Polypropylene Mat에 의(依)한 용수로(用水路)의 누수방지(漏水防止)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Leakage Protection with Polypropylene Mat in Irrigation Canal)

  • Dam에 저수(貯水)한 물이 흙수로(水路)에 의(依)해서 도수(導水)되는 과정(過程)에서 많은 손실(損失)을 보게 된다. 특(特)히 이들 용수로(用水路)가 사력층(砂礫層)과 같은 투수성지반(透水性地盤)을 통과(通過)할 때 용수로(用水路)의 누수방지(漏水防止)를 위(爲)해서 Lining을 실시(實施)하여 왔다. 이들 용수로(用水路)의 누수방지(漏水防止)를 위(爲)한 Lining 방법(方法)은 많은 연구(硏究)가 계속(繼續)되어 왔고 최근(最近)에는 plastic film 혹은 polyethylene film 등(等)으로 Lining 하는 방법(方法)이 고안(考案)되어 연구(硏究)하고 있다. 그러나 이들 재료(材料)는 강도(强度)가 약(弱)하여 파손(破損)될 위험성(危險性)이 있고 또 모래나 자갈 입자(粒子)와 접촉(接觸)하면 pin-hole이 생겨서 누수(漏水)하게 된다. 본(本)연구(硏究)에서는 이와 같은 흠점(欠點)을 보완(補完)하기 위(爲)하여 polypropylene mat에 vinyl을 coating해서 매설(埋設) Lining하는 방법(方法)을 시험(試驗)하였다. Polypropylene mat 매설(埋設) 혹은 노출(露出)에 따르는 내구성(耐久性)의 변화(變化), Asphalt 부착부(附着部)의 내구성(耐久性) 및 동해(凍害) 등(等)은 장기간(長期間)의 시험(試驗)이 필요(必要)하므로 아직도 미비(未備)된 점(點)이 있으나 본시험(本試驗)에서 얻은 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 수로(水路)의 저면(底面)과 양측사면(兩側斜面)의 연결부(連結部)는 곡선(曲線)으로 설치(設置)하는 것이 사면(斜面)의 안정도(安定度)가 크고 공사비(工事費)가 절약(節約)된다. 곡급부(曲級部)의 곡율변화(曲率變化)와 polypropylene mat의 감소량(減少量) 및 절토(切土)의 감소량(減少量)과의 관계(關係)를 사면(斜面)의 경사(傾斜)로 유도(誘導)해서 그림 7~그림 9에 표시(表示)하였다. 2. Polypropylene mat의 보호(保護)를 위(爲)해서 피복재료(被覆材料)를 덮어야 하고 이 두께는 수심(水深), 사면(斜面)의 안정(安定), 수로내((水路內) 침전물(沈澱物)의 제거작업(除去作業), 통행(通行), 비관개기(非灌漑期)의 back pressure 등(等)을 고려(考慮)해서 30cm 이상(以上)으로 함이 바람직하다. 3. 피복재료(被覆材料)는 사면침식(斜面侵蝕)을 방지(防止)하기 위(爲)해서 모래질(質)흙은 속에 넣고 표면(表面)은 조립질(粗粒質)의 자갈을 덮는 것이 수로사면(水路斜面)의 안정(安定)을 위(爲)해서도 좋을 것이다. 4. 용수로(用水路)의 사면안정검토(斜面安定檢討)는 수로저면(水路底面)의 수동부(受動部)를 고려(考慮)함이 타당(妥當)하고 사면안정(斜面安定), 허용유속(許容流速) 및 소유력(掃流力)을 고려(考慮)해서 1 : 2정도(程度)의 경사(傾斜)로 설치(設置)함이 바람직하다. 5. Earth Lining의 공사비(工事費)와 비재(比載)할 때 Vinyl로 coating 한 polypropylene mat의 Linging은 흙의 운반거리(運搬距離) 500m 일 때는 28%, 700m 일 때는 37%의 공사비(工事費)를 절약(節約)할 수 있다. 6. Vinyl로 coating 한 'polypropylene mat로 Lining 하면 거의 완벽(完壁)할 정도(程度)로 누수(漏水)를 방지(防止)할 수 있으나 Asphalt로 접합(接合)시켰을 때 polypropylene mat의 강도(强度)에 변화(變化)가 오는 것이 예상(豫想)되므로 경과시간(經過時間)에 따르는 강도변화(强度變化)는 계속(繼續)해서 연구(硏究)해야 할 것으로 생각된다.

