  • In order to find out the relationship between spring phytophenological index and temperature index for the past nine years (2010~2018), this study identified the relationship between temperature changes and trends in spring phytophenological index of sprouting, flowering and leaf unfolding of Pinus densiflora Siebold & Zucc., Larix kaempferi (Lamb.) Carrière, Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb., Rhododendron mucronulatum Turcz., Lindera obtusiloba Blume and Acer pseudosieboldianum (Pax) Kom. in Daegu Arboretum, Palgong mt., Juwang mt. and Gaya mt. The change in temperature was caused by an increase in the monthly average temperature between March and April compared to February for nine years, and the average temperature of Daegu Arboretum and Palgong mt. were higher by region. The sprouting, flowering and leaf unfolding were the fastest of the Lindera obtusiloba and the slowest of the Pinus densiflora for each species, and the fastest plant season in Daegu arboretum came. SPI (Spring Phytophenological Index) tends to advance by -1.267~-6.151/9 years, with the largest Pinus densiflora (-6.151/9 years), with the lowest rate of change for Rhododendron mucronulatum (-1.267 days/9 years). Species which shows significant values in sprouting, flowering and leaf unfolding is Rhododendron mucronulatum and Pinus densiflora, which correlate with the mean temperature of January to March. As a result of checking the time series change of SPI, the change rate in the four regions was all negative and the phenolocal index was all accelerating. Among them, the rate of change was greater in inland areas such as Daegu arboretum, Palgong Mt. and Gaya mt. and the rate of change was slightly lower in the case of Juwang mt., which is somewhat distant.

  • The study was conducted to investigate quality changes by different shelf temperature after storage at $5^{\circ}C$ for 15 days. Fruits on the shelf at room temperature produced more $C_2H_4$ and $CO_2$ than those at $5^{\circ}C$ by 30% and seven times, respectively. By 10 days on the shelf, flesh firmness was held better at $5^{\circ}C$, while it was softened very rapidly at $13^{\circ}C$ and room temperature. In contrast, at low shelf temperature, contents of soluble solid did not show significant difference except that, in room temperature, it showed tendency to decrease. Sucrose content tended to be higher on the third day of marketing. At room temperature, however, all the sugar contents decreased from 10 days of marketing. Small quantity of ethanol and acetaldehyde were detected on the first day of marketing at $5^{\circ}C$ and $13^{\circ}C$, but they were high at room temperature. Also, these contents increased significantly with prolonging the shelf period and with rising marketing temperature.

  • In Irkutsk region the plants of spring wheat (Tr. aestivum) grow in three agro-ecological zones: steppe, forest-steppe and subtaiga. Due to this reason, the paper determines the coefficients of correlation between the indicators field germination of seeds, plant safety, productivity, temperature and moisture content of the plant habitat for each zone. The zonal moisture saving features of soil treatment for growing wheat plants (Tr. aestivum) are discussed on the basis of these data.

  • In the thermal power plant, it is difficult to maintain strict control of the steam temperature in order to avoid thermal stress, because of variation of the heating value according to the fuel source, the time delay of changes in main steam temperature versus changes in fuel flow rate, difficulty of control on the main steam temperature control and the reheater steam temperature control system owing to the dynamic response characteristics of changes in steam temperature and the reheater steam temperature, fluctuation of inner fluid water and steam flow rates widely during load-following operation. Up to the present time, the PID controller has been used to operate this system...

