  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the velocity conversion coefficient and invariance for the optimal phase ratio on the performance of the women's triple jump. Methods : Three-dimensional kinematic data were obtained from the three finalists of the women's triple jumper competition at the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships. Computer simulations were performed using the biomechanical model of the triple jump to optimize the phase ratio for the longest actual distance for all athletes with altered velocity conversion coefficients. Results : Top elite triple jumpers showed better technical consistency at the phase ratio. Also, no consistent relationship was observed between the loss in horizontal velocity and the gain in vertical velocity across supporting the three phase. In addition, regardless of the magnitude A1, all athletes were optimized with jump-dominated technique. Finally, as the magnitude of A1 increased, the athletes showed better performance. The obtained overall distance jumped showed the longest actual distance when the optimal phase ratio was transferred from hop-dominated to jump-dominated(the step ratio was 30%~31%), and when the optimal phase ratio was transferred from balanced to jump-dominated(the step ratio was 27%~29%). Conclusion : Future studies need to be conducted in order to explore the active landing motion and the inclination angle of the body with the velocity conversion coefficient simultaneously at each supporting phase.

  • This study relates to a microemulsion gel which is applied in various cosmetic preparations because of good appearance, superior stability and a thin, uniform, non-greasy fi Am on the skin. Main object of this study is to elucidate the influence of polyol(clarifying agent and/or coupling agent in microemulsion) on microemulsion and to establish the optimum conditions for microemulsion gel formation in the view of superior consistency, stability, clarity and pick-up from a container. The constituents of the system are composed of water, polar ester oi1, nonionic surfactant and polyol. Using the three-component phase diagram and the tetrahedral-phase diagram, we have investigated the changes of transparence regions, consistency and resonance effect by an impact in microemulsion gel varying in polyol ratio. The results of this study showed that the variation in the content of water and couple ins agent has major influence on the microemulsion gel and the optimum formation region of microemulsion gel is the widest when the ratio of glycerine(coupling agent) to water is 63-75% It is believed that optimum use of polyol seems to be helpful to obtain the microemulsion gel containing maximum amount of oil phase with minimum amount of surfactant which is recently one of the major problems of cosmetic chemists.

  • To solve the problem of poor noise suppression capability and frequent loss of edge contour and detailed information in current fusion methods, an infrared and visible light image fusion method based on variational multiscale decomposition is proposed. Firstly, the fused images are separately processed through variational multiscale decomposition to obtain texture components and structural components. The method of guided filter is used to carry out the fusion of the texture components of the fused image. In the structural component fusion, a method is proposed to measure the fused weights with phase consistency, sharpness, and brightness comprehensive information. Finally, the texture components of the two images are fused. The structure components are added to obtain the final fused image. The experimental results show that the proposed method displays very good noise robustness, and it also helps realize better fusion quality.

  • The continual reassessment method (CRM) provides a Bayesian estimation of the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) in phase I clinical trials. The CRM has been proposed as an alternative design of the standard design. The CRM has been modified to improve practical feasibility and, recently, the likelihood approach CRM has been proposed. In this paper we investigate the consistency and asymptotic normality of the modified likelihood approach CRM in which the maximum likelihood estimate is used instead of the posterior mean. Small-sample properties of the consistency is examined using complete enumeration. Both the asymptotic results and their small-sample properties show that the modified CRML outperforms the standard design.

  • In the future mobile computing environment, it will be generalized that a mobile host with portable Laptop of Palmtop accesses to database through wireless communication channel. For solving the problems which are caused from low bandwidth of wireless communication, mobile hosts cache the datum used frequently on them. Thus the mobile hosts must always retain the cache consistency for the correctness of the cached datum. the cache consistency is mainly affected from the unrestricted host mobility and the disconnection of the communication between mobile hosts and mobile support station. In this situation, the strategy to retain efficiently cache consistency is required. In this paper, we propose a strategy using updatable message for retaining the cache consistency, in the mobile computing environment, with replicated database supporting 2 phase commit protocol. This strategy makes use of a updatable message to resolve the cache consistency problem, since mobile host crosses the boundary of cell. In using of this updatable, it find out and cache only the update data of missing invalidation message. As a result, the proposed strategy utilizes network bandwidth efficiently because it is not need to delete all the cached datum with any datum change.

