교육대학원 체육교육전공 학생들이 경험하는 임용시험 중도포기 및 탈락에 대한 생태학적 접근 (An Ecological Approach to Physical Education Students' Drop-out and Opt-out at Graduate School of Education about Teacher Appointment Examination of Secondary School)

  • 본 연구는 생태학적 모델을 바탕으로 교육대학원 체육교육전공 학생들이 임용고사 시험에 중도포기하거나 탈락할 수 있는 요소들을 탐색하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 교육대학원 체육교육전공으로 학업중인 재학생 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과 개인요소 측면으로는 학업에 영향을 끼치는 현재 직업을 임용고사를 준비하는데 있어서 어떻게 긍정적으로 활용해야 하는지에 대한 노력이 필요했으며 이를 해결하기 위해 임용고사 준비를 위한 우선순위를 명확하게 결정 할 필요가 있었다. 개인 간 요소 측면으로는 주관적 규범에 의해 부정적 영향을 끼치고 있었으며 이로 인해 개인 맞춤형 멘토링 프로그램이 제공될 필요성이 있었다. 조직 간 요소 측면으로는 학비지원의 미흡과 학업을 위한 부적합한 장소가 강조되었으며 실기 지도 강사 혹은 임용시험 준비반과 같이 실질적 도움이 될 수 있는 지원이 필요했다. 이를 종합하여 본 연구에서는 '임용시험 대비 통합시스템'에 대해 소개하였다.

비만 초등학생의 4주 여름 건강증진캠프 참여가 대사증후군 및 인슐린저항성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of 4-Week Health Promotion Summer Camp on the Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance among Obese Elementary Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 에너지 소비 및 심폐 능력 향상을 위한 고강도 유산소 운동, 근력 및 근지구력 강화를 위한 서킷 트레이닝, 생활 습관 변화 교육으로 구성된 4주간의 건강증진 중재 프로그램이 과체중 또는 비만 초등학생의 비만도, 체력수준, 인슐린 저항성 및 대사증후군 미치는 영향을 조사하는데 있다. 과체중 또는 비만 아동 23명을 비만군으로, 정상체중 아동 15명을 정상군으로 선발하였다. 건강증진 프로그램은 총 4주간, 주 3일, 1일 2시간의 운동시간과 1시간의 교육으로 구성되었다. 비만도(체질량지수, 허리둘레, 체지방률), 체력(근력, 근지구력, 유연성, 심폐체력), 인슐린 저항성 및 대사증후군 위험요인(혈압, 공복 혈당, 중성지방, 고밀도 지단백 콜레스테롤)을 측정하였다. 프로그램 참여 후, 비만도의 유의미한 감소는 없었지만, 비만 아동의 체력수준, 인슐린 저항성 및 대사 증후군 위험 요인은 상당한 개선이 있었다. 결과적으로 여름캠프 참여를 통해 비만 초등학생의 체력수준 향상, 인슐린 저항성 감소 및 대사증후군 위험요인의 빈도 감소에 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

인터넷을 이용한 영양교육 프로그램 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Nutrition Education Program through Internet)

  • This study was undertaken to develop and evaluate a nutrition education program with internet for students. A survey was conducted to find out needs for nutrition education program with 430 college or high school student in October, 1997. Eighty four point eight percent of female and 36.0% of male students had a plan to reduce their weight in a near future. Forty four point four percent of subjects obtained information about weight control from mass media, 28.6% of subjects obtained from their neighbor's recommendation. The information wanted to know were high-calorie foods, answered by 42.1% of females, and calorie expenditure of exercise, answered by 31.9% of males. The obese group showed higher preferrence to sweet foods, salty foods, hot foods, convenience foods, processed foods, animal foods, fried and oily foods, and eating-out than normal group(p<0.05). The obese group also showed a tendency of bad food habits, low intake of seaweeds, high intakes of animal fat, cholesterol-rich foods and salty foods. Amount of food intakes was inappropriate in obese group. An internet program for nutrition education was developed using the results of the survey and juvenile nutrition programs. The program consisted of 6 steps ; step 1 was to check one's physical status, step 2 was explanation about good food habits, step 3 was about food management, step 4 was methods of exercise for health, step 5 included how to maintain ideal weight, and step 6 was related-internet site. Pre-education test and post-education test was conducted to evaluate the nutrition education through internet. The score of nutrition knowledge increased from $74.2{\pm}7.4$ to $77.2{\pm}9.6.$ The score of food attitude did not change. The subjects wanted more information about nutrition from internet. Therefore, internet program of nutrition education with specific and interesting topics should be developed more.

