This study begins by examining the reason for the lack of urban planning that takes the water cycle into consideration. While there are institutions that support environmentally friendly development or smooth water circulation, these designs are not reflected in planning nor in the real world. After reviewing foreign case studies, policy suggestions and possible policy implications for Korea are derived. In Korea, there is not a sufficient level of relevant laws or institutions systematically established to make it possible to deal with rainwater in a decentralized way. Instead, facility standards or guidelines are considered separately for the control of water and for preventing natural disasters. And even though an environmentally friendly approach is stipulated in relevant laws in terms of spatial planning, there are no planning systems or implementation tools to actualize this kind of approach. The factors that make decentralized rainwater management possible in urban planning are analyzed based on the case study of Germany. Germany requires developers to plan in order to achieve ecological urban development. In addition, as a detailed implementation tool to promote conservation of the water cycle, the law provides for various kinds of measures such as restrictions on the proportion of impervious surface area according to the use of the land, required compensation measures for environmental degradation following development, introduction of a fee for rainwater runoff and the establishment of ecological landscape planning. The actual reason these measures can be implemented however is the provision of planning guidelines and design criteria for rainwater utilization, absorption and containment, and the construction of a database for various environmental information.
Recently the ecosystem has been seriously damaged by reckless development. The Ministry of Environment is now shifting its policy from one of "end-of-pipe" management and being regulation-centered to one striving to be preparatory and self-regulating. The nature conservation plan has been focused on protecting only the wildlife, so a systematic conservation of the nationwide ecosystem is inherently limited. To go beyond this limit, the strengthening of the link between the natural environmental conservation plan and the land use development plan is necessary. This study first diagnosed the "AS-IS" status of the natural environment conservation planning process and then envisioned a "TO-BE" image of the organic link between that plan and the land/metropolitan development plan. In conclusion, it was determined that the system of planning should be reformed and the focus of the planning should be shifted from source oriented planning to spatial environment planning. A biotope map should be drawn during this process and the examination criteria, methodology, and drawing standards are needed. The central government and self-governing bodies should have reasonable roles and responsibilities, and cooperate for more efficient conservation planning.

This study proposes the Book-Curation service as part of the information service offered through school library websites. Also, this study aims to establish recommendation standards for curation prior to detailed system planning. For such service, the following tasks were carried out. First, the list of recommended books of existing systems were analyzed to identify the attributes that can be used for recommendation in the user and book information. Second, the analyzed attributes were utilized to establish 12 recommendation standards. Finally, a survey was carried out to identify the user preferences as to each standards. The results are as follows. First, the majority of students responded that curation service is necessary for using a library. Second, the top three standards are as follows: "best lending books based on the keywords of individual users"; "best lending books of the same year students"; "best lending books on the textbook-related reference booklist".

Purpose: The increase in patients requiring hemodialysis has resulted in an increase dialysis-associated infections risk. but there are no Renal Dialysis unit design standard meet specified safety and quality standards. Therefore, appropriate Establish standards and legal regulation is important for the provision of initial certification and maintenance of facility, equipment, and human resource quality. Methods: Literature survey on the design guideline and standards of Renal Dialysis unit design in Korea, U.S, Germany, Singapore, Hongkong, Dubai. Results: There are no established standards for facilities in dialysis units in Korea. To prevent infections in dialysis patients, necessary establish standards. Considering the domestic and overseas Health-care facilities standards, the major factors to be considered in the medical environment for Renal Dialysis Unit are as follows. First, planning to separate Clean areas(treatment area) from contaminated areas(medical waste storage area). Second, ensure sufficient space and minimum separation distance. Although there may be differences depending on the circumstances of individual institutions, renal dialysis unit consider the space to prevent droplet transmission. Third, secure infrastructure of infection prevention such as sufficient amount of hand hygiene sinks. Hand washing facilities for staff within the Unit should be readily available. Hand hygiene sinks should be located to prevent water from splashing into the treatment area. Fourth, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system for Renal Dialysis Unit is all about providing a safer environment for patients and staff. Implications: The results of this paper can be the basic data for the design of the Renal Dialysis Units and relevant regulations.
On the standards or elements of teaching evaluation, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) has carried out several research as follows : 1) establishment of observation elements for selecting examples of good mathematics instruction between 2001 and 2002, 2) development of the standards on teaching evaluation between 2004 and 2006, and 3) investigation on the elements of Pedagogical Content Knowledge including ‘teaching and learning methods and assesment' between 2007 and 2008. The purposes of development of mathematics teaching evaluation standards through those studies were to improve not only mathematics teachers' professionalism but also their own teaching methods or strategies. In this study, the standards were revised and modified by analyzing the results of those three studies (namely, evaluation standards) focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment'. For this purpose, seventh evaluation domains such as instruction involving instructional goal and content, instruction involving problem-solving activity, instruction involving learners' achievement level and attitude, instruction on communication skills, planning of assessment method and procedure, development on assessment tool, application on assessment result in class were new established. According to those seventh evaluation domains, elements on teaching evaluation focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment' were established.