눈물길 조영검사 시 양측 안 와 사위 상 획득의 유용성에 대한 연구 (Research on The Utility of Acquisition of Oblique Views of Bilateral Orbit During the Dacryoscintigraphy)

  • 눈물길 조영검사 시 눈물기관 해부학적 구조의 다양성, 눈물길기형, 검사 중 발생하는 유루증과 같은 경우 전면상 외에 코 안으로의 배출을 좀 더 자세히 표현해낼 수 있으며, 유루증과 코 눈물관으로의 배출을 구별할 수 있는 방법의 필요성을 생각해 보았다. 이에 전면상 지연 촬영 외에 양측 안 와 사위상을 획득하는 방법의 유용성에 대해 알아 보고자 하였다. 2013년 1월부터 2013년 8월까지 눈물길폐쇄로 인한 유루증을 주소로 하는 78명의 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 평균나이는 $56.96{\pm}13.36$세였다. $^{99m}TcO4^-$ 3.7 MBq (0.1 mCi)을 $10{\mu}L$ 씩 마이크로피펫을 이용하여 양 안 하결막낭에 1-2방울 점안 후 1분 씩 20frame, 20분 간 동적 검사를 시행 하였다. 동적 검사 직후 양 안에서 코 안으로 배출이 확인되는 경우는 즉시 사위상을 획득하였고 어느 한쪽의 안 와라도 배출이 보이지 않는 경우 40분 뒤 전면상으로 확인 후 안 와 사 위상을 획득하였다. 검사 시 사용한 장비로는 Pin-hole Collimator를 장착한 Gamma Camera (Siemens Orbiter, Hoffman Estates, IL, USA)장비를 사용하였다. 실험대상 78건의 영상 중 전면상에서 코 안으로의 배출이 확인되었던 환자는 35명이었다. 그 중 양 안 모두에서 코 안으로 배출을 보인 환자는 15명이었고 양 안 8명, 좌 안 2명, 우 안 1명에서 사위상을 통해 보다 나은 배출 양상 관찰이 가능하였다. 좌 안 및 우 안에서 배출이 있었던 환자는 20명이었고 10명이 전면상에 비해 명확한 배출을 보여 주었다. 그 외 배출 가능성이 있는 환자는 13명이었으며 코 눈물관으로의 추적자이동이 보이지 않은 환자는 30명이었다. 기술통계 결과 총 35명 중 21명(60%)이 사위상 추가 촬영으로 전면상보다 뚜렷한 배출 양상을 나타내었다. 배출 감별유용성에 관한 Likert 5점 척도 blind test를 통해 사위상 획득이 전면상에서 자세히 보이지 않는 부분을 나타내 줌으로써 배출 유무 확인이나 배출 지연, 코 눈물관 폐쇄를 진단하는 데 도움이 된다고 응답하였다. 또한 유루증 발생시 코 눈물관으로의 배출과 피부로의 흘림을 구별할 때 사위상이 전면상에 비해 구별능이 높다고 응답하였다(전면상:$4.14{\pm}0.3$, 사위상:$4.55{\pm}0.4$). 눈물길 조영검사 시 양측 안 와 사위상을 전면상 이외에 추가적으로 획득한다면 전면상에서 충분히 보여주지 못하는 영역의 검사가 가능하여 코 눈물관 이후로의 배출 유무를 확인하고 피부에서 유루증의 흐름을 코 눈물관과 구별하는 데 용이하기에 판독의 진단능을 높일 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

Comparative evaluation of photobiomodulation therapy at 660 and 810 nm wavelengths on the soft tissue local anesthesia reversal in pediatric dentistry: an in-vivo study

  • Background: Local anesthesia has been reliably used to control pain during dental procedures and is important in pediatric dentistry. However, children occasionally complain of prolonged numbness after dental treatment, leading to several problems. Studies conducted to reverse the effect of local anesthesia using phentolamine mesylate and photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) are encouraging but limited. PBM is a type of light therapy that utilizes visible and near-infrared non-ionizing electromagnetic spectral light sources. Hence, this study used this modality to compare the reversal of local anesthesia at two different wavelengths. This study compared the effect of PBM at 660 and 810 nm wavelengths on the reversal of soft tissue local anesthesia using a diode LASER in pediatric dentistry. Method: Informed consent and assent were obtained, and the participants were then divided randomly into three groups of 20 children each: control group-without LASER irradiation, LASER irradiation at 660 nm, and LASER irradiation at 810 nm. Sixty children aged 4-8 years with deciduous mandibular molars indicated for pulp therapy were administered an inferior alveolar nerve block. After 45 min of injection, a duration that was similar to the approximate duration of treatment, they were exposed to 660- and 810-nm LASER irradiation according to their groups until reversal of local anesthesia was achieved. The control group did not undergo LASER irradiation. The reversal of the soft tissue local anesthetic effect was evaluated using palpation and pin prick tests every 15 min, and the LASER irradiation cycle continued until reversal of the soft tissue local anesthesia was achieved. Results: A significant reduction of 55.5 min (27.6%) in the mean soft tissue local anesthesia reversal time was observed after the application of 810 nm wavelength PBM and 69 min (34.7%) after 660 nm wavelength LASER irradiation. Conclusion: PBM with a 660 nm wavelength was more effective in reducing the mean soft tissue local anesthesia reversal duration, and thus can be used as a reversal agent for soft tissue local anesthesia in pediatric dentistry.

