This study diagnoses whether main principals of New-Urbanism such as development of good community and walkable pedestrian route, restoration of regional identity and sense of the place, and mitigation of climate change strategy can be practiced in the community of alley as well.
This study is purposed to analyze of House Vision exhibition and projects in Japan. The contemporary residence has been planned and designed with fixed territory and boundary of rooms. According to the symposium of House Vision, the spatial boundary can be studied in the aspect of territory that molds the experience of residents. So, this study reviews Aldo van Eyck's concept of 'in-between'. Through the analysis, House Vision exhibition is revealed that the housing models present architectural characteristics of middleware and third place. The cognition of internal and external boundary stems from movements and activities of residents. That is the dwelling and residential space determined by users and residents. In this regard, 'in-between' of House Vision has structures(multilayer) causing various relationships to be perceived, so as to connect with the dwelling and activities of residents. As a result, it has relational meanings of sharing, as well as makes possible other community life to be done. According to the projects of House Vision, the units and cores have created the new connections and relationships between privacy and publicity. In conclusion, this research shows a new direction of the spatial strategies on House Vision exhibition in Japan.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experience of emotional labor of clinical nurses in medical institutes. Methods: A total of 26 nurses from 11 hospitals participated in the study. Six focus groups were organized and 4 to 5 nurses took part in each group. The compositional factors of groups included clinical experience, age, gender, work place and position. Data collection was conducted through focus group interview and it was proceeded by the time of data saturation. In this qualitative study, content analysis was conducted. Results: Five themes, 14 categories, and 33 subcategories, were emerged. The themes were 'Restrain themselves', 'Communion to the patients', 'Working environment provoking emotional tension', 'Respond to emotional events', 'Recovery of emotional energy'. Conclusion: Results indicated that surface acting of emotional labor such as, repression of personal desire and presenting the emotions that the organization ask nurse to express was related to psychosomatic symptoms, depression, burnout, poor job performance, increased mistakes, and low job satisfaction which eventually leads to nurses' turnover. In order to reduce negative influence of emotional labor, it is necessary to build positive organizational culture, to provide support from managers and co-workers. It is also important to improve work environment in order to do more deep acting since sharing emotions with patients can reduce the negative influence of emotional labor.
Purpose: This study was done to uncover the nature of hope experienced by clients with chronic schizophrenia. Method: A phenomenological approach developed by Van Manen was adopted. All the countries in RA II (Asia Region in WMO) welcome the establishment of a Web site dedicated to agricultural meteorology, because it is believed that the best way to improve and speed up the flow of information is the use of the Internet and the establishment of a Web site. In providing recommendation for the promotion and improvement of the AgroMeteorological service in RA II, a couple of key suggestions were proposed: (a) Exchanges of data and AgroMeteorological knowledge between member countries and between RAs, (b) Exchanges of experts between member countries as a necessary way to share the knowledge, and (c) Joint research between member countries to solve common problems in AgroMeteorological affairs. In order to meet the above requirements for RA II, an AgroMeteorological information network will be the most critical and dynamic aspect in sustainable agriculture in this region. In addition, the establishment of a Core AgroMeteorological station, recommended by CAgM of WMO, will require its own information sharing systems for communication among member countries. Inevitable use of information technologies (IT) such as information networks, databases, simulation models, GIS, and RS for regional impact assessment of environmental change on AgroEcosystem will be enforced. Thus, the regional Internet-based Agrometeorological information network has been in place since 1999, though all contributions to it have been volunteered by individuals, institutes, universities, etc.
Recently, the issue of construction safety is growing. In the construction industry, accidents have continued to increase since 2000. In particular, the number of accident deaths at small and medium-sized construction sites accounts for 72.11% of the total number of accident deaths in the construction industry. For construction safety, prior safety evaluation systems such as Design for safety and safety management plan preparation are in place. However, at construction sites, these systems are recognized as formal legal documents, and their effectiveness is greatly reduced. Therefore, in this study, a linkage model that links design safety review information and safety management plan information was presented so that the safety management plan can be efficiently established. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed process was verified as an example of actual work. The linkage model will contribute to improving the safety management environment at the site by increasing the productivity of safety management work by enabling easy sharing of risk factor information in the construction stage safety management work. The results of this study will be used as basic information for the development of the integrated safety management system.
'Instagrammable' is a new term which means a photo or a series of pictures are worth posting on Instagram. Since Instagram is an image-oriented social media platform, it is important to give users proper awareness through images in order to be an instagrammable post. In this study, we explored the proper delivery method of messages within instagrammable posts through the use of hashtags(#). Specifically, we paid attention to the use of 'Card News', which involves a series of images that form a short narrative. Hashtags play an important role that they often describe sharing intention of the post, and we found analyzing the use of hashtags in Card News posts is a good indicator of users' Instagram activities. Currently, there are more than 580k posts are found with the search keyword Card News, and the number is increasing. In this study, we collected and analyzed more than 50k hashtags on Instagram to explore how news stories are posted from both the general users and news media accounts. Furthermore, we conducted interviews with journalists to analyze how news media are making use of Instagram as a legitimate place to share news stories with impact.
The purpose of this study is to know how to make common space, find a type of it, and build a village landscape with it in countryside. There are five types of village including suburban according to typological locality in rural area. Each of them have remarkable common spaces that are combined with community identity and usage. They usually are located along with the street and lane of the village. Most of the villages I surveyed have common places for residents to rest, share, and meet together. Representatively, pavilion with symbolic tree we call Jeonja is very popular place to them, and village people also require public parking or pocket park in their modern life. I researched common places in ten communities in rural area so that I can suggest a way of community design through them. According to this research, there are three results. First, the common space of the village is placed to motivate emotional and attractive community design in the village. Second, the common space has an identity and landscape architectural relationship to build sustainable community. Third, countries' streets that I surveyed have four types, which are liner, tree, loop, and radiate patterns of lane. In line with those types, each one makes different and historical community landscape.
