Comparison Study for Learning Transfer Factors of the Leadership Training Program in Different Types of Job : Focused on Physicians in Hospitals and Managers in Firms (리더십 교육훈련 프로그램 학습의 현장 전이 비교 연구 : 병원 의사와 기업 관리자를 중심으로)

  • This paper is a comparison study about leadership training transfer factors between physicians working in large scale hospitals and managers working in firms. To fulfill this purpose, this study conducted a regression analysis on 101 managers and 59 physicians who had attended similar leadership training programs more than 16 hours recently in order to identify the differences on the learning transfer factors. 6 factors such as Learner readiness, Performance self-efficacy, (so far as Trainee Characteristics group), Organization Culture, Supervisor's tangible incentives and Supervisor's intangible support, (so far as Work environment group), Content Validity & Transfer Design (so far Training Design group) were used as independent variables while the personal Managerial Capability Increase and Leadership Capability Increase were used as dependent variables. And also we used 5 factors as control variables ; Job style (Manager or Physician), Age, Gender, Working years and Organization size. Here are the summary of major findings ; first, there were statistically significant differences between the learning transfer factors in leadership training programs for managers and those of physicians. Second, there were also statistically significant differences among trainees' working years and their organization size factors while age and gender do not affect the learning transfer factors. Third, for the physician's leadership training the practitioners should focus on two factors ; Organization Culture and Learner readiness.

Effects of Teachers' Personal Backgrounds and Training Experiences on Digital Textbook Usage Competency, Understanding, Recognition of Effectiveness, and Attitude (교사의 개인배경과 연수경험이 디지털교과서 활용역량, 이해수준, 효과성 인식 및 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to understand the effectiveness of teachers' backgrounds and digital textbook training experiences on digital competency, understanding of the digital textbook, perception of the digital textbook effectiveness and attitude toward the digital textbook. A total of 101 valid elementary, middle and high school teachers participated in the survey and the data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical package. As a result, male teachers showed higher digital competency than female teachers. Also, teachers who experienced with digital textbook training understood more about the digital textbook. It was suggested that a newly structured professional development program for the digital textbook considering teachers' personal backgrounds should be developed.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore the prevalence of bullying and to examine the effect of bullying on psychological well-being including depression, self-esteem, and academic major satisfaction among nursing students during clinical training. Methods: Three hundreds one nursing students who were recruited from three universities in D City were assessed with self-report questionnaires of bullying experience and psychological well-being. Data analyses were performed using the SPSS 21.0 program, which included one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple linear regression analyses. Results: More than three quarters of the participants experienced bullying during their clinical training, and their experience of being bullied was a significant predictor of psychological well-being even after controlling for perceived academic performance, relationship between nurses and students, teachers' or nurses' help to deal with bullying, and religion. Conclusion: Bullying was an issue among nursing students during clinical placement. Bullying experience yielded negative psychological outcomes associated with high depression, low self-esteem, and low academic major satisfaction. Practical guidelines are required in nursing education to protect students from the possible harm of bullying in clinical settings during training.

The Personal Software Process(PSP) is a self-improvement process designed to help software engineers control, manage, and improve the way they work. It is a structured framework of forms, guidelines, and procedures for developing software. Properly used, the PSP provides the historical data you need to better make and meet commitments and it makes the routine elements of your job more predictable and more efficient.   • This paper deals with the improving issues and methods for 119 dispatcher's work and training manual in order to improve their emergency response ability in Korea. Firstly, it was investigated and compared on manuals and training methods for the reception of emergency calls between South Korea and the USA. And then, specific improvement methods were considered by questionnaire for 95 dispatchers who work at 119 communication center in Gyeonggi-do in the basis of surveys. As a result, people and equipment related to 119 have been continuously upgraded, however, their work depend on their personal experiences and capabilities but because of the insufficient pretraining for the dispatchers. Also, the manpower is still insufficient overall compared to the work. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the expertise of the dispatchers through the systematic training program and proper training and test standards for 119 dispatchers, and to prevent errors in the logic of the situation and systematize their work by standardizing the response work and arranging appropriate manpower.

  • Investigation about training of Private Security in Korea has managed status of training and understanding of issue mostly, systematic analysis about transfer effect as well as learning and determinant of training is insufficient. Consequently this investigation research to examine the effect of training program for newly appointed private security guards to learning and transfer then, to analyze factor through incumbent private security guard-oriented hypothesis testing under article 13, section 1 of the security guard law. To grasp effect factors of learning and transfer, this dissertation establishes research model and research hypothesis through domestic and foreign studies and then theoretical as well as positive literatures consideration in the first place. Conclusion of this investigation through techniques mentioned above and data analysis is as follows. First of all, the personal characteristics, training characteristics, work environment, difference of transfer as well as learning are verified in accordance with Sociodemographic characterist of Private Security Guard. After then, there is a difference of great import. Secondly, the effect of personal characteristics of Private Security Guard to the transfer is inspected. As a result, there is a difference of significance statistical. Thirdly, the effect of training characteristics of Private Security Guard to the transfer is inspected. Consequently, there is a difference of import statistical. The following thing, subsequent to inspection about the effect of work environment of Private Security Guard to transfer, statistical difference of import is.

