FEM을 이용한 초음파 용착부의 온도분포 해석 (Temperature Distribution Analysis of Welding Parts in Ultrasonic Welding by Using FEM)

  • Ultrasonic metal welding, unlike the conventional welding techniques, does not require an external heat source, welding rod, or filler metal. Therefore, ultrasonic metal welding is not only economical but also environment-friendly, and hence, it has been receiving much attention. In ultrasonic welding, heat is generated because of the plastic deformation and the friction between both surfaces of the welded materials. It is important to identify the heat-affected zone by measuring the temperature generated at the weld. In this study, the effects of the welding pressure, welding time, and vibration amplitude on the temperature distribution in the weld were evaluated by performing a transient thermal analysis of the heat generated during ultrasonic metal welding. The experimental results indicated that the temperature of the weld tends to increase with the welding time and vibration amplitude. However, an increase in the pressure does not affect the temperature of the weld largely.

Ti 합금 형단조에서의 소성 해석 및 전단 밴드 분석 (A Numerical Analysis for Plastic Deformation of a Ti Alloy and a study for Shear Band Analysis)

  • 유도탄의 성능 향상을 위해 추진기관의 경량화가 요구되고 있으며 연소관 모타 마개의 경우, Ti 합금 (Ti-6Al-4V)이 사용되고 있다. 제작 과정 중에 열간 형단조 공정이 이용되나 이 과정에서 Ti alloy의 좁은 성형 온도 구간 관계로 단조시 국부적 소성 변형 집중에 의한 결함이 단조품의 다수 생성되며, 심한 경우 전단 파단까지 이르고 있다. 성형 과정에서 금형과의 접촉에 의한 Ti 합금 온도 하강이 전단 파단 발생과 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있으며 따라서 각 단조 조건에 따른 Ti 합금의 내부 및 표면에 대한 변형 및 온도의 분포가 관찰되었다. 아울러 전단 밴드 형성에 대한 별도의 분석도 포함되었다.

  • Currently, the most important purpose in designing automobile is environment-friendly and safety performance aspect. CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) of the advanced composite materials as structure materials for vehicles, has a wide application in lightweight structural materials of air planes, ships and automobiles because of high strength and stiffness. In this study, experimental investigations are carried out for CFRP single and double hat shaped section member in order to study the effect of various stacking condition. They were cured by heating to the appropriate curing temperature($130^{\circ}C$) by means of a heater at the vacuum bag of the autoclave. The stacking conditions were selected to investigate the effect of the interface numbers. The CFRP single and double hat shaped section members which manufactured from unidirectional prepreg sheets were made of 8ply. The static collapse tests performed and the collapse mode and energy absorption capability were analyzed according to interface number.

지역 문화적 관점에서 본 가우디의 자연주의 건축 및 디자인 - 후기 작품을 중심으로 - (Naturalism in Gaudi's Architectural Designs from Perspective of regional Culture - Focusing on buildings that Gaudi designed in his late years -)

  • This study investigates and analyzes natural traits in Gaudi's architectural designs on the assumption that the naturalism in his architectural designs has been built heavily on regional cultural background. In particular, focusing on four buildings Gaudi designed in his late years, this study distinguishes between natural traits found in ornaments and details, and natural traits as organic expression of form. This study shows, first, with regard to natural traits in ornaments and details, organic motives were applied to patterns, plastic objects, and parts of the building. Second, natural traits in organic expression of form were reflected by typifying $Catalu\tilde{n}a$ regional nature, using curved lines of organic shapes and realizing lively natural creatures. It is remarkable that Gaudi developed his architectural designs as unique magic naturalism based on his imagination. And In this century 'Regional Culture' gets more important in architectural designs. Gaudi's architectural works can be appreciated to represent very well $Catalu\tilde{n}a$ regional cultural identity by using properly its natural motives and objects.

디스크 브레이크 허브 볼트의 억지 끼워 맞춤에서 발생하는 소성변형의 해석 (An analysis of plastic deformation occurring by interference fit of disk brake hub bolt)

  • A brake system in automobile is one of the important parts that directly affect the safety of passengers. Particularly, disk brake module is applied to almost all kinds of automobile brake system due to its remarkable braking power and braking distance. In the disk brake module of an automobile, the bolt for tire wheel is assembled to the disk brake hub by interference fit (bolt pressing process). The process induces small deformation whose range is within tens of ${\mu}m$ and this deformation may cause the runout badness of the whole disk brake module, and even braking problems such as judder or squeal phenomena which makes the loss of braking efficiency. In this study, bolt pressing fit into hub was simulated by $ANSYS^{TM}$, a commercial structure analysis program. Also, the aspect and the cause of hub displacement were analyzed and the solution for decreasing runout of hub was proposed.

