This paper presents a new high-speed SHA-1 pipeline architecture having a computation delay close to the maximum critical path delay of the original SHA-1. The typical SHA-1 pipelines are based on either a hash operation or unfolded hash operations. Their throughputs are greatly enhanced by the parallel processing in the pipeline, but the maximum critical path delay will be increased in comparison with the unfolding of all hash operations in each round. The pipeline stage logics in the proposed SHA-1 has the latency is similar with the result of dividing the maximum threshold delay of a round by the number of iterations. Experimental results show that the proposed SHA-1 pipeline structure is 0.99 and 1.62 at the operating speed ratio according to circuit size, which is superior to the conventional structure. The proposed pipeline architecture is expected to be applicable to various cryptographic and signal processing circuits with iterative operations.
This paper describes performance evaluation of design parameters, air velocity inside a pipeline and pressure along a pipeline, using experimental measurements in an automated vacuum waste collection system. Automatic robot having six cameras is introduced to analyze the internal pipeline conditions whether waste accumulates at the bottom of the pipeline or not. Throughout the experimental measurements of the pipeline having the various shapes, it is found that pressure and internal air velocity linearly increase along the pipeline from a waste inlet to a waste collection station while air density decreases due to the air compression effect with high pressure. Although air velocity inside the pipeline at a waste inlet keeps design velocity range between 20 m/s and 30 m/s, it is noted that air velocity near the waste collection station exceeds maximum design velocity of 30 m/s. Pressure increase per unit length is changed from 17.6 Pa/m to 18.9 Pa/m, which depends on the air velocity inside the pipeline. From the investigation inside the pipeline with CCTV loaded on an automated robot, waste accumulated at the bottom of the pipeline is mainly found at the downstream of a circular curved pipe, an inclined pipe and a bended pipe.

This paper shows an implementation of video codec (coder/decoder) on an embedded system. The video codec supports both H.261 and H.263 standards. For efficient real-time processing, the video codec is partitioned into a software module and a hardware module. Both modules are codesigned on an embedded system. The software module is processed on a real-time operating system and a RISC processor. It cooperates with the hardware module to compress and decompress images in real time. AMBA (Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) AHB (Advanced High-performance Bus) is used as the system bus. The hardware module works both as AHB masters and as AHB slaves. The encoder part of the hardware module operates in a pipelines mode to compress images in real time. The video codec compresses 15 CIF frames and simultaneously decompresses 15 CIF frames in a second according to H.261 or H.263 standard at 33 MHz frequency.

Since the interior shape of a pressure regulator is complex and the change of fluid resistance at each operation condition is rapid and big, the pressure regulator can become the major factor that causes big loss in pipelines. So the suitable pressure regulator modeling by each operation condition is important to obtain reliable results especially in small scale pipeline network analysis. And in order to prevent the condensation and freezing problems, it is needed to confirm both whether temperature recovery is achieved after passing by the pressure regulator's narrow neck and how much amount of low temperature area that can cause condensate accumulation is distributed by various PCV models at every inlet-outlet pressure ratio. In this research, the numerical model resembling P company pressure regulator that is used widely for high pressure range in commercial, is adopted as the base model of CFD analysis to investigate pressure regulator's flow characteristics at each pressure ratio. Additionally it is also introduced to examine pressure regulator's critical flow characteristics and possibility of condensation or freezing at each pressure ratio. Furthermore, the comparison between the results of CFD analysis and the results of analytic solution obtained by compressible fluid-dynamics theory is attempted to validate the results of CFD modeling in this study and to estimate the accuracy of theoretical approach at each pressure ratio too.

