An Algorithm for Robust Noninteracting Control of Ship Propulsion System

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for noninteracting control system design is proposed and applied to ship propulsion system control. For example, if a ship diesel engine is operated by consolidated control with controllable pitch propeller (CPP), the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded ship speed. For this, it is necessary that the ship is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies the minimum fuel consumption, and the both pitch angle of CPP and throttle valve angle are controlled simultaneously. In this context of view, this paper gives a controller design method for a ship propulsion system with CPP based on noninteracting control theory. Where, linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is introduced for the control system design to satisfy the given $H_{\infty}$, constraint in the presence of physical parameter perturbation and disturbance input. To the end, the validity and applicability of this approach are illustrated by the simulation in the all operating ranges.

  • In the power plant facility which use soft coal as a power source the fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator is used to control the inlet and outlet gas to regulate the internal pressure of the furnace and control the frequence. Sometimes malfunctions of this equipment lead to the decline of boiler thermal efficiency and unexpected power plant trip. In order to localize the fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator specially for the 500MW large scale boiler, Analysis and modelling of the system is carried out mathematically. The responses of the system are examined by using matlab simulation fur the variation of the major parameters in view of reverse engineering. Consequently the validity of the established parameters are examined.

  • In this paper an application of centralized pitch angle controller for fixed speed wind turbines based wind farm to mitigate load frequency fluctuation is presented. Reference signal for the pitch angle of each wind turbine is calculated by using proposed centralized control system based on wind speed information. The wind farm in the model system is connected to a multi machine power system which is composed of 4 synchronous generators and a load. Simulation analyses have been carried out to investigate the performance of the controller using real wind speed data. It is concluded that the load frequency of the system can be controlled smoothly.

  • 자기부상 수동형 이송 시스템이란 이송자에 부상, 안내, 추진과 관련된 전원장치가 없어 고청정, 무분진이 요구되는 환경에서 사용 가능한 시스템으로써 대면적 디스플레이 공정산업, 반도체 이송장비 등에 활용가능하다. 이 시스템은 이송 대상물의 안정적 운반을 위하여 이송자의 정밀한 자세 제어가 필요하다. 하지만 이송자의 구조적 특징 및 공극 센서 설치 오차에 의해 이송자의 피치운동이 발생하며 이를 해결하기 위한 제어기 설계가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 자기부상 수동형 이송 시스템의 이송자 피치 운동을 감소시키는 제어에 목적이 있다. 이를 수행하기 위하여 해석적으로는 PDA 제어 모델과 피치제어를 추가한 제어 모델의 피치 각도를 비교한다. 실험적으로는 제어기 변경이 이송자의 피치 각도 및 부상 정밀도에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 이러한 제어기 설계 변경이 피치 운동에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 부상 정밀도 향상을 위한 방법을 제시한다.

  • In the early development of wind energy, the majority of wind turbines were operated at constant speed. Recently, the number of variable-speed wind turbines adopted pitch control apparatus has increased. This paper deal with a simulation of pitch control of variable-speed wind turbine and the response of pitch angle is traced in a given random wind speed.

  • Blade pitch control system monitors and adjusts angle of the blades and controls rotation speed of blades. This paper shows 2MW pitch system hardware and electric part. Blade pitch system consists of pitch drive, gear box, motor and energy storage. Fieldbus is base on CANopen protocol. Fail-Safe system moves the blades to a safety position in case of any fault condition. The super capacitor energy storage provides emergency back up to the Pitch servo driver during feathering the blades. This paper studied Blade pitch servo driver and a bi-directional DC-DC converter for fail-safe system.

  • 우주시스템 연구실에서 개발 중인 HAUSAT-2의 피치모멘텀 바이어스 시스템을 설계하고 성능을 검증하였다. HAUSAT-2의 자세제어시스템은 초기자세획득모드와 정상모드로 분리되어 궤도에서 운용된다. 본 논문은 피치모멘텀 바이어스 시스템을 사용하여 위성이 운용될 경우 각 모드에 따라 자세제어가 가능한 범위를 해석하였고 ,모멘팀 휠 구동에 의하여 발생되는 모멘팀 덤핑 현상에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • This paper describes a research for the performance improvement of the straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbine. To improve the performance of VAWT, the individual blade pitch control method is adopted. For the wind turbine, CFD analysis is carried out by changing blade pitch angle according to the change of wind speed and wind direction. By this method, capacity and power efficiency of VAWT are obtained according to the wind speed and rotating of rotor, and could predict the overall performance of VAWT. It was manufactured to verify performance of the experimental system that consists of rotor including four blades and base. Furthermore, torque sensor and power generator were installed. Also, active controller which can change the pitch angle of the individual blade according to the wind speed and direction was used.

항공기 피치 조종력 비행시험 (Flight Test of Pitch Control Force for an Airplane)

  • This paper presents the procedures and the results of the pitch control force via flight test for a light airplane in order to make out the stability of the aircraft and the compliance with concerned regulation. The flight test procedures were determined in order to obtain the aircraft type certification. The instrumentation equipments including airspeed indicator, accelerometer, and pitch control force measurement tools are used to perform the flight test. For the flight test, the airspeed and the pitch control force with related normal acceleration are measured sustaining turn flight with bank angle derived from trim speed. The flight test results showed that the handling qualities of the airplane are complied with the KAS-23, the regulation of the Korean government for the light airplane type certification.

  • In this paper, we consider variable speed wind turbine systems containing uncertain elements. Though PI controller is generally used for pitch control, it cannot guarantee a stability and performance of the complicated wind turbine systems. A robust pitch control scheme is proposed to regulate the electric power output above the rated wind speed. The pitch controller is designed in order to guarantee uniform boundedness and uniform ultimate boundedness based on the bound values of the set where the uncertainties are laid or moves. In order to verify the proposed control scheme, we present stability analysis and simulation results using Matlab/Simulink.