  • In solar cell module manufacturing, single solar cells has to be joined electrically to strings. Copper stripes coated with tin-silver-copper alloy are joined on screen printed silver of solar cells which is called busbar. The bus bar collects the electrons generated in solar cell and it is connected to the next cell in the conventional module manufacturing by a metal stringer using conventional hot air or infrared lamp soldering systems. For thin solar cells, both soldering methods have disadvantages, which heats up the whole cell to high temperatures. Because of the different thermal expansion coefficient, mechanical stresses are induced in the solar cell. Recently, the trend of solar cell is toward thinner thickness below 180um and thus the risk of breakage of solar cells is increasing. This has led to the demand for new joining processes with high productivity and reduced error rates. In our project, we have developed a new method to solder solar cells with a laser heating source. The soldering process using diode laser with wavelength of 980nm was examined. The diode laser used has a maximum power of 60W and a scanner system is used to solder dimension of 6" solar cell and the beam travel speed is optimized. For clamping copper stripe to solar cell, zirconia(ZrO)coated iron pin-spring system is used to clamp both joining parts during a scanner system is traveled. The hot plate temperature that solar cell is positioned during lasersoldering process is optimized. Also, conventional solder joints after $180^{\circ}C$ peel tests are compared to the laser soldering methods. Microstructures in welded zone shows that the diffusion zone between solar cell and metal stripes is better formed than inIR soldering method. It is analyzed that the laser solder joints show no damages to the silicon wafer and no cracks beneath the contact. Peel strength between 4N and 5N are measured, with much shorter joining time than IR solder joints and it is shown that the use of laser soldering reduced the degree of bending of solar cell much less than IR soldering.

Atmospheric Turbulence Simulator for Adaptive Optics Evaluation on an Optical Test Bench

  • An adaptive optics system can be simulated or analyzed to predict its closed-loop performance. However, this type of prediction based on various assumptions can occasionally produce outcomes which are far from actual experience. Thus, every adaptive optics system is desired to be tested in a closed loop on an optical test bench before its application to a telescope. In the close-loop test bench, we need an atmospheric simulator that simulates atmospheric disturbances, mostly in phase, in terms of spatial and temporal behavior. We report the development of an atmospheric turbulence simulator consisting of two point sources, a commercially available deformable mirror with a $12{\times}12$ actuator array, and two random phase plates. The simulator generates an atmospherically distorted single or binary star with varying stellar magnitudes and angular separations. We conduct a simulation of a binary star by optically combining two point sources mounted on independent precision stages. The light intensity of each source (an LED with a pin hole) is adjustable to the corresponding stellar magnitude, while its angular separation is precisely adjusted by moving the corresponding stage. First, the atmospheric phase disturbance at a single instance, i.e., a phase screen, is generated via a computer simulation based on the thin-layer Kolmogorov atmospheric model and its temporal evolution is predicted based on the frozen flow hypothesis. The deformable mirror is then continuously best-fitted to the time-sequenced phase screens based on the least square method. Similarly, we also implement another simulation by rotating two random phase plates which were manufactured to have atmospheric-disturbance-like residual aberrations. This later method is limited in its ability to simulate atmospheric disturbances, but it is easy and inexpensive to implement. With these two methods, individually or in unison, we can simulate typical atmospheric disturbances observed at the Bohyun Observatory in South Korea, which corresponds to an area from 7 to 15 cm with regard to the Fried parameter at a telescope pupil plane of 500 nm.

