This paper has been studied a calibration techniques for monopole antenna in the frequency range 150 KHz to 30 MHz. The long wavelength associated with the low frequency, methods used to calibrate or characterize antennas at higher frequencies are not applicable. The equivalent capacitance substitution method uses a dummy antenna in place of the actual rod element See figure 1. for guidance in making a dummy antenna. Set up the matching network to be characterized and the measuring equipment as shown in Figure 2. Subtract the measured output of the matching network from the measured output of the signal generator and subtract -6 dB(for the 1 m rod). Measurements made at a sufficient number of frequencies number of frequencies to obtain a smooth curve of antenna factor.(fig 5.)

As a society rapidly advances in technology and industry, various demands for information arc increasing and becoming more specialized than every before. The college library can no longer restrict its service to the people or, the campus alone. There is no fundamental change in its place on a college campus, but it has an additional role to play: to meet the demands for information from the community outside of the campus. Thyre is no denying that there are public libraries meant to serve the comnlunity and some small spacialized libraries to support certain institutions. But it is also well known that these libraries are inadequate to satisfy the demands for information in a highly diversified and specialized soceity of today largely due to lack of facilities, funds. and personnel. Under these circdmstances, it is almost imperative that the college library open its door to the community. It was attempted in the article to point out the nccds of cooperation between the college library and the community for economic and intellectual advancement on thc campus and in the community. Various ways of making the college library available to the community werc also discussed.

A new health paradigm may be evolving that would place emphasis on the positive aspects of diet, identifying components that are physiologically active and that contribute to the prevention of disease onset. It has been increasingly difficult to evaluate the impact of new bioactive materials and food products on the well being of society. Thus, testing systems for both health function and toxicity have become very elaborate, complex, and interrelated, making their interpretation difficult and open to controversy. To select the proper starting materials, to screen the appropriate health functionality and to determine the efficacy of product, a reliable, reproducible, sensitive and predictive assay is required. Particularly, in uitro assay is the first stage in preclinical test on physiologically active materials and have many advantages in terms of time, cost and convenience. However, several factors as well as some limitations should be considered in this assay system. This presentation, therefore, will address the use of in uitro assays for evaluating physiological functionality of foods coupled with general consideration.
In the recent Internet environment, there are different competition patterns among competitors as it was before. As we see real world example such as Covisint in automobile industry and Exostar in aerospace industry, collaboration among competitors now takes place and industry-wide B2B marketplaces come into existence. Hence, we suggest the extended system dynamics simulation model based on Kim(2002)’s collaboration profit models in order to explain competitors’ collaboration in the e-business environment. After all, we investigate the necessity of collaboration between competitors, and show the presence of the optimal investment decision making to collaborate. We also show that the effect of collaboration is changed as varying the industry characteristics such as standardization and volatility.

Large amount of water is diverted annually for irrigation along the Yellow River. Owing to the tremendous sediment carried by the river , sediment deposits is an important problem in irrigation and drainage system. The sediment has to be taken out by machines from the irrigation system, otherwise water can not be available in the right place at the right time. In order to improve the sediment desilting efficiency, the sediments that settle in certain sites of a irrigation system must be removed by different desilting machines with special performance and working conditions. Those certain sites include : the diversion canal in the flood plain , the mouth of inlet, settling basin , irrigation and drainage system. In view of removal sediment above, the paper presents the ideas of type selection of desilting machines applied to certain sites. Proposals of making further improvement on performance for some desilting machines are also put forward.

Soil contamination in the United States is managed using a risk-based decision making process. In other words, we don't ask, 'how much soil contamination can be cleaned up\ulcorner' Instead we ask, 'how much contamination can be safely left in place\ulcorner' The determination of 'safe' levels of contamination is based upon the potential for exposure and the toxicity of the contaminants of concern in soil. Potential for exposure is determined by evaluating potential exposure pathways from source to receptor given current or reasonably anticipated land use. Soil cleanup goals are then calculated for any complete exposure pathways based upon toxicity and the route of exposure. In some cases, institutional or engineering controls are also used to limit the potential for exposure. In order to prevent a continuous degradation of environmental quality, risk-based cleanup approaches must be combined with strong contamination prevention programs. In addition, alternative risk management approaches should be incorporated into an overall risk reduction strategy.erall risk reduction strategy.
Today in modern Korea, the preferred modern social role for many modern women is that of modern housewife. This move to the role of housewife is a change in more than just a role; it also reflects a deep and fundamental change that has taken place in the social and economic roles of married women. This shift in economic activities and the gender roles they help produce speaks of a deep and profound process of transformation for all of Korea. Traditionally, a woman was a member of a family premised upon group production as well as group consumption. The role of jubu is derived almost exclusively from market forces and bases her identity and actions upon those forces. This distinction is crucial because it means Korean women are finding that they are no longer as central to the existence of the family. Modern life situations have altered a womans role by making consumption, not production by the woman herself, the keystone of modern families.
Manufacturing firms have adapted seriously the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) techniques which consider concurrently all factors related to the product development by using effective communications and sharing of information on product development processes. This study performed modelling and characterizing the data related to product manufacturing information for Design for Manufacture(DFM) evaluation and analysis. It adapted component-based development method for communicating and managing manufacturing information among distributed manufacturing organizations. Introducing component-based development offers safety and speed to network based system. This development using Unified Modelling Language(UML) provides efficient way for reconstruction and distribution of applications. Also, the integration of database and component into the internet environment enables to communicate and manage effectively manufacturing information for DFM evaluation and analysis at any place in the world. Therefore this system can make it more reasonable that evaluating, analyzing, and effective decision making of product design using DFM technique.
As therapeutic uses of radionuclides in nuclear medicine increases, the use of patient-specific methods for calculation of radiation dose becomes more important. In this manuscript basic methods and resources for internal dose calculations are outlined, with a focus on how current changes and advances are making more accurate and detailed, patient-individualized dose calculations possible. Most current resources make use of standardized models of the human body representing median individuals, but the use of image-based and more realistic models will soon take their place, and will permit adjustments to represent individual patients and tailor therapy planning uniquely for each subject.

This paper examines the pounding problem between adjacent decks subjected to strong earthquakes. The elastomeric bearings in an isolated bridge reduce the stresses on the superstructure and cushion the impact by transferring smaller seismic forces to the substructure. On the other hand, these bearings also allow large horizontal displacement of the superstructure due to seismic forces. Bridges having various supporting soil conditions and different frequency ratios between adjacent decks are investigated by numerical analysis. In the analysis, decision making is conducted whether the collision took place or not and, the magnitude of pounding force and the duration time of collision are obtained and the results are discussed.