Swaziland의 물리치료 현황과 물리치료 교육프로그램 개발방향 (The Present State of Physiotherapy and the Development Direction of a Curriculum for Physiotherapy Educational Program in Swaziland)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to search the present state of physiotherapy and the development direction of a curriculum for physiotherapy educational program, especially in field of orthopedic manual therapy, in Swaziland. Methods: The developed curriculum is as follows: 1. Disease and Health State in Swaziland. 2. Medical Human Resources State of Swaziland. 3. Physiotherapy Services State in Swaziland. 4. Higher Education State in Swaziland. 5. Development Direction of a Curriculum for Physiotherapy Educational Program in Swaziland. Conclusions: There is no a physiotherapist in Swaziland and Swaziland government which has not a physiotherapy education programme in any university of whole country. So we need to the development direction of a curriculum for physiotherapy educational program for the future of Swaziland, especially in field of orthopedic manual therapy. The reason is firstly, most of people are obesity in this country, so many people complained a lot of joint and muscle pain. And secondly, also there are many musculoskeletal disease patients now a day in Swaziland because of HIV/AIDS. Lastly, Swaziland country is in a poor and developing state, so physiotherapist it is hard to make a purchase and setting physiotherapy modalities apparatus at Swaziland country.

Development and Evaluation of the Elderly Health Mileage Program to Promote Exercise

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a Health Mileage Program (EHMP) to promote exercise amongst the elderly and assess the feasibility of the program. Methods: A literature review to identify the effects of exercise in the elderly was conducted. Relevant cases were investigated and in-depth interviews with exercise instructors were conducted, after which the EHMP was developed based on the assessment and tested in three regions. The outcome was evaluated using indicators such as attendance rate, number of participants, proportion of participants who received health education, and proportion of participants who measured their physical and mental status. Results: Based on assessment, we developed an EHMP composed of four steps. Following application of the EHMP in three regions, ${\geq}80%$ of the participants received incentives. Additionally, ${\geq}85%$ of participants underwent measurement of their physical and mental status. The proportion of participants who received health education differed among regions. Conclusion: The EHMP program increased participation and interest in exercise programs for the elderly. However, there is concern regarding availability due to regional differences in resources related to elderly exercise; therefore, it will be necessary to invest in infrastructure, including facilities, and knowledgeable instructors.

농촌 지역거주 노인을 대상으로 한 허약관리 프로그램의 효과 (A Frailty Management Program for the Vulnerable Elderly in Rural Areas)

  • Purpose: This study attempted to confirm whether the suicide prevention effect could be achieved by managing the frailty of the elderly in rural areas. Methods: This study is a single-group pre-post study design. The frailty management program was applied twice a week for 12 weeks for the vulnerable elderly in the rural area from 16th April to 31st May in 2020. The program consisted of physical exercise, health education on nutrition management and disease control, cognitive training, and protein drink provision. Results: The average age of the participants was 77.1 years, and they lived alone (88.6%). As a result of providing the program, there were positive results such as increase in body strength (pre 12.27: post 13.27) and weight (pre 58.51: post 59.13), and decrease in depression (pre 4.66: post 1.20), and there was no statistically significant change in quality of life, Time Up & Go, and BMI. Conclusion: Frailty should be managed to prevent suicide in the elderly. It is necessary to expand and apply various programs that combine physical functions and emotional interventions such as health education, and exercise to maintain muscle strength.

성인 여성의 체중조절을 위한 영양-운동 병행 교육 프로그램의 효과 (Effectiveness of Nutrition-Exercise Education Program on Weight Control of Adult Women)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of a nutrition and exercise education program on weight control of adult women. The subjects of this study were 28 adult women aged 20-59 years residing in the Daegu area. The nutrition-exercise educational period was 12 weeks. The collected data consisted of items on general characteristics, anthropometric data, blood biochemical values, physical strength data, dietary behavior and nutrition knowledge scores of the subjects. During the 12 weeks of weight control, body mass index(BMI), % of body fat, body fat mass and waist-hip ratio significantly decreased. The level of plasma triglyceride decreased, but not significantly. The level of total cholesterol did not change compared to baseline before the program. After the weight control program, back muscle strength, sit-ups, push-ups, and sit-and-reach tests of the subjects significantly improved. The nutrition knowledge scores of the subjects significantly increased. Therefore, these results suggest that the nutrition-exercise education program may contribute effectively to weight reduction with improvement of physical strength in adult women.

