압전 소자를 이용한 선형 모터 설계 및 제작 (Design of a Linear Motor using Piezoelectric actuator)

  • 압전 소자는 부피에 비해 발생 힘이 크고 빠른 응답 특성을 갖기 때문에, 최근 압전 소자를 이용한 모터의 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 발생 변위가 작아, 압전소자의 직접적인 변위 특성을 이용하는 것에 한계가 있다. 따라서 큰 변위를 확보하기 위해, 바이메탈을 사용하거나 한 개 이상의 압전 소자를 사용한 모터가 연구되었다. 본 연구를 통해 제안된 선형 모터는 구동부의 첫 번째 모드 형상을 이용하기 때문에 낮은 구동 주파수에서 작동이 가능하다. 또한 한 개의 압전 소자를 사용하여, 구동 주파수와 구동부의 공진 주파수 비에 따라 모터의 방향을 제어할 수 있도록 고안되었다.

PEDOT:PSS를 이용한 잉크젯 프린팅 방식 플라스틱 힘 센서 개발 (Fabrication of an Inkjet-printed Plastic Force Sensor Using PEDOT:PSS)

  • This paper presents an inkjet-printed plastic force sensor using PEDOT:PSS. Using a piezoelectric-type inkjet printer, the force sensor was manufactured by printing PEDOT:PSS ink onto a polyimide (PI) substrate film. Applying a vertical force of 0 to 100 N to the force sensor on the PI substrate with a thickness of 64 mm, the resistance of the force sensor increased in proportion to the input force by the length deformation of the PI substrates and the sensor pattern. As a result, the fabricated sensor has a characteristic of 0.001% /N with a linearity of 99.38%. In addition, as the thickness of the PI substrate film increased, the sensitivity of the sensor increased linearly. The fabricated force sensor is expected to be applied to industrial sites and healthcare fields.

고지향성 스피커를 위한 새로운 전력 증폭기 설계 (Design of High-efficiency Power Amplifier System for High-directional Speaker)

  • Parametric array transducers are used for highly directional speaker in an air environments. Piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducers for parametric array transducers need DC-biased voltage driving signals in order to get high-directional quality-sound features. The existing power amplifier such as class A amplifiers has low efficiency and require large volume heatsinks. To overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages of the conventional amplifier, this paper proposes a new power amplifier system. The proposed power amplifier system ensures high linearity of output characteristic by utilizing the push-pull class B type amplifier. Furthermore, the proposed power amplifier system gets high efficiency because it contains the DC-DC converter-type power supply which can perform energy recovery and envelope tracking function. Also the paper suggests the detailed circuit topology. Its characteristics are verified by the detailed experimental results.

본드그래프를 이용한 듀얼 스테이지 시스템의 모델링, 해석, 및 제어 (Bond Graph Modeling, Analysis and Control of Dual Stage System)

  • 본 연구에서는 보이스코일 모터와 압전 구동기를 동일 축으로 배치함으로써 초정밀 위치결정뿐만 아니라 동특성을 개선할 수 있도록 하는 듀얼 스테이지를 다룬다. 듀얼 스테이지는 모델링이 엉성할 경우 오히려 나쁜 동특성을 보이는 단점이 있다. 이 논문은 본드그래프를 이용하여 듀얼 스테이지를 모델링하고 동적 상태방정식을 본드그래프에서 유도하였다. 또한 동특성을 향상시키기 위한 보상기의 설계 예시를 보이고 있으며, 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents the fatigue characteristics of LIPCA (LIghtweight Piezo-Composite Actuator) device system. The LIPCA device system is composed of a piezoelectric ceramic layer and fiber reinforced lightweight composite layers. Typically a PZT ceramic layer is sandwiched by a top fiber layer with low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) and base layers with high CTE. The advantages of the LIPCA design are weight reduction by using the lightweight fiber reinforced plastic layers without compromising the generation of high force and large displacement and design flexibility by selecting the fiber direction and the size of prepreg layers. To predict the degradation of actuation performance of LIPCA due to fatigue, the cyclic electric loading tests using PZT specimens were performed and the strain for a given excitation voltage was measured during the test. The results from the PZT fatigue test were implemented into CLPT (Classical Laminated Plate Theory) model to predict the degradation of LIPCA's actuation displacement. The fatigue characteristic of PZT was measured using a test system composed of a supporting jig, a high voltage power supplier, data acquisition board, PC, and evaluated.

