This study investigates a dynamic flexible flow shop scheduling problem under uncertain rework operations for an automobile pipe production line. We propose a weighted dispatching rule (WDR) based on the multiple dispatching rules to minimize the weighted sum of average flowtime and tardiness. The set of weights in WDR should be carefully determined because it significantly affects the performance measures. We build a discrete-event simulation model and propose a genetic algorithm to optimize the set of weights considering complex and variant operations. The simulation experiments demonstrate that WDR outperforms the baseline dispatching rules in average flowtime and tardiness.
Korea government is trying to supply liquid hydrogen from another country to domestic The research for liquid hydrogen transportation and liquefaction plant of hydrogen underway for several years, and empirical research is also planned in the future. Along with the development of liquid hydrogen transport ship/liquefaction plant technology, the development of liquid hydrogen reception base technology must be carried out. In this study, a concept level liquid hydrogen receiving terminal is constructed based on the process of the LNG receiving terminal. Based on this, a study is conducted on the development of analysis technology for the amount of BOG (pipe, tank) generated during cooldown and unloading in the liquid hydrogen unloading line (loading arm to storage tank). The research results are intended to be used as basic data for the design and liquid hydrogen receiving terminal in the future.
In order to elucidate the source of bacterial contamination during processing U. H. T. milk and to ensure its hygienic control, bacterial numbers were determined each step of the processes on the milks, water, tanks and pipe lines, and environments. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The viable numbers of mesophilic bacteria were $1.2{\sim}1.9{\times}10^7/ml$ of milk in the storage tank and in pipe line connected to the preheater. These were decreased to $7.0{\times}10cells{\sim}3.4{\times}10^2cells/ml$ after preheating and homogenization, and to $1.0{\times}10cells/ml$ after sterilization, then increased up to $1.2{\times}10^2cells/ml$ after packing. 2. The numbers of thermophilic bacteria were $5.0{\times}10cells{\sim}1.0{\times}10^2cells/ml$ of milk before preheating ; $3.0{\sim}5.0{\times}10cells/ml$ after homogenization ; none in the sterilizer and surge tank ; and $1.0{\sim}8.0{\times}10cells/ml$ after packing. 3. The levels of psychrophilic bacteria were $1.0{\sim}3.7{\times}10^6cells/ml$ of milk before preheating ; $1.0{\sim}4.0{\times}10cells/ml$ after homogenization ; $1.0{\times}10cells/ml$ after sterilization ; and $2.0{\times}10cells{\sim}2.5{\times}10^2cells/ml$ after packing. 4. No coliform bacteria were detected after sterilization, while the level before preheating was $2.1{\times}10^4cells{\sim}6.5{\times}10^5cells/ml$ of milk. 5. The level of mesophiles was $3.0{\times}10cells{\sim}7.4{\times}10^2cells$ in the environmental air, water supply, and unfilled packs and bottles ; that of thermophiles $1.0{\sim}3.0{\times}10cells$ in the air and water ; that of psychrophiles $1.0{\times}10cells{\sim}1.0{\times}10^2cells$ in the air, water, packs and bottles ; however no coliform was detected.

The low carrying capacity caused by the deposition in a sewer line is one of the main reason of the urban flood. Therefore, an efficient maintenance and management of the storm water drainage system is very important to prevent urban flood. In this research, the sediment transport characteristics through a pressure pipeline were examined with laboratory experiments. Bed-forms in a pipeline, sediment rates, roughness due to sediments were examined. Experimental system consists of flow circulation system with a pump and a sediment feeder at the upstream of the pipeline. Sediments were supplied into a 60 mm-diameter and 8 m-long pipe. Maximum flow rate is $30m^3/hr$, and the sediment feeding rate range is 5 g/s~19 g/s. Governing parameters and estimation equation for sediment transport rate were developed. The mean velocity (U), coefficient of viscosity (${\mu}$), unit width bed load ($q_b$), mean diameter of particle ($d_{50}$), unit weight of sediment in water (${\gamma}^{\prime}_s$) were adopted as the most influencing factors of sediment transport patterns. The prediction equation for sediment transport rate were developed with two dimensionless terms. These two dimensionless terms showed a linear relationship with high correlation coefficient.

