If the Photovoltaic(PV) Module should get physical load, the PV module will be warped according to elongation of the front glass and then micro-crack will be occurred in the heat sealed Solar Cell. This micro-crack drops output of the short circuit current and the open circuit voltage of the PV Module. This is because of increase of resistance component by micro-crack. Micro-crack at specific Solar Cell in the module reduces the durability of PV Module such as less output, Hot-Spot in the PV module caused by Solar Cell output mismatch, heat generating as resistance component caused by micro-crack. In this study, among some factors which effect to the output of crystalline PV Module, we will see how the micro-crack caused by mechanical stress effects to the electrical output of PV Module.

We introduced sensitizing dyes into the bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) photovoltaic (PV) layer of polymer solar cells (PSCs). The sensitizing dyes doped were Bis(tetra butyl ammonium) cis-dithio cyanato bis(2,2'-bipyridine-4-carboxylicacid-4'-carboxylate) ruthenium (II) (N719 dye) and the BHJ PV layer used was made of poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and phenyl $C_{61}$-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). It was found that the N719 dyes increase the photovoltaic performance, i.e., increasing open-circuit voltage and short-circuit current density with improved fill factor. For the P3HT:PCBM PV cells doped with the N719 dyes (0.24 wt%), an increase in power conversion efficiency of 4.0% was achieved, compared to that of the control cells (3.6%) without the N719 dyes.

Organic semiconductors have attracted considerable attention due to their interesting physical properties followed by various technological applications in the area of electronics and opto-electronics. It has been a long time since organic solar cells were expected as a low-cost high-energy conversion device. Although practical use of them has not been achieved, technological progress continues. Morphology of the materials, organic/inorganic interface, metal cathodes, molecular packing and structural properties of the donor and acceptor layers are essential for photovoltaic response. We have fabricated solar-cell devices based on copper-phthalocyanine(CuPc) as a donor(D) and fullerene($C_{60}$) as an electron acceptor(A) with doped charge transport layers, and BCP as an exciton blocking layer(EBL). We have measured photovoltaic characteristics of the solar-cell devices using the xenon lamp as a light source.

In this paper, degradation in field-aged PV modules including degradation of interconnect, discoloration of encapsulant and hot spot have been observed and analyzed. From the results, photovoltaic module installed for 15 years shows around 13~20% drop of electrical properties due to the interconnect degradation and PV module passed 19 years has been found to drop of around 20% mainly by the encapsulant discoloration. Fill factor of the electrode oxidized photovoltaic module has been dropped by the amount of 6~10% due to the change of irradiance. It is because maximum voltage(Vmp) decreases according to the increase of irradiance.
This research aims to identify the effect of message design on university students' attitude toward the BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) and find out its educational availability and implications in environment education. For this purpose, we conducted a survey on questionnaires answered by 244 students of S university at lunch time in the school restaurant with the imaginary scenario that it is required to increase the food price due to photovoltaic-equipment. The students were divided into 9 groups and according to whether the eco-friendly message components are offered and the different rate of a rise in the foods' price. In order to look over various aspects of attitudes, the questionnaires are subdivided into 2 parts according to the classification of attitudes; the preference as an cognitive-affective attitude and the intention of visit as an behavioral attitudes. The results of this study are summarized as follows; (1) The eco-friendly message design has a significant effect on students' attitude. (2) If given explanation including information regarding eco-friendly facility and marking eco-friendly' adject, it has an positive influence on students' preference and intention of visit. (3) It is more effective to offer the information about the reason why the cost increase than just explain the eco-friendly characteristics of object as the message design strategy to attract student's positive attitude. (4) Although it is required to burden a certain scale of cost, students show higher preference and intention of visit if given the eco-friendly message design.
In this study, we conducted a study to predict the photovoltaic power by constructing the sensor based meteorological data observation system and the accurate terrain data obtained by using LiDAR surveying. The average sunshine hours in 2018 is 4.53 hours and the photovoltaic power is 2,305 MWh. In order to analyze the effect of photovoltaic power on the installation angle of solar modules, we installed module installation angle at $10^{\circ}$ intervals. As a result, the generation time was 4.24 hours at the module arrangement angle of $30^{\circ}$, and the daily power generation and the monthly power generation were the highest, 3.37 MWh and 102.47 MWh, respectively. Therefore, when the module arrangement angle is set to $30^{\circ}$, the generation efficiency is increased by about 4.8% compared with the module angle of $50^{\circ}$. As a result of analyzing the influence of the seasonal photovoltaic power by the installation angle of the solar module, it was found that the photovoltaic power was high in the range of $40^{\circ}{\sim}50^{\circ}$, where the module angle was large from November to February when the weather was cold. From March to October, it was found that the photovoltaic power amount is $10^{\circ}{\sim}30^{\circ}$ with small module angle.