피각부 자발성 뇌내출혈의 혈종흡입술을 위한 지표 (Guidelines for Free-Hand Aspiration(FHA) of Putaminal Hemorrhage)

  • Objectives : CT-guided stereotactic evacuation for spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage can minimize the brain damage and can be performed safely and simply under local anesthesia. But that procedure is time consuming and has a risk of rebleeding because of the stress during head pin fixation. So authors describe easy and precise guidelines for FHA of putaminal hemorrhage without stereotactic instrument. Methods and Materials : We analyzed the data of 298 patients who underwent CT-guided stereotactic aspiration of putaminal hematoma in our hospital between January 1990 and December 2000. We divided the patients into three groups according to the location of hematoma : anterior portion, middle portion and posterior portion of putamen. Total number of catheters inserted into the hematoma were 345 and there were with regard to the direction and depth of catheters. Results : Proposed guidelines of catheter insertion to putaminal hemorrhage in our institution. 1) hematoma at the anterior portion of putamen ; Direction of catheter was the midpupillary line of the eye and the point intersecting a line drawn from the burr hole to a point between external auditory meatus(EOM) and 1cm posterior to EOM. Depth of catheter was 6-6.5cm. 2) hematoma at the middle portion of putamen ; Direction of catheter was the midpupillary line of the the eye and the point intersecting a line drawn from the burr hole to a point between 1cm and 2cm posterior to EOM. Depth of catheter was 6.5-7cm. 3) hematoma at the posterior portion of putamen ; Direction of catheter was 15 degree laterally from the midpupillary line of the eye and the point intersecting a line drawn from the burr hole to a point between 2cm and 3cm posterior to EOM. Depth of catheter was 7-7.5cm. We have performed FHA of putaminal hemorrhage in 48 cases according to this guideline. All catheter were inserted exactly at the center of hematoma and average operation time was about 30 minutes. Conclusion : Our proposed guidelines for putaminal hemorrhage are considered to be safe and simple method with similar accuracy and rapid decompression compared with traditional stereotactic method. Main advantages of this technique were unnecessity of stereotactic frame application and less time requirement for hematoma removal.

금형 산업을 변혁하는 일본의 금형 기술 (Japanese mold technology revolutionizing the mold industry)

  • The mold industry in Japan, an advanced country in the mold industry, is also at a point of great change. The main causes are the Ukraine crisis and the collapse of the global supply chain (parts supply chain) caused by COVID-19. In addition, the prices of overseas products are rising sharply due to rapid exchange rate fluctuations (decrease in the value of the yen). Until now, Japan's monotsukuri industry has been actively pursuing overseas expansion, riding the trend of globalization. However, the trend began to rapidly reverse, and now the monotsukuri industry that had expanded overseas is showing a tendency to return to Japan. Another factor of change is the change in the automobile industry, which is the most demanded product in the mold industry. As the automobile industry evolves from gasoline cars to electric cars, the number of parts that make up a car will drastically decrease. This trend is expected to increase the demand for small-scale production of a variety of products in the mold industry, and furthermore, it is expected that short delivery times will be required in parts development. As in Korea, the production population working in the mold industry is rapidly decreasing in Japan as well. Even if you add up the total population working in manufacturing in Japan, it only accounts for about 15%. Even in Japan, it is judged that it will be difficult to sustain the monotsukuri industry with this small production population. Therefore, since improvement in production efficiency cannot be expected with the same manual dexterity as before, the mold industry is also demanding the development of mold technology at a different level than before to increase productivity. In this paper, I would like to introduce new Japanese mold technology collected through attending the Intermold exhibition. This is an example of applying a dedicated pin (Gastos) to a mold to prevent an increase in internal pressure during plastic injection molding, and a deep drawing press molding technology with an inherent hydraulic function.

종골 골절 일차 치료 후 발생한 합병증에 대한 분석 (Analysis of Complications after Treatment of Calcaneal Fracture)

  • Purpose: Problematic late sequelae are common following a calcaneal fracture regardless of the initial treatment. We retrospectively evaluated the painful conditions and reviewed the results of the operative treatment in patients with previously treated calcaneal fractures. Materials and Methods: Between October 1996 and September 2001, forty-three patients who underwent subsequent surgical treatment for late sequelae of calcaneal fracture were reviewed. The initial treatment consisted of only immobilization in a cast in 7 patients, closed reduction with pin fixation (Essex-Lopresti technique) in 22 and open reduction and internal fixation in 14. Painful conditions in the hind foot included subtalar arthritis in 31 patients, calcaneofibular impingement in 13, peroneal tendinitis in 6, displaced posterior bony fragment in 3, sural neuritis in 2, subtalar and midtarsal arthritis in 1 and displaced plantar bony fragment in 1. The surgical procedures for the late complications were performed at a mean of 19 months (range, 6 to 35 months) after the injury and consisted of lateral wall ostectomy and in situ subtalar fusion in 28 patients, only lateral wall ostectomy in 5 patients, lateral wall ostectomy and subtalar distraction arthrodesis in 3, removal of displaced posterior bony fragment in 3, sural nerve transposition in the peroneus brevis in 2, triple arthrodesis in 1 and removal of displaced plantar bony fragment in 1. Mean postoperative follow up period was 57 months (range, 33 to 82 months). The results of treatment were evaluated on the basis of pain, improvement in the ability to perform activities of daily living, to return to work or to a pre-injury level of activity. Results: Pain was partially relieved in 38 patients (88%), but not relieved in 5. Function improved in 34 patients (79%), and 32 (74%) returned to work or to a pre-injury level of activity. There was a trend that the longer the interval between the injury and the operation, the longer the subsequent interval until the patient returned to full activities or work. Conclusion: Meticulous physical examination and intensive prompt treatment for remaining pain after initial treatment of calcaneal fractures are recommended for patient's satisfaction and returning to work.