This paper dealt with a retrofit high power LED searchlight to replace conventional 1kW halogen searchlights. The design specification meets KDS 6230-1046-1 and KS V 8469. An optical lens with the beam angle of $6^{\circ}$ was used to meet the luminous intensity of 800,000cd at $0^{\circ}$ in horizontal line. Heat dissipation of the LED searchlight adopted a free air cooling type which does not use a fan or a heat-pipe. From the test results, power consumption of the prototype LED searchlight was 148W which was saved by 85% comparing a halogen searchlight of 1kW. Luminous intensity was 945,000cd at $0^{\circ}$ in horizontal line, satisfying KS V 8469. Luminous efficacy was improved by 4.7 times higher than that of the halogen searchlights. Beam angle, color temperature, and color rendering index(CRI) was $5.4^{\circ}$, 5,500K, and 70, respectively. Surface temperature of the LED searchlight was below $60^{\circ}C$ and surrounding temperature of the SMPS installed inside was below $50^{\circ}C$ which were satisfied with the IEC 60092-306.

Since the hydraulic fracturing field testing method was introduced first to Korean geotechnical engineers in 1994, there have been lots of progresses in a hardware system as well as an interpretation tool. The hydrofracturing system of first generation was the pipe-line type, so it was not easy to handle. It had been modified to a wire-line system at their second generation. It was more compact one but it also needed an additional air-compressor. Our current system is much more compact and operated by all-in-one system, so it doesn't need an additional air-compressor. With a progress in a hardware system, the software for analyzing the in-situ stress regime has also been progressed. For example, the shut-in pressure, which is the most ambiguous parameter to be obtained from hydrofracturing pressure curves, can now be acquired automatically from the various methods. While the hardware and software for hydrofracturing tests are being developed during the last decade, the author could accumulate the field test results which can cover the almost whole area of South Korea. Currently these field data are used widely in a feasibility study or a preliminary design step for tunnel construction in Korea. Regarding the difficulties in a site selection and a test performance for the in-situ stress measurement at an off-shore area, the in-situ stress regime obtained from the field experiences in the land area can be used indirectly for the design of a sub-sea tunnel. From the hydrofracturing stress measurements, the trend of magnitude and direction of in-situ stress field was shown identically with the geological information in Korea.
There are a lot of curved subway stations in Seoul metropolitan area. These must be straightly constructed as many as possible. But some of stations are roundly designed and built in order to avoid pre-existed underground obstacle such as basement of high rise building, underground gas or water pipe line and subway stations from another line. As shown fig 1, one of the biggest problem occurring curved subway station is considered large gap between platform and vehicle when vehicle completely stop at the station. The gap potentially is in existence to subway passenger as very dangerous factors in rush hours. If passenger accidentally drop their food or leg between this gap when they get on the train and train leaves station, the passenger will be seriously injured by vehicle. In this paper, various design and instruments are introduced and best solution for this matter will be presented. In order to eliminate any possibility of accident happened gap between platform and vehicle, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) have been developed new safety instrument. These technologies were applied for patent by KRRI. These mechanisms will provide confidence as well as safety to Korean subway passenger
Two kinds of temperature monitoring technology have been introduced in this study, which can measure coincidently temperatures at many points along a single length of cable. One is to use a thermal sensor cable comprizing of addressable thermal sensors. The other is to use an optic fiber sensor with Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system. The differences between two technologies can be summarized as follows: A thermal sensor cable has a concept of "point sensing" that can measure temperature only at a predefined position. The accuracy and resolution of temperature measurement are up to the capability of the individual thermal sensor. On the other hand, an optic fiber sensor has a concept of "distributed sensing" because temperature is measured practically at all points along the fiber optic cable by analysing the intensity of Raman back-scattering when a laser pulse travels along the fiber. Thus, the temperature resolution depends on the measuring distance, measuring time and spatial resolution. The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of two different temperature monitoring techniques in technical and economical sense. To this end, diverse experiments with two techniques were performed and two techniques are applied under the same condition. Considering the results, the thermal sensor cable will be well applicable to the assessment of groundwater flow, geothermal distribution and grouting efficiency within about loom distance, and the optic fiber sensor will be suitable for long distance such as pipe line inspection, tunnel fire detection and power line monitoring etc.
