This study is a basic study to develop standards and foundations for the establishment of traditional Korean gardens and aims to understand the current status of their components and expression methods and identify problems by investigating Korean gardens developed overseas. Nine sites were selected for field surveys and monitoring assessments. The results suggest: Overall, there is a lack of popular generality and temporal characteristics among these gardens, as they are mere reproductions of historical elements. There have also been errors of traditional and experimental interpretations. In terms of design aspects, traditional gardens are primarily compilations of landscape elements and certain ornamental features. In terms of landscape, they tend to be insufficient in parlaying appropriate spatial scales and experiential hierarchies; they also lack considerations of the context of neighbouring landscapes. In terms of guidance and information delivery, there is a worldwide lack, in general, of recognition of Korean gardens, given the broad variety of names attached to them; therefore, name standardization is recommended. In terms of development, management, and use, it is essential that designers suggest plant types, as well as alternatives, that match the characteristics of a given space; a receptive attitude vis-$\grave{a}$-vis the characteristics of their use is required.
This study aims to provide power generating plants with eco-efficiency information. To implement the purposes, of study, both DEA(Data, Envelopment Analysis) model and interview were incorporated in terms of methodologies. To analyze the managerial efficiency, total labor cost and number of employees were considered as input factors. CO2, NOx, and water also were considered as input factors to analyze eco-efficiency. Both annual total power product and annual total revenue were used as output factors. CRS(Constant Return to Scale) and VRS(Variable Return to) model were facilitated in this analysis. According to the findings, most of the power plants were evaluated as 'Efficient'' taking into consideration of average value, both 0.928 from CCR model and 0.969 from VRS model. 7 DMUs including DMU3 and DMU12 are efficient out of 35 DMUs relatively, other DMUs are inefficient. For results of inefficient output factors distribution, it was found that inefficiency for NOx was marked relatively higher than CO2. In order to improve the eco-efficiency in the power plants in the long term, the target amount of Co2 as well as NOx reduction needs to be properly proposed in consideration of particularity of power plants. In the long run, renewable energy, alternative fuels should be adapted to reduce the eco-inefficient.

The artificial lightweight aggregate (ALA) was manufactured in a rotary kiln at $1125^{\circ}C$ using green body formed by pelletizing the batch powder composing of coal bottom ash (CBA) produced from power plant, clay and dredged soil (DS). The TCLP (Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure) results showed that the dissolution concentration of heavy metal ions of ALA fabricated in this study was below the limitation defined by the enforcement regulations of wastes management law in Korea. The ALA containing 60$\sim$70 wt% CBA had a bulk density of 1.45$\sim$1.49 and a water absorption of 17.2$\sim$18.5 %. The impact values for oven-dry state and saturated-surface dry state of ALA were 27.4$\pm$1.3 and 23.4$\pm$2.6 % respectively. The 28-days compressive strength of concrete made with various ALA was $22.7\sim27.8 N/mm^2$. The slump of concrete with ALA containing CBA 60 and 70 wt% were 7.9 and 14.3 cm respectively. The unit weight of concrete made with any ALA fabricated in this study was satisfied with the standard specifications of lightweight concrete for the civil engineering and construction presented by Korea as below $1.84 ton/m^3$.

Anaerobic digestion is a collection of naturally occurring processes that convert organic matter and liquid residue, so-called digestate. The use of digestate biofertilizers is one of the important components of integrated nutrient management, as they are renewable sources of plant nutrients for sustainable agriculture. Seeds of Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) were germinated in different concentration of Chlorella in order to investigate it's the effect of Chlorella on growth parameters, seed germination and early growth. The experiment using plug tray was conducted at the green house placed in the Sangji University. The experiment consisted of nine treatments including different concentrations of Chlorella sp. culture solution and non-treated control. The germination percentage at the treatment with 25% Chlorella sp. culture solution was greater than that of control. The 50% concentration of Chlorella sp. culture solution was found to promote a better seedling growth in terms of shoot length, fresh weight and dry weight compared to the anaerobic digestate. Results showed that the best concentration of Chlorella culture solution was achieved by the 50% concentration of Chlorella culture solution treatment. As a conclusion, the application of Chlorella culture solution was found to be able to promote the germination and shoots growth of Italian ryegrass.

Interest and demand in heavy cargo logistics is increasing and becoming more diverse as economic scales have expanded and manufacturing activity has increased. Although cargo moves via maritime and/or land transportation, there is currently insufficient research on the actual condition of heavy cargo logistics. The purpose of this study is to carry out an in-depth analysis of heavy cargo laws, systems, logistics patterns, and current transportation status. By proposing measures to solve existing problems, this study aims to make an important and ongoing contribution to the scarcely studied field of heavy cargo logistics. The result of regression analysis on the main seven factors show that transportation frequency and law/system structure have a positive effect on working conditions. Furthermore, the result of correlation analysis on the main seven factors show that the cargo weight variable is highly positively correlated with cargo size. Also, the working conditions variable is highly positively correlated with the law/system structure. Detailed proposal measures to solve existing problems are summarized as follows. First, it is necessary to establish a clear concept of heavy cargo as numerous existing definitions differ. Second, laws and provisions relating to maritime and land transportation of heavy cargo need to be established and consolidated as current applicable legislation is insufficient. Third, the classification system for heavy cargo transportation needs improvement. Fourth, it is necessary to improve transportation performance statistics and the aggregate criteria system. Finally, the management system of heavy cargo also needs improvement.

