The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the physical environment and mental health of the adolescents in urban and rural areas. This study was performed using the questionnaire survey method. The research subjects were high school students in Seoul and Jeollabuk-do rural areas. The questionnaire inquired about the housing, neighborhood, and school environments, and these contents were depended on previous studies. The survey was conducted from August 27 to September 6, 2013, and 446 data were collected. They were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 program. The main results are as follows. 1) The urban adolescents evaluated physical environment to be better than rural adolescents. Specifically, the urban adolescents evaluated 'facility/accommodation', 'security/health', 'amenity' of the housing environment, 'disorder', 'comfortability', 'nature awareness' of the neighborhood environment, and 'noise', 'overcrowding', and 'security' of the school environment to be higher. 2) The urban adolescents' self-esteem was significantly higher than rural ones. 3) The physical environment factors, which had effects on adolescents' mental health, are different depending on the areas, and so adolescents' physical environment would be designed by the local environment conditions.
This study aims at reconsidering the spacial structure and suggesting guidelines for campus planning and design with spatial reference to the Campus of PaiChai university, area $208,499m^2$, Taejon. Dormitories of Korean university are planned to pursue qualitative growth after a period of quantitative growth in the 1970s. However, since the 1990s, the physical plan for qualitative growth has not changed significantly and the effects of these changes on dormitory residents has not been verified. The purpose of this study is to identify the environmental factors influencing dormitory life adaptation and to provide a basis for qualitative growth of university dormitories to help dormitory residents adapt to the environment. The research was conducted in three stages. First, the elements of the residential environment of the dormitory complex, which is an independent variable, were derived. The dormitory life adaptation scale was developed to measure the dependent variable. Secondly, a questionnaire survey was conducted to obtain the environmental factors of current dormitory and previous residence and three elements of dormitory life adaptation; 'acceptance of change', 'familiarity', and 'anxiety'. Third, statistical analysis was conducted to determine whether each factor influenced dormitory life adaptation.
The housing is a human's basic space and the comfort and the safety are the most basic conditions. According to the flow of age for Well-Being since the 21th, the suppliers and the users of apartment are making best effort now for the embossment of green environmental quality of apartment, and outstretch their hands for marketing strategic purposes in a side of indoor and outdoor environment with distinctive elements. But these supply and use are on progress competitively with the simple distinction, it is thought that indoor and outdoor environment are must be promoted according to the survey of residents' consciousness. So this study aims to provide basic materials with residents for the promotion of comfortable dwelling environment by solving the basic safety problem and also aims to survey and analyze the residents' safety consciousness in object of physical and non-physical environmental quality of indoor and outdoor of apartment by analyzing indoor air quality pollution, the feeling of being victimize caused by air pollution and safety consciousness according to physical environment elements.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the association between exposure to occupational hazards and the metabolic syndrome. A secondary objective was to analyze the additive and multiplicative effects of exposure to risk factors. Methods: This retrospective cohort was based on 31,615 health examinees at the Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital in Republic of Korea from 2012-2021. Demographic and behavior-related risk factors were treated as confounding factors, whereas three physical factors, 19 organic solvents and aerosols, and 13 metals and dust were considered occupational risk factors. Time-dependent Cox regression analysis was used to calculate hazard ratios. Results: The risk of metabolic syndrome was significantly higher in night shift workers (hazard ratio = 1.45: 95% confidence interval = 1.36-1.54) and workers who were exposed to noise (1.15:1.07-1.24). Exposure to some other risk factors was also significantly associated with a higher risk of metabolic syndrome. They were dimethylformamide, acetonitrile, trichloroethylene, xylene, styrene, toluene, dichloromethane, copper, antimony, lead, copper, iron, welding fume, and manganese. Among the 28 significant pairs, 19 exhibited both positive additive and multiplicative effects. Conclusions: Exposure to single or combined occupational risk factors may increase the risk of developing metabolic syndrome. Working conditions should be monitored and improved to reduce exposure to occupational hazards and prevent the development of the metabolic syndrome.

This study was carried out to analyze the effects of elapsed years and physical properties on fill-slope alignment of forest road. For the study, 21 forest roads in Puy$\check{o}$-gun and Asan-shi of Chungchungnam-do were selected and fifteen factors that might influence on fill-slope alignment were analyzed. The major forms of alignment of the fill-slope in the time of construction were concave and compound. But, with the elapsed years, the concave and compound forms have decreased and linear and convex forms have increased. And fill-slope alignment was strongly related with fill-slope distance, fill-slope gradient and ground gradient among the physical properties.

This study was carried out to analyze the effects of elapsed years and physical properties on invaded vegetation of forest road slope. For the study, 8 forest roads in Asan-si of Chungcheongnam-do were selected and 15 factors that might influence on vegetation invasion were analyzed. In generally, vegetation coverage of slope have increased with the elapsed years. But invasion species have decreased in the cut-slope and increased in fill-slope. There was no significant correlation between rate of vegetation coverage and elapsed years, but rate of vegetation coverage was strongly related with slope aspect. And the species of invasion vegetation affected mostly by the elapsed years and slope aspect among the physical properties.
Recent mass construction of high-rise apartments across the country are questionable whether this housing type is appropriate for Korean families as one of housing alternatives. Therefore, cross-cultural analysis is needed for the evaluation of high-rise apartment living. The purpose of this study is to identify factors related to the evaluation of residential satisfaction, and to examine the differences of satisfaction between Korean and American high-rise resident groups on these factors and personal characteristics. The review of literature and factor analysis identified six important environmental factors. 413 subjects were selected from the major two resident groups in major U.S. cities, and Seoul, Korea. An examination by major factors indicated that five except for neighborhood environmental qualities were significant relationship. It was also found that personal characteristics of these two groups were significantly different. Multiple-regression analysis found that both physical quality of dwelling unit and management/maintenance were important predictors of residential satisfaction.

Objective of Urban regeneration project is a recovery of urban utilities through a physical, environmental, cultural, industrial and economic regeneration. The current paradigm of urban regeneration is not a simple redevelopment as physical redevelopment or improvement. Urban regeneration project is an overall development including a central commercial capacity and business capacity for administration and management, cultural facilities, sightseeing, a residential area. So Urban regeneration project include a various project. Project management of Urban Regeneration project is widely different with general project management. For that purpose, this research would offer to contribute the success factors of urban regeneration project for successful project. For offering these, this research analyzed the properties of urban regeneration project and success factors of construction project by reviewing a literature. The principal characteristics are variety objectives of each district of urban regeneration project, a diversity of stakeholder's objectives and complex structure of stakeholders, an unstructured decision-making system, a lack of plan for business cooperation. We abstracted factors for urban regeneration from brainstorming and verification by experienced experts. We suggest 2 factors related to achieving a goal effectively and 10 factors related to progress of urban regeneration project efficiently.
