This research examines the legal liability of place-shifting of TV contents by the use of the Slingbox. The place-shifting of TV contents is fair use because it is a non-commercial private use based on the relevant case law regarding time-shifting and device-shifting such as Sony, RIAA and Napster. But the sharing of place-shifting function is likely to be liable for copyright infringement. And place-shifting may not be fair use based on the cases which denied fair use of time-shifting and space-shifting because the consumers' convenience for the use of the copyrighted work is against the purpose of legislation of copyright law. Place-shifting is unlikely to have a significant effect on the potential market for TV contents because it presents lucrative new platforms to disseminate TV contents to computers and mobile devices. However it is likely to have negative effect because various devices can be the follow-up marketplaces of the copyright holders of TV contents. This study proposes the "innovative medium defense," a new doctrine to analyze liability of innovative media.

PURPOSE: To examine the cumulative (7 days) effect of breaking up prolonged sitting on systemic endothelial function in sedentary men. METHODS: Thirty sedentary men ($33.93{\pm}5.72years$) participated in two randomized 7 days sitting trial (Sit group (control) vs. Breaks group). The protocol of Breaks group is as follows: 4-minute of moderate-intensity marching in place (walking) every 1 hour during business hour (total: 8 breaks/day). Assessment of brachial artery endothelial function using flow-mediated dilation (FMD) and arterial stiffness indices (augmentation index, arterial pressure and pulse wave velocity) were measured before and after 7 days treatment. RESULTS: Brachial artery FMD significantly increased after 7 days breaking up prolonged sitting treatment (Breaks groups, $9.65{\pm}2.61$ to $9.62{\pm}2.6%$) compared with 7 days prolonged sitting (Sit group, $8.37{\pm}3.41$ to $10.11{\pm}3.75%$) (interaction effect, p=.004). Arterial pressure (AP) significantly increased after treatment (Breaks group, $2.75{\pm}2.19$ to $2.38{\pm}1.63mmHg$, p=.002) in Sit group but there was no change (Sit group, $1.00{\pm}3.18$ to $2.50{\pm}9.23mmHg$) in Breaks groups (interaction effect, p=.008). CONCLUSIONS: These finding show that 7 days regular breaking up prolonged sitting improve in FMD, compared with prolonged sitting. Therefore, regular breaking up prolonged sitting may improve systemic endothelial function in sedentary men.

This paper presents a landscape design for the meeting plaza around the "Myeonmok" subway station. The site is located at 120-1 Myeonmok 1-dong, Jnngrang-gu, Seoul, and its area is approximately $2,664.7m^2$. The goal of the design was to make an environmentally friendly meeting and rest place which was related to the subway station. To achieve this goal, concepts of history, tradition, sense of place, community, environmental friendliness, and function were developed. For history, stone sculpture and art tiles symbolizing the paleolithic area were introduced because the site is located near an archaeological site of paleolithic min. For tradition, considering that the site is a 'sailing ship' form in terms of Pungsu theory, a sculpture symbolizing a sailing ship and paving patterns symbolizing waves were introduced. For asense of place, a grass hill, a waterfall and a pond symbolizing an old meadow for horse pasture was introduced. In addition, a multi-purpose round plaza as a meeting place for local community and subway users was proposed. A zelkova grove symbolizing a village forest was proposed for a restand relaxation area. All areas were designed to be environmentally friendly and barrier-free. Concepts for a defensible space wereadapted for safety because the site was a crime-prone area.

The landscape design was presented to a design for the theme park in Honseong. The site is located in Janchuk-li Unha-meon Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do and an area of about $1,594,001m^2$. This landscape design set the several main criteria as follows: an identity of GayanCheon's Picked Shrimps theme park, a cultural and tourist place for people, efficiency of landuse, and an environment friendly design. This GyanCheon's Picked Shrimps theme park is a multiple place for enjoying, resting, learning, and playing. An identity of this park was expressed by introducing the ocean scenery into park area which was devided 5 sub-spaces: a Place of the ocean King, an Entrance space for a Theme park, a Clock tower plaza, a Shrimp village, and a Distribution complex. Each space has the Theme about "shrimp" and is carefully connected with each other in terms of spatial sequence. By introducing diverse gathering and symbolical spaces for many kinds of events, the site could function as a cultural and tourist place of the Hongsung-gun.