The aim of this study was to collect the basic data for effective creation and management of hilly pasture. The investigation of flora and vegetation was conducted at 59 $relev\acute{e}s$ in hilly pasture of Daegwallyeong from 2014 to 2016. The vascular plants of the hilly pasture were 121 listed taxa which contain 38 families, 90 genera, 104 species, 13 varieties, and 12 subspecies. The biological type of the hilly pasture was determined as the $Th-D_4-R_5-e$ type. Twelve taxa were of naturalized plants composed of 5 families, 9 genera, 12 species. The urbanization index and the naturalized index were 3.7% and 9.9%, respectively. The vegetation types in the hilly pasture were classified into the following 3 communities: the Spiraea miyabei-Spiraea salicifolia community, the Persicaria thunbergii community, and the Agrostis alba-Phleum pratense community. The Agrostis alba-Phleum pratense community was classified into the following 5 subcommunities: the Poa pratensis subcommunity, the Artemisia princeps subcommunity, the Festuca ovina subcommunity, the Rumex acetosella subcommunity, and the typical subcommunity. Two factors (slope and EC) had the strongest impact on plant community distribution. Especially, the steep sloping sites (over $40^{\circ}$) did not play a crucial role in maintaining adequate pasture because of the invasion and establishment of shrubs.

The role of the botanical garden in securing biodiversity, responding to climate change, and sustainable development in modern cities is becoming more important. Private botanical gardens that lead the domestic botanical culture are declining due to complex reasons such as an increase of tourist destinations, lack of policy support, lack of introduction of advanced management strategies, and similar leisure activities to national and public botanical gardens. The Private Botanical Garden not only has a large number of plant species with high conservation value, but also provides various public utilities as a cultural and educational space and government efforts are needed to activate the operation of this amenity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of public functions provided by private botanical gardens using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). In this way, the government aims to provide a basis for policy and institutional support for private botanical gardens. The main results are as follows. First, public utility functions provided by private botanical gardens were recognized as 'preservation' (23.4%), 'recreation and tourism' (17.5%) and 'research' (16.6%) in order of analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Second, 'heritage value' (33.0%) and 'existence value' (32.5%) were recognized as significant among the values provided by private botanical gardens. Third, the willingness to pay (WTP) to preserve the public functions of the private botanical garden was 12,234 won. Based on this, the economic value of all private botanical gardens in the whole country was estimated, resulting in about 233.8 billion won. There is a need to revise laws and regulations related to financial support for the revitalization and quality improvement of private botanical gardens. It is also necessary to establish a cooperative operating system between national, public and private botanical gardens.

Due to the global warming and unstable abnormal climate changes, water resources differences between regions and water shortage are occurring. Therefore, the water resources management is becoming more important for the stable securement of future water supply and demand. Researches on Smart Water Grid (SWG), which is considered as a new method, that can stably secure and maintain the water resources, are actively being conducted but it is still in infancy. Thus, this study aimed to design SWG simulator based on GIS in order to provide integrated water information in web environment. The user's requirements were analyzed for system development and important functions such as SWG current situation checking, future prediction, filtration plant situation checking functions were designed and data expression techniques using GIS and HTML5 were applied to enhance the understanding of the users. Also, when the emergency situations occurred, the solving process of the situations are reproduced to check the solution process using scenario reproduction functions. Use-case, class, sequence diagram, which are a design for real system development and defines the system usage contents of users, were written, and the story board was written to check the final development contents. This study designed a SWG simulator in order to support the water maintenance reacting to climate changes. The development of system is expected to help securing information to deal with emergency situations such as water shortage and help the decision maker to make decision through reproduction of scenario. The major functions were designed for the convenience of water resource manager and producer but new contents for consumers must be developed to enable duplex information transmission.
Host plants of the Henosepilachna vigintioctomaculata are known as Solanaceae plants such as potato, tomato, eggplant and Lycium chinense. Henosepilachna vigintioctomaculata (Motschulsky) cause continuous damage from early June to mid-August in leaves of L. chinense under environmental-friendly management in Cheongyang, Chungnam. The developmental period of egg and larva of H. vigintioctomaculata were investigated. H. vigintioctomaculata were reared on L. chinense at several temperatures, for example, 15, 20, 25 and $30^{\circ}C$ in the laboratory. In addition, the control effect of 5 eco-friendly agricultural materials were examined. As results, hatching rate is the highest to 91% at $25^{\circ}C$. Egg periods were 10.8, 7.7, 5.1 and 3.7 days at each tested temperature, respectively. And the total developmental periods from egg to adult were 42.7, 26.3, 18.4 and 19.4 days at each tested temperature, respectively. Otherwise, their eclosion rates from pupa to adult were showed 58%, 77%, 85%, 65% at each tested temperature, respectively. As a result of the control effect, both adults and larvae of H. vigintioctomaculata were shown a high mortality to mixture with extract of Sophora flavescens, Chenopodium ambrosioides and Melia azedarach. Additional, larvae is shown high mortality to extract of Azadirachta indica and Cymbopogon nardus. Thus H. vigintioctomaculata might be controled by using plant extract of eco-friendly agricultural materials in due season.
Field experiment was carried out to obtain the basic information on the soil improvement with different improved methods on job's tears yield and soil properties in the newly-reclaimed land from 1985 to 1988. Job's tears yield, soil properties and annual changes of soil were investigated and analyzed. Soil bulk density and hardness of topsoil decreased from 1st year to 3rd year, but those increased in 4th year. Soil pH of topsoil had no differences in different soil depths and cultivated years. Average yield of job's tears in the integrated improvement plot was 2.16ton/ha. That was increased by 49% than the control plot. Crop yield was greatest in order of integrated improvement>subsoiling>phosphate>lime>compost>control plot. Correlation coefficients of job's tears yield with soil pH and organic matter content were higher significantly. Also those of subsoil were higher than topsoil. Ratios of annual changes of soil bulk density and hardness showed significant highly with job's tears yield. Also that soil pH was significant at 5 % level in the topsoil.