  • Heat stroke in a dog is a life-threatening syndrome characterized by a high body temperature over $41^{\circ}C$, by the central nervous system dysfunction, and by multiple organ dysfunction. A 11-month-old male American Pit Bull Terrier was presented to clarify the cause of death to diagnostic laboratory. This dog showed clinical signs such as high body temperature ($42^{\circ}C$), severe tachypnea, hematochezia, epistaxis and hemoptysis after transportation at hot summer time. At necropsy, there were hemorrhages in skin, serosa of stomach and small intestine, and also dark red fluid in lumen of intestine. Histopathologic examination revealed extensive hemorrhages in stomach, muscle, skin, and tongue. In microbiology, pathologic bacteria such as Pasteurella, Boedetella, Salmonella, Clostridium, and circulating virus in Korea such as CDV, CIV, CAV, CHV, CCV, CPIV were negative except CPV. There were many gross and microscopic lesions suggesting hest stroke while pathologic agents and related lesions were not detected. Therefore we diagnosed this case as heatstroke.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual conditions, to find problems, and to present an improvement plan of interior landscape in the subway stationis. Moreoiver, it will presume the possibilties to develop the subway and ways to utilie underground space effectively. The results are summarized as follows A light intensity was recorded 0-100 Lux as the lowest light and 500 Lux below as the highest in 61 subway stations. An average temperature of 12 $^{\circ}C$and an air humidity of 38% were recorded over a 4 month period from January to April, but includes a drastic variaton between -8.5$^{\circ}C$ and 21.5$^{\circ}C$. Soil acidity of pH 7 below and soil moisture of 1-2 wet degree were apeared in subway stations mostly. Plant forms consisted of artificial flower & flower. Plant species were recorded at a total of 54 species and appeared in the order of Araucaria heteropylla, Ophiophogon jaburan, Aspidistra elatior cv. 'Asahi' and Hedera helix. Plant height was, for the most part, below 0.5m. Plant species that was fined of conditions were Palm, Camellia japonica, Araucaria heterophylla as a high plant, dracaena fragrans, dracaena deremensis cv. Wakneckii as a middle plant, and Ophiopogon jaburan, Hedra helix, ytomium falcatum, Aspidistra elatior cv. Asahi as a low plant. It used to water materials such as small pool, small cascade, water cycles and natural materials such as natural rock, small rock, sand, bark and animal materials such as squirrels, birds, goldfish as an object for plants in the subway stations. From these actual conditions, First of all, It must make up physical environments such as light, temperature humidity, soil for plant growth, and is important to chooce suitable indoor plants and draw up systematic management in the subway environments. Also, it change plants frequently and uses variable objects for subway stationi individuatism, Moreover, indoor plants with strong environmental adaptation abities such as shade tolerance, drought tolerance and cold tolerance need to develope variable species possibly. If these improvements occur, utilization and amenity of subway stationis will increase, according to the use of interior landscape.

  • In the present investigation, bacterial isolates from infected apple trees causing apple canker during winter were studied in the northern Gyeongbuk Province, Korea. The pathogen was identified as Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae (Pss) through various physiological and biochemical characterization assays such as BIOLOG, gas chromatography of fatty acid methyl esters, and 16S rRNA. Bioassays for the production of phytotoxins were positive for syringopeptin and syringomycin against Bacillus megaterium and Geotrichum candidum, respectively. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method enabled the detection of toxin-producing genes, syrB1, and sypB in Pss. The differentiation of strains was performed using LOPAT and GATTa tests. Pss further exhibited ice nucleation activity (INA) at a temperature of -0.7℃, indicating an INA+ bacterium. The ice-nucleating temperature was -4.7℃ for a non-treated control (sterilized distilled water), whereas it was -9.6℃ for an INA- bacterium Escherichia coli TOP10. These methods detected pathogenic strains from apple orchards. Pss might exist in an apple tree during ice injury, and it secretes a toxin that makes leaves yellow and cause canker symptoms. Until now, Korea has not developed antibiotics targeting Pss. Therefore, it is necessary to develop effective disease control to combat Pss in apple orchards. Pathogenicity test on apple leaves and stems showed canker symptoms. The pathogenic bacterium was re-isolated from symptomatic plant tissue and confirmed as original isolates by 16S rRNA. Repetitive element sequence-based PCR and enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus PCR primers revealed different genetic profiles within P. syringae pathovars. High antibiotic susceptibility results showed the misreading of mRNA caused by streptomycin and oxytetracycline.