Perceived Competency, Frequency, Training Needs in Physical Assessment among Registered Nurses

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify registered nurses learning needs about physical assessment. Specifically, what are the perceived competency, frequency of skill use and the unmet training needs. Methods: The study was an exploratory survey study. The sample was 104 registered nurses. Data were collected through three instruments: The Perceived Competency in Physical Assessment Scale, the Frequency of Physical Assessment Scale, and the Training Needs of Physical Assessment Scale which incorporated 30 core Physical Assessment skills. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data. Results: Auscultation of heart and lung sounds and inspection of the spine were rated by the subjects as physical assessment skills they feel least competent and also were less frequently performed. The most competent area for physical assessment was neurological system. The respiratory and abdominal system was identified as two systems that more education would be needed. Nurses with less than one year of working experience reported needing more training. Nurses with more than five years of clinical work experience performed physical assessment more frequently than nurses with less than five year of work experience. The perceived competency was positively related to the frequency of physical assessment. Conclusion: Continuing education is necessary to further train registered nurses regarding physical assessment skills and the program needs to be focused on the area which nurses are less competent for and have high training need.

대학수학의 메이커수업 요인이 대학생의 수학에 대한 흥미와 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Maker Class Factors in University on Interest in Mathematics and Attitude to Mathematics)

  • 본 연구에서는 대학수학 메이커수업 특성의 요인인 강사역량, 교육프로그램, 교육서비스, 물리적 교육환경 요인과 대학생들의 수학에 대한 흥미 및 태도 간의 영향관계를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 부산권 소재 대학교에 재학 중인 이공계열 남녀 대학생 228명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, SPSS 26.0 프로그램을 활용하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 대학수학 메이커수업 특성 요인 중 강사역량(β=.349, t=6.380, p<.001), 교육프로그램(β=.361, t=5.650, p<.001), 물리적 교육환경(β=.196, t=3.281, p<.01) 요인이 대학생의 수학에 대한 흥미에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 대학수학 메이커수업에 대한 흥미(β=.349, t=6.380, p<.001) 요인은 대학생의 수학에 대한 태도에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학수학 메이커수업 특성 요인 중 강사역량(β=.340, t=6.365, p<.001), 교육프로그램(β=.352, t=5.559, p<.001), 물리적 교육환경(β=.226, t=3.537, p<.01) 요인이 대학생의 수학에 대한 태도에 유의미한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 대학수학 메이커수업의 교육프로그램 수준과 강사역량이 높고, 물리적 교육환경이 뛰어날 때, 대학생의 수학에 대한 태도 뿐 아니라 궁극적으로 수학에 대한 태도에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 결론에 도달하였다.

고혈압 여자 노인 대상의 보건소 영양교육 효과 분석 (The Effects of a Nutrition Education Program for Hypertensive Female Elderly at the Public Health Center)

  • Hypertension is among the most common and important risk factors for stroke, heart attack, and heart failure which is considered to be the leading cause of death in Korea. The prevalence rate of hypertension in Korea is 27.9%, according to the 2006 Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey. Since non-pharmacologic nutrition education is recommended as the first step in the management of hypertension, evaluation of nutrition program is needed to form strategies for improving patients' dietary adherence. This study was designed to evaluate the overall effectiveness of a hypertension nutrition education program (HNEP) for reducing the salt intake, at a public health center located in Gyunggi-province. The HNEP was offered for 16 weeks from May to September in 2007. Nutrition education activities included cooking classes, food preparation demonstrations, physical fitness programs, salty taste preference test sessions, games, case-study presentations, planning and evaluation of menus, etc. Forty patients participated fully in the program which had 47 female enrollees. Data about nutrient intake (24-hour recall), nutrition knowledge, food behavior were collected before (baseline) and after the program. Changes after program completion indicated the following: 1) diastolic blood pressure was decreased (p < 0.05), 2) sodium (salt) intake was also decreased (p < 0.01), especially baseline high salt intake group, 3) nutrition knowledge was improved (p<0.001), 4) dietary behaviors for maintaining a low salt diet was improved (p < 0.001), 5) participants preferred cooking class from nutrition education methods. As a conclusion, it appears that a nutrition education program for hypertensive female elderly for reducing the salt intake might effectively decrease blood pressure and salt intake. It also improves nutrition knowledge, dietary behavior, and finally adherence to a recommendable low-sodium diet.