자동차 배기가스 유량 및 온도 변화에 따른 열전발전용 열교환기 발열량 특성에 관한 연구 (Thermal Caracteristics of the Automobile Exhaust gas based Heat exchanger with various Exhaust gas Temperature and Mass flow rate)

  • 본 논문은 자동차 열전발전용 열교환기에서 배기가스의 유량과 온도 변화에 따른 발열량 특성을 수치적으로 연구하였다. 자동차 열전발전용 열교환기는 내부에 핀을 설치하여 자동차 배기가스에서 나오는 열에너지를 열전소자로 최대 값을 전달할 수 있도록 하였으며, 상용 프로그램인 CAD를 이용하여 설계하였다. 그리고 배기가스의 유량과 온도 변화에 따른 열교환기 발열량 특성을 분석하기 위하여 상용 프로그램인 ANSYS CFX v17.0을 이용하여 배기가스 유량은 0.01, 0.02, 0.03 kg/s로 변화시키고, 배기가스 온도는 400, 450, 500, 550, $600^{\circ}C$로 변화시켜 수치해석 하였다. 결론적으로 열교환기의 입구 측과 출구 측 배기가스 압력 차는 배기가스의 유량에 따라 결정된다. 배기가스 유량이 증가하면 열교환기 입구 측과 출구 측 압력차는 증가하지만, 열교환기 입구 측과 출구 측 배기가스 압력차는 배기가스 온도에 따라 변하지 않는다. 따라서 열교환기 표면 온도를 최대 값으로 얻기 위해서는 배기가스 유량은 낮추고, 배기가스 온도는 높여야 한다는 결론을 도출하였다.

  • Through the previous studies(I,II), it was observed that human follicular fluid(HFF) was more effective than human fetal cord serum(HFCS) on promoting meiotic resumption of oocytes and improving embryonic development of mouse in vitro. On the basis of these results, we have gradually exchanged HFCS with HFF as protein supplement in human ART. This study was performed to investigate the efficiency of HFF on improving the pregnancy rate in ART. Oocytes were retrieved transvaginally from patients treated with pituitary suppression with GnRH-agonist and ovarian stimulation with human menopausal gonadotro-pin(HMG) and pure follicle stimulating hormone(FSH). Aspirated oocytes were rinsed and cultured in TCM-199 containing HFF, and the concentrations of HFF were adjusted to 10, 20, and 30% according to the use for insemination, embryo growth and embryo transfer, respectively. As possible as, we tried to do embryo transfer into fallopian tube to mimic the coincidence of the cell stage with the place of sojourn in vivo, so we performed various ART programs(IVF & ET; in vitro fertilization, ZIFT; zygote intra fallopian-tube transfer, ZIFT & ET) according to the tubal conditions of patients. On the while, intra cytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI) was used to assist IVF of the patients who had shown poor standard IVF results by immunological or severe male factor. Of the 255 cycles of ART programs using HFF as protein supplement, 118 cycles were turn out to be succeeded in pregnancy(46.2%, per cycle, p<0.05), while 21 pregnancies were achieved in the 69 cycles using HFCS(30.4%). The 255 cycles using HFF were subdivided into cycles with the type of ART programs, and each pregnancy rate of the ART programs were 44.7% (IVF & ET, 76/170 cycles), 53.4%(ZIFT, 31/58 cycles) and 40.7% (ZIFT & ET, 11/27 cycles), respectively. In the 61 ICSI cycles using HFF, 28 cycles succeed in pregnancy(45.9%), while 7 pregnancies were obtained in the 17 ICSI cycles using HFCS. Also the ongoing pregnancy rate in the group using HFF(78.8%, 93/118 cycles) was higher than that in the group using HFCS(61.9%). Therefore, we found that the use of HFF as protein supplement was more suitable and effective than the use of HFCS to improve the pregnancy rate in ART.