Development of a Training Program for Hotel Banquet Service Employees (호텔연회 서비스종사원의 교육프로그램개발을 위한 연구)

  • This study systematically analyzes job descriptions of hotel banquet service employees using DACUM. The expert group involved in the content analysis was comprised of 6 F&B managers working at deluxe level hotels. The period for this study was from May to June in 2010, and a group interview, an individual self fill-out together with a personal interview were carried out. Findings from the analysis were as follows; job duties for hotel banquet service employees extended to pre-task, on-task and post-task for each banquet function, safety management, guest encounter and self development. They included 49 specific job tasks which were divided into 5 different categories; 16 pre-task, 13 on-task, 10 post-task, 4 safety management and 6 guest encounter and self development It is suggested from the findings that advance training should be carried out for pre, on and post tasks.

  • The revitalization of science museum depends on the number of qualified docents who can meet the museum visitors' educational needs. However, the current unstructured docent system is not sufficient to meet the goal. Forty six docents currently working in science museums were surveyed about docent training program, current working conditions, and docent professional program in order to propose a viable system providing a docent profession. Data were collected through surveys with 46 docents, interviews with two experienced docents, and several artifacts from the science museum and selected docents. The surveys consisted of 47 items asking about personal biography, docent's perception, docents training program they took, current working conditions, and supplementary professional program. The conclusion of this study is as follows; First, there must be recognition about docents who can play educator's roles which are different from those of general volunteers in terms of recruiting and training system in science museum. Second, docents need to take training and supplementary professional courses that focus on observing and educating visitors in the field. Third, we need a docent management system by employing a well structured evaluating tools. A well established docent system will bring forth the enhancement of science museum education and the increase of science popularization by providing visitors with the quality educational services.

Efficacy of a Training Program for Long-Term Disease-Free Cancer Survivors as Health Partners: A Randomized Controlled Trial in Korea

  • Background: To determine whether the Health Partner Program is effective in training long-term cancer survivors to be health coaches. Materials and Methods: We randomly assigned cancer survivors who were selected through a rigorous screening process to either the Health Partner Program or the waiting-list control group. The program consisted of 8 weeks of training in health management, leadership, and coaching. At baseline, 8, and 16 weeks, we measured primary outcomes using the Seven Habit Profile (SHP), the Korean Leadership Coaching Competency Inventory (KCCI), Ed Diner's Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and the Posttraumatic Growth inventory (PTGI) and secondary outcomes using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), and the Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) short form 36-item questionnaire (SF-36). Results: We recruited 70 subjects and randomly assigned 34 to the intervention group. The Sharpen the Saw habit of the SHP increased significantly more in intervention group than in the control group (p=0.049), as did most PTGI factors. The intervention group also showed a significantly greater enhancement of vitality (p=0.015) and mental health (p=0.049) SF-36 scores but no improvement in KCCI, SWLS, HADS, or IES-R scores. The intervention group also showed a greater clinically meaningful improvement in the "Think Win-Win" of SHP (p=0.043) and in the personal strength score (p=0.025) and total score (p=0.015) of the PTGI. Conclusions: Long-term cancer survivors can benefit from the Health Partner Program to become health coaches.

Development of Maneuvering Simulator for PERESTROIKA Catamaran using Fuzzy Inference Technique

  • Navigation simulators have been used in many marine schools and manne training centers since the early 1960's. But these simulators were very expens~ve and were almost limited only in one engine system. In this paper, a catamaran with twin engine system. controlled by two remote control levers and its economic simulator based on a personal computer shall be introduced. One of the main features of catamaran is to control variously its progressing direction. In the static state, a catamaran can move into all the directions and in the dynamic state, ship can change immediately the heading and speed. Although a good navigator can skillfully operate one engine system, it is difficult to control smoothly the catamaran of twin engine system without any threat for the safety of passengers. Thus. in order to bring up the expert navigators. the development of a simulator which makes the training effective is necessary, Therefore, in this paper, a Fuzzy Inference Technique based Maneuvering Simulator for catamaran with twin engine system was developed. In general. in order to develop a catamaran simulator for effective training, first of all. its mathematical model must be acquired. According to the acquired system modeling. the dynamics of simulator is determined, But the proposed technique can omit a complex and tedious mathematical modeling procedures by using the fuzzy inference, which dependent upon only experiences of an expert and can design an efficient training program for unskillful navigators. This developed simulator was consisted of two fuzzy inference routines and two remote control levers, and was focused on effective training of navigators for the safe maneuvering to avoid a collision in a harbor.