The paper presents the analysis and results of traffic measurements in the 155 Mbit/s real working ATM backbone network. The traffic is described as an ordered sequence of real-time cells. In this paper we analyze two timescales in which some form of a stochastic process is taking place: cell scale and burst scale. We present another way to describe the cell flow in ATM networks by definition the function, designed to be the probability of the burst of length ∫in n sequential slots.

We studied the trend change of failure rate function and uncertainty of residual life function in terms of location of their trend change points. It is shown that the trend change of uncertainty of residual life takes place before the failure rate changes its trend. Like DIFR(IDFR) does not necessary implies IDMRL(DIMRL), we find the fact that DIFR(IDFR) does not always imply IDURL(DIURL) under certain conditions, through the exponentiated-weibull distribution.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the ways to improve the security of temporary shelters in case of nuclear power plant accidents. Method: In this study, we mainly rely on the case studies on previous nuclear power plant accidents-Chernobyl, Fukushima, and Three Mile Island (TMI) cases. Result: The current radiation emergency response plans for nuclear power plant accidents center around the evacuation procedure. As a result, the concept of "shelter in place" has been understood as a means of assisting resident evacuation. However, based on the case studies, we find that encouraging shelter in place, rather than simply emphasizing evacuation, would help minimize unnecessary casualties, especially in case of the accidents rated greater than or equal to INES 5. To facilitate better shelter in place, we recommend utilize apartments as temporary shelters and suggest some possible improvements to ensure those apartments could be equipped with technologies for high radiation protection. Conclusion: To ensure better shelter in place, we recommend using apartments as temporary shelters, and we seek to supplement the function of apartments by using shielding, positive pressure, and sealing technologies.

Today, digital technology is extending its influence to fashion design, which is closely related to people's lifestyle. In order for people to access information all the time, every place, people have to wear these devices all the time, every place. Intelligent wear allows people to communicate with their own body, other persons or surrounding real-time. The purposes of this study are to define 'Intelligent wear' by looking through the similar terms of intelligent wear on related fields, to analyze characteristics of intelligent wear and to provide not only theoretical data but also, practical data far product development on both functional and aesthetic sides. In this study, usefulness provided by intelligent wear were identified in the concept of instrumental & expressive function. For the aim of the study, literature and case study were considered at the same time. The conclusions are as the following. The characteristics of intelligent materials were found to be information, intelligence and protection, the characteristics of intelligent manufacture were combination and virtual reality. And The characteristics of intelligent products were multi-function, transformation, camouflage. Integration of operability function extends human ability and the area of human activity, entertainment, and communication, and provides convenience. Consequently, development of intelligent wear should promote through not only computer engineering but also, connection to other fields. Most of all, there is a need for active research in clothing design and the fashion design since intelligent wear is after all, clothing.

This paper presents empirical findings about the market inefficiency field in the korean horse track. We first use the place betting data instead of the win betting data inevitably depended on by past studies, and discuss the degree of the long shot anomaly and the bettor's risk attitude sequentially in the place betting market. The empirical result of betting simulations using the place winning function in this study reveals persistently higher returns than the expected payoff in korean racetrack betting market. The clear departures from perfect efficiency in horse-racing betting imply that much of the market information is insufficient and less accurate. This market asymmetry aggravates popular speculations exquisitely since people are attracted by the higher odds figures in the racetrack display although those are much uncertain in future. The findings suggest the more objective and credible information of winning possibilities such as the place winning function including the smart information of marginal odds needs to be available to the betting decision of the public, which contributes to reducing the speculative spirit in korean racetrack.

This paper proposes a 3-screen multi-function console development method using ergonomic design approach. Ergonomically designed console has the advantage of decreasing operator fatigue and increasing concentration by providing better readability, operability and convenience. For this, thirty subjects participated in the experiment for 3-screen multi-function console design. Ergonomic standards of console design were used to establish experiment design and to eliminate incompatible results with ergonomic standards. Subjects evaluated the nine predefined placements of displays and asked to place the display and controllers in order to use comfortably. As a results, total 18 design criteria including displays and controllers placement were determined.
