  • The $2{\times}25kv$ AT electric power feeding method in the A.C. electric train adopts the one-phase power feeding method as the standard due to a voltage phase difference, and the distance between the two neighboring substations is 50km due to voltage drop. The one-phase power feeding method makes the system operation feasible, while making it unfavorable for power supply. Moreover, railroad involves large-capacity single-phase load, and if it is expected to continue to rise, it is necessary to research on measures to stabilize the supply of power to railroad cars with the existing facilities. In this study, a parallel power feeding method between neighboring substations is proposed to stabilize the supply of electric power to electric railroad cars under the 2*25kv AT power feeding method and the loop current induced by voltage phase difference between the two neighboring substations during parallel power feeding is investigated.

  • With increase of load power the case it will not be able to supply the power which is necessary to the vehicle, it establishes dosage increase of main transformer of substation or power compensation equipment, and must supply the power which is necessary. But like this method the expense and the hour when it is considerable are necessary. As an alternative plan, if neighborhood substation can supply power through parallel feeding then it can supply power applying the equipment of existing.   • A new precess which consists of pre-dewatering device, post composting for solid phase and post sequencing batch reactor(SBR) for liquid phase was designed. Nitrogen in supernatants of dewatering device was removed by sequencing batch reactor. Experiments were carried out to investigate the SBR operation modes such as fill ratio, SRT, and operation cycle. The optimum fill ratio, SRT and aeration/non-aeration time were 1/12, 15days, and 2hr aeration / 1hr non aeraion, respectively. Methanol as an external carbon source increased denitrification when step feeding method was applied, not single feeding method.

The Influence of Phase Feeding Methods on Growth Performance, Meat Quality, and Production Cost in Growing-Finishing Pigs (성장단계별 사료급여 방법이 육성-비육돈의 성장과 육질 그리고 생산비에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to evaluate the influence of phase feeding methods on growth performance, carcass characteristics, pork quality, and economical efficiency in growing-finishing pigs. A total of 120 crossbred pigs ([Yorkshire ${\times}$ Landrace] ${\times}$ Duroc), average initial body weight 25.23 ${\pm}$ 2.66 kg, were allotted to 5 treatments by body weight and sex in a randomized complete block (RCB) design. Each treatment had 6 replicates with 4 pigs per pen. The treatments were 1) A (fed late weaner feed during whole phase), 2) B (fed late weaner feed in growing phase and grower feed in finishing phase), 3) C (fed grower feed during whole phase), 4) D (fed grower feed in growing phase and early finisher feed in early and late finishing phase), 5) E (fed grower feed in growing phase, early finisher feed in early finishing phase and late finisher feed in late finishing phase). Commercial diets bought from private feed company were used for this experiment. During the early growing phase (6 wks), treatments A and B showed higher growth performance than that of other treatments (P<0.05). However, growth performance tended to be similar among treatments at 10 wks after feeding and there was no difference in time of market weight (13 wks). Moreover, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration was lowered in treatment E than other treatments during whole experimental period (P<0.01). Carcass characteristics and pork quality were measured when body weight of pigs reached at 110.33 ${\pm}$ 2.1 kg. Days to market weight (110 kg), quality grade, pork color, and pork pH did not show any significant difference among treatments. These results suggested that phase feeding based upon growth stages of pigs showed no detrimental effects on growth performance and the pork quality. Moreover, feed cost was saved approximately 37% by phase feeding method without delaying of days to market weight compared to general conventional feeding method (B) of swine farm in Korea.

A Study on the Leading Phase Operation of Single Phase PWM Converter Train (단상PWM컨버터 차량의 진상운전에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a new operation method for the single phase PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) converter train. Recently, the trains adopting the PWM converter have become the majority in the electric locomotives since there are distinct advantages over the predecessors, which can be operated at near unity power factor. However, a slight modification of the control scheme makes this kind of vehicles run in the region of leading power factor. Although this feature seems to be of no significant use by itself, the leading phase operation can improve the voltage profile and the line loss of the feeding systems is decreased by compensating the reactive power loss along the line when it considered together with the feeding systems. This method is even more economical and efficient comparing with the installation of SVC that is mainly used for this purpose since the train can become a movable compensator. With the conditions and some essential formula for the leading phase operation, a new power factor control algorithm has been proposed to implement this scheme. The results of simulation through SIMULINK model show that the proposed method is suitable enough for practical use.

  • This paper presents exact autotransformer-fed AC electric railroad system modeling using constant current mode, and single-phase STATCOM(Static Synchronous Compensator) which has an effect on electric railroad system. An AC electric railroad is rapidly changing single-phase feeding electric power. To avoid voltage fluctuation under single phase loads, electric power should be received from a large source. The system modeling theory is based on the solution of algebraic. The AC electric railroad load model is nonlinear. Therefore this paper is considered nonlinear load using PSCAD/EMTDC. And the proposed modeling method is considered the line self-impedances and mutual-impedances that techniques for the AC electric railroad system modeling analysis, and that single-phase STATCOM can reliably compensate the voltage drop. In the case study, the allowance range of feeding voltage is 22.5∼27.5 kV, AT-fed AC electric railroad system circuit is analyzed by loop equation both normal and extension modes. The simulation objectives are to calculate the catenary and rail voltages with respect to ground, as the train moves along a section of line between two adjacent ATs. The results show that single-phase STATCOM can reduce the voltage drop in the feeding circuit and improve the power quality at AC electric railroad system by compensating the reactive power.

  • Generally the control method of wire feeding motor in welding machine has been used full-wave phase control method. The fire-angle control generates low frequency speed ripple, and it causes the output current ripple. So it results in the variation of welding condition and low welding performances such as spatter generation and bead state. For the purpose of welding performances improvement by speed controller in wire feeding motor, in this paper the constant speed control method for welding machine is proposed. The proposed system is composed of speed control loop and current control loop. As a result of experiment by using proposed constant wire feed experiment by using proposed constant wire feed speed controller, the output voltage and current waveform and metal transfer are maintained stably. And moreover the number of instantaneous short circuit occurrence is reduced remarkably.

  • 금속을 청정 에너지원으로 이용하기 위해 분말형 금속연료 연소시스템이 필요하고, 이에 대한 선행연구로 분말을 정량 공급할 수 있는 공급기를 설계 제작하였다. 유동층 방식의 분말 공급에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 변수들을 피스톤 및 벤츄리관이 적용된 공급 방법을 사용하여 통제한 후, 조절 가능한 공급기 내부 압력만을 변수로 하여 중요 성능인 분말 공급량을 직접적인 중량 측정 방법으로 측정하였다. 측정 실험의 결과로부터 연소시스템에 적용할 공급기의 작동 조건을 도출할 수 있었고, 작동 조건에서 벗어난 영역에서 분말 공급기가 가지고 있는 문제점을 확인하였다.

The constant current mode model objectives are to calculate the catenary and rail voltages with the loop equation. When there are more than one train in the AC electric railroad system, the principle of superposition applies and the only difference between the system analyses for one train. Finally, this paper shows the general equation of an AC electric railroad system, and that equation has no relation with trains number, trains position, and feeding distance.
