태양전지의 전기적인 출력특성이 태양전지모듈에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of PV Cell's Electrical Characteristics for PV Module Application)

  • In this paper, we study The Effects of PV Cell's Electrical Characteristics for PV Module Application. Photovoltaic module consists of serially connected solar cell which has low open circuit voltage and high short circuit current characteristics. The whole current flow of PV module is restricted by lowest current of one solar cell. For the experiment, we make PV module composing the solar cells that have short circuit current difference of 0%, 1%, 3% and Random. The PV module exposed about 35days, its the maximum power drop ratio was 4.282% minimum and 6.657% maximum. And PV module of low current characteristics has electrical stress from other modules. The solar cell temperature of PV module was higher compared to PV cell. To prevent early degradation, it is need to have attention to PV cell selection.

  • PV module power is calculated on PV module surface temperature adjustment by irradiation on the summer and autumn in NOCT(Nominal Operating Cell Temperature) conditions. The summer and autumn periods were selected because of large variation in outdoor air temperature and irradiation. This study was performed to understand relationship between PV module surface temperature and photovoltaic power using field measurement. As a results, it was determined that the amount of irradiation was proportional to the amount of photovoltaic power in the field measurement. However, it was also identified that the PV power generation decreased by increased PV module surface temperatures due to irradiation.

  • Amid the booming research on new and renewable energy, the photovoltaic(PV) industry has been growing around the PV advanced countries such as Japan, Germany, Europe and USA. In recent years, China became a strong performer in the world PV market share, increasing solar cell production rapidly. Both world solar cell and module production and installation rose steadily in 2007 like recent bumper years. In 2007, the PV industry produced 4.28GW and the installations reached a record high of 2.83GW, representing growth of 60percent over the previous year.

  • If the Photovoltaic(PV) Module should get physical load, the PV module will be warped according to elongation of the front glass and then micro-crack will be occurred in the heat sealed Solar Cell. This micro-crack drops output of the short circuit current and the open circuit voltage of the PV Module. This is because of increase of resistance component by micro-crack. Micro-crack at specific Solar Cell in the module reduces the durability of PV Module such as less output, Hot-Spot in the PV module caused by Solar Cell output mismatch, heat generating as resistance component caused by micro-crack. In this study, among some factors which effect to the output of crystalline PV Module, we will see how the micro-crack caused by mechanical stress effects to the electrical output of PV Module.

  • To expect accurately the maximum power of solar cell module under various installation conditions, it is required to know the performance characteristics like temperature dependence. Today, the PV (photovoltaic) market in Korea has been growing. Also BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) systems are diversified and become popular. But thermal dependence of PV module is little known to customers and system installers. In IEC 61215,a regulation for testing the crystalline silicon solar cell module, the testing method is specified for modules. However there is limitation for testing the module with diverse application examples. In extreme installation method, there is no air flow between rear side of module and ambient, and it can induce temperature increase. In this paper, we studied the roof type installation of PV module on the surface of one-axis tracker system. We measured temperature on every component of PV module and compared to open-rack structure. As a result, we provide the foundation that explains temperature characteristics and NOCT (nominal operation cell temperature) difference.   • This paper presents a dynamic, electric-thermal model for a photovoltaic (PV) cell that combines electrical and thermal parameters. In this model, the irradiance and ambient temperature are used to calculate the PV cell temperature based on a five-layer thermal model. The cell temperature is then used in the electrical model to accurately adjust the PV cell output electrical characteristics and power. A custom experimental setup was built to test and verify the electrical and thermal characteristics of the PV cell and its surrounding layers. The electric-thermal model is validated using experimental data in realistic scenarios. This PV model can be scaled up and used to simulate PV systems in wide variety of applications, extreme environmental conditions, and fault conditions in real-time.

  • The output power of photovoltaic(PV) generation system is strongly affected by weather conditions. To make up for the defect of solar energy, energy storages such as battery and electrolyzer are usually integrated with photovoltaic cell. This paper focuses on the way to store energy surplus with battery and electrolyzer and to provide energy with battery. Photovoltaic generation system is modeled with PV cell, DC/DC converter, DC/AC inverter, battery and electrolyzer. The operation algorithm to regulate PV output power with battery and electrolyzer is suggested. The simulation results show that battery and electrolyzer effectively cooperate with each other to compensate the fluctuation of PV generation system.

  • The photovoltaic(PV) industry has been growing worldwide. Recently, the PV industries not also in the traditional PV advanced countries but also in other countries are rapidly growing. Especially, China has become the largest supplier in the world PV supply side since 2007. Both the world PV supply and demand rose steadily in 2008 like recent bumper years. In 2008, the world solar cell production reached 6.85GW~7.91GW presenting growth of 85% over the previous year. On the demand side, 81 countries contributed to the 5.95GW presenting growth of 110% over the previous year.