The objective of this study was to improve the accuracy of calculation and estimation of solar radiation and duration of sunshine, which are the most important variables of photovoltaic power generation in deciding the location of photovoltaic facilities efficiently. With increasing interest in new and renewable energies, research on solar energy is also being conducted actively, but there have not been many studies on the location of photovoltaic facilities. Thus, this study calculated solar duration and solar radiation based on geographical factors, which have the most significant effect on solar energy in GIS environment, and corrected the results of analysis using diffuse radiation. Moreover, we performed ordinary kriging, a spatial statistical analysis method, for estimating values for parts deviating from the spatial resolution of input data, and used variogram, which can determine the spatial interrelation and continuity of data, in order to estimate accurate values. In the course, we compared the values of variogram factors and estimates from applicable variogram models, and selected the model with the lowest error rate. This method is considered helpful to accurate decision making on the location of photovoltaic facilities.
The economic growth and highly industrialized society have increased the demand for electricity power. As a result, concerns were focused on the energy resource scarcity and global warming. That is why the photovoltaic generation system to address these concerns has been in the spotlight recently. In this thesis, a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system was operated experimentally for the purpose of promoting the spread of the photovoltaic generation system in the future. Also, the effect of the type of array structure has on the performance of the photovoltaic generation system was evaluated quantitatively and by analyzing the comprehensive operating characteristics, the following results were obtained. In the demo system operated for a year, the average irradiation was measured to be 455,076 $[W/m^2]$ and the maximum irradiation to be 626,622 $[W/m^2]$ in May, up 171,546 $[W/m^2]$ or 38[%] compared with the average irradiation. The minimum irradiation was observed to be 294,022$[W/m^2]$ in December, down 161,054 $[W/m^2]$ or 35[%] compared with the average irradiation. The generation power in situation where there is plenty of irradiation was more than the average one, and the generation power in the fixed system amounted to 32[%], the single-axis tracker to 37[%], and the dual-axis tracker to 39[%]. The generation power in situation where there is little irradiation was less than the average one, and the generation power in the dual-axis tracker amounted to 41[%], the single-axis tracker to 40[%], and the fixed system to 36[%].
Long-term stability of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) module is critical for the commercialization. We investigated the effect of sealing technology on the long-term stability of the $10cm{\times}11cm$ sized DSSC modules. We applied the concept of secondary sealing to the module and then performed several stability tests such as humidity cycle, 1 sun light soaking and outdoor stability tests. The enhanced stability was confirmed for the DSSC module employing optimized sealing materials and architectures.
Photovoltaic effect is confirmed in DSSC fabricated under the common conditions. In upper electrodes, validity of ZnO as new TCO material was investigated and an improvement of characteristics in DSSC was tried by control of process conditions at semiconductive powder layer. ZnO thin film showed very high resistivity, therefore efficiency of solar cell was lower than that of conventional ITO-related material. DSSC characteristics was able to improve by thin blocking layer doposited between the TCO and semiconductor layer.
