  • Slit-coater nozzle is one of core equipments of coating process in LCD panel manufactory. As a glass substrate size become bigger, a nozzle performance and a high-speed coating process are considered important issues. To design the optimal nozzle, the characteristics of fluid inside nozzle are studied using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) method. Through research on design factors, we can know the coating uniformity influenced by lip length, cavity angle and gap size. The future work for this study is to find the factors in high-speed coating process and function between factors of design.

  • Microlens patterned micro-mold fabrication method for Light Guiding Plate(LGP), kernel part of LCD-BLU(Back Light Unit), was presented. Instead of erosion dot pattern for LCP optical design, microlens pattern, fabricated by LIGA-reflow process, was applied. Optical pattern design method was also developed not only for negative pattern LGP, but also positive pattern LGP. In order to achieve flow balance during the micro-injection molding process and dimensional accuracy, two LGP pattern was made in one micro-mold.

  • Polycrystalline diamond films are deposited on a Si substrate by employing a 2.45 GHz $\mu$-wave plasma CVD system. Prior to depositing the diamond film, a DPR(diamond photo-resist) layer is coated to enhance the nucleation density. The growth rate of diamond films increases with the $\mu$-wave power and approaches to be about $1.5{\mu}m/hr$ at 1100 W. Structural properties of diamond films deposited are characterized from their SEM photographs, Raman spectra, and AFM surface images. Lager grain size, higher intensity of diamond peak, and smoother surface are observed for films deposited at a higher power. The possible mechanism on the diamond growth is also discussed to explain the experimental results.

  • In this paper, we have proposed piezoelectric energy harvester employing the pillar structure with the diameter size of 500 um. So we have selected the Su-8 photo-resist and modified lithography process to manufacture the pillar structure with height above the $500{\mu}m$. Simultaneously, we tried to make a comparative study to use ceramic bulk - polymer structure In this paper, we will report the process and properties of micro pillar structure based on the PMN-PZT ($Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbZrTiO_3$) materials. Finally, We will propose a method for generating electrical energy with a piezoelectric element using vibration, an energy source can be obtained from the "clean" energy.

During injection molding process, experimental study was conducted to improve replication quality and brightness of ${\sim}50um$ micro-lens pattern mold. The effect of mold temperature for the replication quality of micro-lens array was studied.

  • 본 논문에서는 ICP Poly Etcher를 이용한 Dry Etch에서 몇가지 공정조건의 변화에 따른 Etching 특성 변화를 연구하였다. 주요 가스유량들이 증가 할 때, Poly-Si 의 Etch rate는 증가 하였으며 Uniformity는 나빠진 것을 확인 할 수 있었고 다른 특성들은 특별한 변화를 보이지 않았다. 주요 Gas인 HBr의 증가는 PR(Photo Resist)와 Uniformity에 영향을 주었다. 이 논문을 통해 HBr의 유량이 Poly-Si Etching에 영향을 주는 결과를 알아 볼 수 있었고 HBr 가스의 유량 증가가 Polymer의 생성에 영향을 줘 Selectivity와 Uniformity를 증가 시킨다는 것도 확인 해 볼 수 있었다.

The effect of ink adhesion on color filter glass substrates by different plasma treatment

  • This study discussed the effect of ink adhesion on color filter glass after different kinds of plasma treatment. From contact angle analysis, we could get different ink adhesion results after HMDSZ, $O_2$, IPA, and $CF_4$ plasma treatment. Substrates after PFMCH plasma treatment have good surface hydrophobic property, and contact angle raise from $<10^{\circ}\;to\;50^{\circ}$.

  • New method for the design, fabrication, and calibration of micro-machined heat flux sensor has been developed. Two types of micro-machined heat flux sensor having different thicknesses of the thermal-resistance layer are fabricated using the MEMS technique. Photo-resist patterning using a chrome mask, bulk-etching and copper-nickel sputtering using a shadow mask are applied to make heat flux sensors, which are calibrated in the convection-type heat flux calibration facility. The sensitivity of the device varies with thermal-resistance layer, and hence can be used to measure the heat flux in heat-transfer phenomena.

  • Spinning mechanism is generally used in coasting process on grass plates. Rebounding PR(Photo Resist) which leads to occur inferiority of coating process is caused by vibrational energy of whole coating system. In this study, the sensitivity analysis is performed to analyze and reduce vibrational terms in the spin coating system. The sensitivity analysis is bared on the numerical expression of this system. By the bond graph method. power flow of each system is represented by some basic bond graph elements. Any energy domain system is modeled using the unified elements. The modelled spin coater system is verified with power spectrum data measured by FFT analyzer. As the results of verifying model parameters and sensitivity analysis, principal factors causing vibration phenomenon are mentioned. A study on vibration method in the spin coating system is discussed.