  • In this article, we review the statistical methods and theory for dose finding in early phase clinical trials, where the primary objective is to identify an acceptable dose for further clinical investigation. The dose finding literature is initially motivated by applications in phase I clinical trials, in which dose finding is often formulated as a percentile estimation problem. We will present some important phase I methods and give an update on new theoretical developments since a recent review by Cheung (2010), with an aim to cover a broader class of dose finding problems and to illustrate how the general dose finding theory may be applied to evaluate and improve a method. Specifically, we will illustrate theoretical techniques with some numerical results in the context of a phase I/II study that uses trinary toxicity/efficacy outcomes as basis of dose finding.

  • A correction method of reflectivity in partial beam blockage (PBB) area is suggested, which is based on the combination of digital terrain information and self-consistency principle between polarimetric observation. First, the reflectivity was corrected by adding the radar energy loss estimated from beam blockage simulation using digital elevation model (DEM) and beam propagation geometry in standard atmosphere. The additional energy loss by unexpected obstacles and non-standard beam propagation was estimated by using the coefficient between accumulated reflectivity ($Z_H$) and differences of differential phase shift (${\Phi}_{DP}$) along radial direction. The proposed method was applied to operational S-band dual-polarization radar at Jindo and its performance was compared with those of simulation method and self-consistency method for six rainfall cases. When the accumulated reflectivity and increment of ${\Phi}_{DP}$ along radial direction are too small, the self-consistency method has failed to correct the reflectivity while the combined method has corrected the reflectivity bias reasonably. The correction based on beam simulation showed the underestimation. For evaluation of rainfall estimation, the FBs (FRMSEs) of simulation method and self-consistency principle were -0.32 (0.59) and -0.30 (0.57), respectively. The proposed method showed the lowest FB (-0.24) and FRMSE (0.50). The FB and FMSE were improved by about 18% and by 19% in comparison to those before correction (-0.42 and 0.70). We can conclude that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of rainfall estimation in PBB area.

  • Identifying crosscutting concerns during requirements engineering phase is one of the most essential parts in Aspect-Oriented Software Development. Considering crosscutting concerns in the earlier phase of the development improves consistency among requirements so that it can help maintain software systems efficiently and effectively. It also provides a systematic way to manage requirements changes by supporting traceability throughout the software lifecycle. Thus, identifying tangled and scattered concerns, and encapsulating them into separate entities must be addressed from the early phase of the development. To do so, first, functional and non-functional concerns must be clearly separated. Second, a pointcut where a main concern meets crosscutting concerns should be defined and specified precisely. Third, it is required to detect conflicts being occurred during composition of crosscutting concerns from the earlier phase. Therefore, this paper proposes a systematic approach to identifying and specifying crosscutting concerns using goal-scenario based requirements analysis. And we demonstrate the applicability of the approach by applying it into the intelligent service robot system.

  • There are various methods to trace output in software development to verify the consistency and completeness of requirements. Existing studies do present the trace meta-model or automated tools, but fail to list specifically traced output or traced items. Also, in regards to trace tables, which contain traced items, existing studies don‘t consider the whole software development process but merely its sub-process. Given this, the present study suggests an extended requirements tracetable that tracks output from the inception of the project through the architectural design phase to the application delivery, following up on the researcher’s previous study on a tracetable that considered only a sub-process of the whole development process. In addition, in order to address the problem of the tracking process becoming complicated with increased tracefields due to an extended trace table, the researcher suggests a method for normalizing a requirements tracetable that can integrate and separate by development process phase. Apply it to theH system development project of a D company, and this study caseverified application possibility of study, confirmed an effect of a chase to easily find out an error of requirements. Improve precision of a traceto verify consistency of requirements and completeness through this study, and will minimize failure of a software development.