Identification of damage has become an evolving area of research over the last few decades with increasing the need of online health monitoring of the large structures. The visual damage detection can be impractical, expensive and ineffective in case of large structures, e.g., offshore platforms, offshore pipelines, multi-storied buildings and bridges. Damage in a system causes a change in the dynamic properties of the system. The structural damage is typically a local phenomenon, which tends to be captured by higher frequency signals. Most of vibration-based damage detection methods require modal properties that are obtained from measured signals through the system identification techniques. However, the modal properties such as natural frequencies and mode shapes are not such good sensitive indication of structural damage. Identification of damaged jacket type offshore platform members, based on wavelet packet transform is presented in this paper. The jacket platform is excited by simple wave load. Response of actual jacket needs to be measured. Dynamic signals are measured by finite element analysis result. It is assumed that this is actual response of the platform measured in the field. The dynamic signals first decomposed into wavelet packet components. Then eliminating some of the component signals (eliminate approximation component of wavelet packet decomposition), component energies of remained signal (detail components) are calculated and used for damage assessment. This method is called Detail Signal Energy Rate Index (DSERI). The results show that reduced wavelet packet component energies are good candidate indices which are sensitive to structural damage. These component energies can be used for damage assessment including identifying damage occurrence and are applicable for finding damages' location.
This paper presents real time implementation of 4kbps EHSX (Enhanced Harmonic Stochastic Excitation) speech coder that combines the harmonic vector excitation coding with time-separated transition coding. The harmonic vector excitation coding uses the harmonic excitation coding for voiced frames and used the vector excitation coding with the structure of analysis-by-synthesis for unvoiced frames, respectively. For transition frames mixed with voiced and unvoiced signal, we use the time-separated transition coding. In this paper. we present the optimization methods of implementation speech coder on the EMS320C6701/sup (R)/ DSP. To reduce the complex for real-time implementation. we perform the optimization method in algorithm by replacing the complex sinusoidal synthesis method with IFFT. and we apply fully pipelines hand assembly coding after converting it from floating source to fixed source. To generate a more efficient code. we also make use or the available EMS320C6701/sup (R)/ resources such as Fastest67x library and memory organization.

City gas pipelines are buried underground. Because of this, pipeline is hard to manage, and can be easily damaged. This research proposes a real time prediction system that helps experts can make decision about pressure anomalies. The gas pipline pressure data of Jungbu City Gas Company, which is one of the domestic city gas suppliers, time variables and environment variables are analysed. In this research, regression models that predicts pipeline pressure in minutes are proposed. Random forest, support vector regression (SVR), long-short term memory (LSTM) algorithms are used to build pressure prediction models. A comparison of pressure prediction models' preformances shows that the LSTM model was the best. LSTM model for Asan-si have root mean square error (RMSE) 0.011, mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) 0.494. LSTM model for Cheonan-si have RMSE 0.015, MAPE 0.668.

A ground penetrating image radar (GPR) using an ultra wideband (UWB)impulse waveform is developed for non destructive detection of metallic pipelines buried under the ground. Dielectric constant of test field is measured and then a GPR system is designed for better detection up to 1 meter deep. By considering total path loss, volume of complete system, and resolution, upper and lower frequencies are chosen. First, a UWB impulse for the frequency bandwidth of the impulse is chosen with rising time less than 1 ns, and then compact planar UWB dipole antenna suitable for frequency bandwidth of a UWB impulse is designed. Also, to receive reflected signals, a digital storage oscilloscope is used. For measurement, a monostatic technique and a migration technique are used. For visualizing underground targets, simple image processing techniques of A-scan removal and B-scan average removal are applied. The prototype of the system is tested on a test field in wet clay soil and it is shown that the developed system has a good ability in detecting underground metal objects, even small targets of several centimeters.

In this study, we developed a heat supply control algorithm that minimizes the heat loss in the heat distribution pipelines used for supplying heat energy to shared group housing. Controlling the temperature and flow rate of the hot water supplied to the heat exchanger for shared group housing enables us to develop a heat supply control technique that meets the heating load required by each household in a shared apartment building in accordance with changes in the outdoor air temperature, and that minimizes the heat loss occurring in the heat distribution pipeline. A one-year study in 2008 on a 1,473-household D-apartment building in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, compared the heat capacity used by each household, as well as the heat capacity supplied to the heat exchanger room of the apartment housing building, to calculate the amount of heat loss in the heat distribution pipeline. The results confirmed that 24.1% of the heat supplied was lost in the piping.
A combustible producer gas composed of H2, CO and CH4 could be obtained by the thermal-chemical conversion of biomass. However, a large amount of particulate matters including tar generated causes the mal-function of turbines and engines or the fouling of pipelines. In this study, a wet scrubber using the soybean oil and bag filter were installed, and the removal efficiency was investigated. Hydrate limestone and wood char base activated carbon were pre-coated on the filter medium to prevent clogging of open pores. The removal efficiencies by the bag filter were 86 and 80% for the hydrated limestone and activated carbon coating, respectively. Overall, the collection when using a series of oil scrubbers and bag filters were 88%, while 83% for the filter coating material.