직교형 2차원 진동절삭기의 기구학적 해석 및 진동 특성 고찰 (Kinematical Analysis and Vibrational Characteristics of Orthogonal 2-dimensional Vibration Assisted Cutting Device)

  • In elliptical vibration cutting(EVC) where the cutting tool traces a micro-scale 2-dimensional elliptical trajectory, the kinematical and vibrational characteristics of the EVC device greatly affect cutting performance. In this study, kinematical and vibrational characteristics of an EVC device constructed with two orthogonally-arranged stacked piezoelectric actuators were investigated both analytically and experimentally. The step voltage was applied to the orthogonal EVC device and the associated displacements of the cutting tool were measured to assess kinematical characteristics of the orthogonal EVC device. To investigate the vibrational characteristic of the orthogonal EVC, sinusoidal voltage was applied to the EVC device and the resulting displacements were measured. It was found from experiments that coupling of displacements in the thrust and cutting directions and the tilt of the major axis of the elliptical trajectory exists. In addition, as the excitation frequency is in vicinity of resonant frequencies the distortion in the shape of the elliptical trajectory becomes greater and change in the rotation direction occurs. To correct the shape distortion of the elliptical trajectory, the shape correcting procedure developed for the parallel EVC device was applied for the orthogonal EVC device and it was shown that the shape correcting method successfully corrects distortion.

압축착화 디젤엔진의 모사 EGR 시스템에 의한 소음 특성 변화 분석 (Study on Noise Generation Characteristics of Simulated EGR System for Compression Ignition Diesel Engine)

  • Experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of EGR(exhaust gas recirculation) on engine noise using single cylinder combustion ignition engine. Under constant engine rotary speed of 1200 RPM, 8 mg fuel quantity was injected with 15, 18 and 21% of oxygen ratio and 1400 bar of injection pressure. Using the in-cylinder pressure data acquired by a piezoelectric transducer, the engine performance parameters were calculated. Radiated engine noise measured for 10 seconds was analyzed using spectral characteristics and sound quality metrics such as loudness, sharpness, roughness. From the obtained engine performance parameters and sound quality metrics, effect of oxygen ratio of the premixed air, start of injection timing on frequency characteristic and sound quality metrics were analyzed. Correlation analysis was conducted between MPRR(maximum pressure rise rate), RI(ringing intensity) and sound quality metrics. RI was identified as the most important factor having influence on the sound quality metrics.

  • Purpose of this research compares best transfer speed about applied frequency and voltage using characteristic of $L_1-B_4$ mode and $L_1-B_8$ mode linear ultrasonic motor that use piezoelectric effect. By method of study, analyzed best transfer speed measuring and comparison load status that use actuality telephone card in $L_1-B_4$ mode linear ultrasonic motor and no-load status of $L_1-B_8$ mode linear ultrasonic motor. Experiment result is applied frequency(58.4Hz) in $L_1-B_4$ mode linear ultrasonic motor (load state) and the best transfer speed by 19.8[cm/s] at applied voltage(56V) point. Also, $L_1-B_8$ mode linear ultrasonic motor (no-load state) is best transfer speed by applied frequency(27.9kHz) and 32.96[cm/s] at applied voltage (50V) point.

MLCC 에 의해 기판에서 발생하는 소음 분석 및 예측 (Prediction of acoustic noise generated in pcb by MLCC)

  • MLCC is one of the most frequently used component in high-tech device like smart phone. Because of dynamic characteristic of piezoelectric materials which is main ingredient of MLCC, its vibration leads to acoustic noise from pcb. To solve this problem at minimal cost, company has to change only the main noise-generating MLCC to low noise-generating MLCC. To find the main noise source, this study approached to solution from a vibration point of view. From mode shapes of pcb at particular frequencies, two groups can be obtained; MLCCs soldered at where maximum deformation occurs and where anti-phase with respect to the other group appears. When the MLCC belongs to 1st group does not working, amplitude at where maximum deformation occurs decreases compared to when all MLCCs are working. This tendency also appears in noise measurement. This analysis can be put to use in various fields where require noise reduction or noise source identification.

압전초음파모터 제작 및 평가장치 개발 (Development of an Ultrasonic Motor and Evaluation Device)

  • 압전초음파모터는 기존의 전자기식모터와는 달리 압전전체가 발생하는 초음파진동에 의한 마찰력으로 회전자의 구동력을 얻는 모터이다. 이는 구조가 간단하고, 저속에서 높은 토오크를 얻을 수 있어 감속기구 없이 직접구동이 가능한 장점이 있어 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나 이 모터는 인가주파수, 인가전압, 2상의 구동신호사이의 위상차 및 구동신호의 duty비 등에 따라 그 특성이 변하므로, 모터를 제어하기 위해서는 이러한 변수들에 대해 정밀한 특성측정이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 초음파모터의 제작과 함께 컴퓨터인터페이스된 압전초음파모터 평가장치를 개발하였고, 제작한 초음파모터의 특성을 여러 구동변수에 대해 측정하였다. 구동변수들은 모두 디지털로 처리되므로, 초음파모터의 특성측정을 쉽게 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 차후 초음파모터의 디지털제어에 기본 바탕이 된다.
