Vertical movement was not shown significant changes. Lateral displacement of mandible was increased continuously and recovered 1 week after removal. Opening velocity was temporarily increased immediately after removal but recovered and closing velocity was not shown significant changes. 6. During the right side chewing, anteroposterior movement of mandible was increased immediately after removal but recovered and vertical movement was not shown statistically significant results. Lateral displacement and velocity of mandible were not shown significant results. 7. During the left side chewing, the changes of mandibular movement pattern were not shown statistically significant results.