The important results which have been obtained in the investigation can be recapitulated as follows. 1. As demonstrated by the experimental results and analyses concerning their effects in the on-ground type mushroom house, the constructions in relation to the side wall and ceiling of the experimental house showed a sufficient heat insulation on effect to protect insides of the house from outside climatic conditions. 2. As the effect on the solar type experimental mushroom house which was constructed in a half basement has been shown by the experimental results and analyses, it has been proved to be effective for making use of solar heat. However there were found two problems to be improved for putting solar house to practical use in the farm mushroom growing: (1) the construction of the roof and ceiling should be the same as for the on ground type house, and (2) the solar heat generating system should be reconstructed properly. 3. Among several ventilation systems which have been studied in the experiments, the underground earthen pipe and ceiling ventilation, and vertical side wall and ceiling ventilation systems have been proved to be most effective for natural ventilation. 4. The experimental results have shown that ventilation systems such as the vertical side wall and underground ventilation systems are suitable to put to practical use as natural ventilation systems for farm mushroom house. These ventilation systems can remarkably improve the temperature of fresh air which is introduced into the house by heat transfers within the ventilation passages, so as to approach to the desired temperature of the house without any cooling or heating operation. For example, if it is assuming that X is the outside temperature and Y is the amount of temperature adjustment made by the influence of the ventilation system, the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the following regression lines. Underground iron pipe ventilation system. Y=0.9X-12.8 Underground earthen pipe ventilation system. Y=0.96X-15.11 Vertical side wall ventilation system. Y=0.94X-17.57 5. The experimental results have 8hown that the relationships existing between the admitted and expelled air and the $CO_2$ concentration can be described with experimental regression lines or an exponent equation as follows: 5.1 If it is assumed that X is an air speed cm/sec. and Y is an expelled air speed in cm/sec. in a natural ventilation system, since the Y is a function of the X, the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the regression lines shown below: 5.2 If it IS assumed that X is an admitted volume of air in $m^3$/hr. and Y is an expelled volume of air in $m^3$/hr. in a natural ventilation system, since the Y is a function of the X, the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the regression lines shown below. 5.3 If it is assumed that expelled air speed in emisec. and replacement air speed in cm/sec. at the bed surface in a natural ventilation system are shown as X and Y. respectively, since the Y is a function of the X. the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the following regression line: GE(100%)-CV (50%) ventilation system. Y=-0.54X+0.84 5.4 If it is assumed that the replacement air speed in cm/sec. at the bed surface is shown as X, and $CO_2$ concentration which is expressed by multiplying 1000 times the actual value of $CO_2$ % is shown as Y, in a natural ventilation system, since the Y is a function of the X, the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the following regression line: GE(100%)-CV(50%) ventilation system. Y=114.53-6.42X 5.5 If it is assumed that the expelled volume of air is shown as X and the $CO_2$ concencration which is expressed by multiplying 1000 times the actual of $CO_2$% is shown as Y in a natural ventilation system, since the Y is a function of the X, the relationships that exist between X and Y can be expressed by the following exponent equation: GE(100%)-CV(50%) ventilation system. Y=$127.18{\times}1.0093^{-x}$ 5.6 The experimental results have shown that the ratios of the cross sectional area of the GE and CV vent to the total cubic capacity of the house, required for providing an adequate amount of air in a natural ventilation system, can be estimated as follows: GE(admitting vent of the underground ventilation) 0.3-0.5% (controllable) CV(expelling vent of the ceiling ventilation) 0.8-1.0% (controllable) 6. Among several heating devices which were studied in the experiments, the hot-water boilor which wasmodified to be fitted both as hot-water boiler and as a pressureless steam-water was found most suitable for farm mushroom growing.