  • 이 논문은 세탁기의 진동제어를 위한 MR 댐퍼의 설계과정을 제시한다. 이 연구에서는 MR 댐퍼의 작은 크기와 함께 높은 댐핑력과 저전력을 소비하도록 설계되었다. MR 댐퍼는 전단모드를 사용하도록 제안되었고 빙햄모델을 이용하여 최설설계를 진행하였다. 이 과정에서 멀티코일이 댐핑력을 높이기 위해 적용되었고 최적화된 구조를 찾아내기 위하여 APDL을 이용하여 최적설계가 수행되었다. 이 후 최적의 수치 값들을 통해 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다. 이 때 슬라이딩모드 제어기를 적용하여 시뮬레이션과 제어실험을 모두 수행하였다. 실험의 결과로부터 MR 댐퍼가 세탁기의 진동제어를 위한 요구 댐핑력을 만족시켜줌을 확인하였다.

미세패턴 성형을 위한 사출 압축 성형 공정 기술 (Injection/compression molding for micro pattern)

  • The injection molding is very effective process for various plastic products due to its high productivity. It is also good fur precise products like optical parts. Various thermoplastic materials are also available with this injection molding process. In recent, however, as the overall size of the product increases and micro or nano scale of patterns are applied to the products, we now have some problems such as low fidelity of the replication of the pattern, high molding pressure, or warpage from the in-mold stress. Injection/compression molding is studied to overcome those problems in molding large thin plate with micro pattern array on its surface. An injection compression mold is designed to 3 pieces mold for side gate. We install 4 pressure transducers and 9 thermocouples to measure the melt pressure and surface temperature in the cavity during the process. As a result, the maximum molding pressure for injection compression molding is reduced to 1/3 compared to injection molding and the uniformity of the pressure in the cavity is enhanced by about 15%.

알터네이터 스풀 고속 검사를 위한 자동화 비전시스템 설계 (Design on Automatic Vision System for Fast Alternator Spool Inspection)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차 핵심부품 중 하나인 알터네이터 수풀의 육안검사를 대체하기 위한 머신비전시스템을 설계하는 데 목적이 있다. 플라스틱 사출물인 알터네이터 스풀의 경우 일반적으로 미성형, 찍힘, 뜯김, 크랙 등의 불량 유형이 발생한다. 스풀을 고속으로 전수검사하기 위하여 설계의 실패 사례를 예로 들었고, 이를 통해 최적의 고속 자동화 머신비전 시스템을 설계하고 2차 협력 업체인 중소기업을 위해 저비용 검사 시스템에 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 3차원 설계 소프트웨어인 Pro-Engineer와 CATIA가 사용되었다. 개발 제작 될 시스템은 산업현장에 적용하여 절대적 판정의 안정성을 도모하고, 생산성 향상을 위한 사이클 타임을 충족하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

산화막 CMP에서 리테이닝 링의 인서트 재질이 연마정밀도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Insert Materials of Retaining Ring on Polishing Finish in Oxide CMP)

  • CMP is the most critical process in the manufacture of silicon wafers, and the use of retaining rings, which are consumable parts used in CMP equipment, is increasingly important. Since the retaining ring is made of plastic, it is not only weak in strength but also has the problem of taking a long time for the flattening operation of the ring itself performed before the CMP process, and of the imbalance of force due to bolt tightening causing uneven wear. In order to solve this problem, the retaining ring and the insert ring are integrally used, and the flatness of the retaining ring may be affected depending on the material of the insert ring. Also, the residual stress generated in the manufacturing process of the insert ring may cause distortion of the ring, which may adversely affect the precision polishing. In this study, when the insert ring is made of Zn or STS304, the thickness variation and the flatness of the retaining ring are compared and, finally, the material removal rate is analyzed by polishing the wafer by the oxide CMP process. Through these experiments, the effects of the insert ring material on the polishing accuracy of the wafers were investigated.

하이브리드 자동차용 엔진 내부의 전자식 수온조절기의 감온성 및 유량제어 정확도 향상을 위한 수치 및 실험적 연구 (Numerical and Experimental Study to Improve Thermal Sensitivity and Flow Control Accuracy of Electronic Thermostat in the Engine for Hybrid Vehicle)

  • High-efficient HEV Engine cooling systems reflects variable coolant temperature because it can decrease the hydrodynamic frictional losses of lubricated engine parts in light duty conditions. In order to safely raise the operating temperature of passenger cars to a constant higher level, and thus optimize combustion and all accompanying factors, a new thermostat technology was developed : the electronically map-controlled thermostat. In this work, various crystalline plastics such as polyphthalamide (PPA) and polyphenylenesulfide (PPS) mixed with various glass fiber amounts were introduced into plastic fittings of automotive electronic controlled thermostat for the purpose of suppressing influx of coolant into the element and undesirable opening during hot soaking. Skirt was installed around element frame of automotive electronic controlled thermostat for improving thermal sensitivity in terms of response time, hysteresis and melting temperature. To validate the effectiveness and optimum shape of skirt, thermal sensitivity test and three-dimensional CFD simulation have been performed. As a consequence, important improvement in thermal sensitivity with less than 3℃ of maximum coolant temperature between opening and engine inlet was obtained.