Recently, as the importance of computational thinking(CT) education, the national curriculums of the world have been revised and the international comparative assessment studies have been conducted to evaluate the CT education effects. In this study, researchers compared and analyzed the achievement standards related to CT in Korean and U.S. curriculum. As a result, the number of CT related achievement standards is 16 in Korean and 21 in American. While Korean deals with more specific achievement standards of 'formulating and analyzing problems', American emphasized 'planning and evaluating solutions'. In terms of 'developing algorithms, programs and interfaces', both of them offer concrete related achievement standards, U.S. curriculum include more diverse and concrete practical achievement statements. The results of this study can be used to suggest improvements in practical aspects as well as contents in future Korean curriculum revision.

This study aimed to find and suggest the purpose of future plans, critical items on designing and Related standards to amend construction standards for domestic energy saving and environmentally friendly housings. It would also activate and increase the supplies of passive house minimizing the problems on current apartment housings in winter and reducing heating energy which brings fine dust pollution. After defining the standard model of Korean apartment housings(reference model), this study calculated the amount of heating energy demand per unit area annually as applying the yearly changed standards from 2008 to 2017 to existing standard model. It turned out that applying 2017 construction standards of energy saving and eco-friendly housings to reference model has saved up to 75% of heating energy demand comparing to the one applied 2008's. However, it still could not solve the fundamental problems such as winter fungus, condensation, freezing, freeze and burst, and insulation weakness space, and could not be free from fine dust particles. To solve them, this study suggested improved standards adding critical items on design related to outside insulation, cut off the heat-bridge, enforce air-tightness and heat change efficiency on heat recovery ventilator. As a result, it has reduced more than 10% of heat demand from 2017. It would be more than 90% of savings from 2008 if we make the amount of heat loss be zero on heat bridge on designing stage in the future.

The police substation includes work spaces for civil services, interviews, and meetings, etc, and private spaces for rest, showers and cafeterias and so on. Since a large number of rooms for each function should be installed in a relatively small building, it is important to develop an area standard for efficient space organization in consideration of the functional characteristics and usage patterns of each space. The purpose of this study is to suggest the way for improving the area standards for spaces in police substation based on the results of existing standards analysis and case study. For this objective, architectural documents of 161 police substations built after 2013 in Korea were comparatively analyzed. Sixteen of these facilities were selected for field survey and investigated how the workspace and private area were organized and used. The results of investigation showed that there were a number of problematic cases, such as spaces not installed or insufficient, spaces used for two or more functions, spaces installed even though they are not included in the standards. It was mainly due to the fact that several important spaces which had been installed in most police substations were not included in the existing standards. The ways for improvement were suggested like following four points: (1) Modifying the criteria for classifying facility size, (2) Modifying the lists of the required spaces, (3) Specifying the basis of calculation for each space in detail, and (4) Differentiating the way to organize spaces according to the facility size.
This study analyzed the process of development and verification of standards through the competency analysis of fashion accessories products in the development of 'National Competency Standards'(NCS), which was carried out in 2013 for the fashion industry. The NCS for fashion accessories production was developed through three Focus Group Interviews (FGIs) and fashion accessories production was defined as "the process of design, development and manufacture intended to produce items that improve the degree of completion of fashion products that are produced from textile fabric, knitted fabric, leather and other materials such as bags, belts, hats, gloves, scarves, neckties and socks with the exception of clothes". The competency unit for fashion accessories production was analyzed in 11 categories: development of design; development of materials; production of prototype samples; calculation of cost; determination of mass production model and price; planning of main manufacture process; ordering of materials; planning for mass production; preparation for mass production; mass production; and inspection of completed products, and the verification was carried out on development outcomes through a survey carried out of on-site personnel. This study recommends the following direction for future improvements based on an analysis of the development process of the NCS for fashion accessories production. First, future development of standards should first provide a rational category system for each area of fashion good production based on the production process, which should be followed by a detailed competency survey. Second, in order to ensure a more efficient verification survey, an expert for each competency unit should be designated for the develop standard to induce a more sincere response. Also the questionnaire should require supplementation in order to collect the various additional opinions of experts of the field. Finally, this study concludes that it is urgent to procure an education infrastructure and specialized professors in order to apply the competency standard for fashion accessories production to the education sector. This study also concludes that the government will be required to provide systematic and consistent support aimed at supplementing development and forming a firm collaborative working environment for the industry and academia in order to improve the current education environment and build a more field-oriented education environment.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop applicable standards for clinical dental hygiene practice in Korea and to evaluate their validity. Methods: Based on the standards for clinical dental hygiene practice developed in the United States and Canada, the standards were adapted to be applicable in Korea. The validity of the standards was evaluated by a self-writing questionnaire among 14 professors and 10 clinicians using a developed tool for evaluating the standards. A focus group interview was additionally conducted for clinicians to increase the validity of the standards. Descriptive statistics and Mann-Whitney test were performed using SPSS 25.0. To analyze the content of the focus group interviews, content analysis was conducted. Results: The standards for clinical dental hygiene practice consisted of five elements of professionalism for dental hygienists and a total of 28 items to perform the five stages of dental hygiene process of care (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and included conceptual meaning, clinical significance, and application methods with examples for each item. Conclusions: The standards for clinical dental hygiene practice developed in this study could contribute to standardizing dental clinical practices provided by dental hygienists. It is necessary to consistently improve the standards that are highly practical, to prevent oral diseases and maintain oral health of the public, based on the results of this validity evaluation.
