A Study on The Smoothing Method for Efficient Video Stream Transmission on ATM Network. (ATM 망에서 효율적인 비디오 스트림 전송을 위한 Smoothing 방법에 관한 연구)

  • As multimedia communication services have been widely spreading, the amount of video traffic is rapidly increasing in B-ISDN environment based on the ATM technology. The image quality of MPEG services is very sensitive to the cell losses in ATM network, since each cell contains information needed at decoding process. Since the number of cells in each frame of MPEG is variable, this video smoothing technology need to prepare a buffer for no overflow or underflow at the transmission, requires that some number of cells be taken to the buffer in client before the playback of video. To ensure the high quality image of video, the video smoothing is scheduled by a Group of Picture unit. In this paper, we then apply the theory to reds nightmare encoded in MPEG, and find minimum smoothing buffer size, initial buffer size. It can be used to study the smoothing of stored video.

  • The finishing process of die requires the processing technique of a height efficiency and precision. Because the precision of die gives the quality of goods the influence directly. The hydro-static polishing device employs the hydro-static axis and is able to polish the structure of complex picture under the constant pressure and is got constant surface roughness at all polished plane. Therefore, In order to polish precision sculptured surface, it was used the hydro-static polishing device. Polishing device's polishing characteristic is estimated by polishing conditions which are size of abrasive, material of tools. And, because the surface quality of workpiece depends on polishing pattern which relates to motion of abrasive grain. The polishing characteristic according to polishing pattern was evaluated.

  • In designing furniture and interior accessories, a computer graphic program is normally used over the whole process of manufacturing furniture from idea stage to actual manufacturing stage. It especially play an important role in the modeling process which comes before actual manufacturing stage. in such modeling process, the most important part is expression of quality of material used and surface treatment method. Expression of material quality of wood and surface finishing just like an actual picture enable the designers to analogize the feeling of furniture and interior accessories more exactly over the whole process of actual manufacturing and such a result has positive effect on development field of furniture and accessories.

  • It is difficult to detect edge segments from a noisy image since the image have a noise in piratical applications which utilize some type of visual input capability. Hence, the proposed algorithm consists of the modality tests based on parallel statistical tests without a noise removal preprocessing or postprocessing, and the edge detection technique With one-Pixel edge segments in this paper. The algorithm is very reliable and effective in the case of those situations where the Picture is poor quality and low resolution. And it does'nt require thinning operation and thresholding in hand. Experimental comparision With the more conventional techniques when applied to typical low-quality Pictures confirms good capabilities of the algorithm.

Characterization of Agarose Product from Agar Using DMSO

  • Agar was extracted from Gelidium amansii, which was harvested at the shores of Jeju Island in South Korea. As a unique solvent, the ability of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was used to separate agarose from agar by removing agaropectine and quality of the resultant agarose was characterized for chromatography purposes. Agar sample was agitated by motor-driven stirrer with DMSO in a water bath (at 70$^{\circ}C$ for 2 h) and centrifuged (3,000 rpm for 20 min). Resultant upper agarose layer was gelled, washed, dried and milled. The quality of agarose was evaluated by the analysis of proximate chemical composition, sulfate content, gelling strength and DNA migration. In this study, the separated agarose showed low sulfate amount (0.28%) and showed high gel strength (1190 g ${\cdot}\;cm^{-2}$). The resolution power and the ligase activities gave clear picture about the suitability of the present agarose for practical purposes.

  • Recently as new digital media like High Definition Television (HDTV) have been made popularization. However In case of image quality characteristics of AC PDP, the problem especially raised is 'image sticking' phenomenon, the phenomenon that the previously displayed pattern still remains after the image in realizing high picture quality. In this paper, Image sticking Phenomena observed in AC PDP are defined and classified, these effects are analyzed as luminance, color purity through chromaticity diagram and firing voltage state using light waveform.

  • This study is to develop a new scoring system for rating Hazard analysis and critical control points prerequisite evaluation items for meat shops to provide a more objective and accurate evaluation of food safety compliance. The importance of each item was measured by looking at the hazard severity level and the rate of non-compliance associated with it. It was found that the new scoring system is more stringent and gives a clearer picture of compliance with the most critical safety standards, and therefore is expected to have a positive effect on the hygiene and safety of livestock products.

  • High dynamic range (HDR) technology has been drawing attention in the field of imaging and consumer entertainment. As tools for capturing and creating HDR contents, encoding, and transmission evolve to support HDR formats, various display capabilities are being developed and increased. Hence, there is need for remapping native HDR imagery for display on lower quality legacy standard dynamic range (SDR) displays. This operation is referred to as tone mapping. In this paper, we present a sectional tone mapping method by Lenzen, and expand upon a tone mapping approach to improve temporal stability while maintaining picture quality. Compared to the existing block-based sectional tone mapping, our method uses the edge awareness-based tone mapping. We estimate the performance of the objective metric on temporal flickering. The experimental result shows that the algorithm maintains a smoother relationship between the output luminance values, and this reveals success in reducing halos and improving temporal stability with adopted edge aware filtering.

  • A new video interpolation technique based on variable skip rate of video sequence is proposed in this paper. in the proposed technique. the determination whether a frame is skipped or not is done by the degree of motion complexity of the frame. If the motion complexity of a frame is low the frame is skipped. otherwise it is coded and transmitted. To determine the motion complexity of a frame a new technique using MEF (moving edge in frame),the set of pixels considered as moving edges in a frame. is introduced. In the course of decoding and interpolating of receiver., the motion field is segmented. For the purpose of dividing vector field morphological filtering is applied. Morphological filtering also used to smooth the boundaries between the changed and unchanged region. In the simulation results, the proposed technique shows higher quality and lower fluctuation of picture quality than the conventional techniques on conditioning of the same bit rate.

  • Thanks to the recent advances in smartphones, various high quality contents are being developed. Three dimensional games that were very hard to produce in old picture phones are now used universally in smartphones, satisfying its users. This thesis utilizes a game engine that is more suitable for smartphones in that it can develop high quality game in a timely efficient manner in comparison to low quality development tools. It explains the methods of game planning and development using techniques such as high quality shading processes, optimization functions, etc.
