Comparative Evaluation of the Analytical Methods used to Determine Pesticide Residues in Milk via Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction (Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction을 사용한 우유 내 잔류농약 다성분 동시 분석법 비교연구)

  • The aim of this study was to optimize a simple, fast, and economic analytical method for the simultaneous determination of various pesticides (aldrin, p,p'-DDT, o,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDE, ${\alpha}$-endosulfan, ${\beta}$-endosulfan, dieldrin, heptachlor, permethrin, chlordane, deltamethrin, diazinon, bifenthrin, methoprene, propargite, fenpropathrin, cypermethrin, fenvalerate, and fenpropathrin) in milk by using dispersive solid phase extraction (SPE). In this study, two different extraction methods (low temperature cleanup and liquid-liquid partitioning), which were followed by a cleanup process based on dispersive-SPE, were evaluated and compared for the 19 pesticides. The results for all the pesticides were determined by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) with selected-ion monitoring mode, and the matrix effect of the method was evaluated. Comparison of these approaches yielded higher and more consistent recoveries of most pesticides at fortification levels of $1{\mu}g/mL$ using low-temperature fat precipitation, followed by cleanup process based on dispersive-SPE with PSA and C18 as sorbents, than other preparation process. The relative standard deviation was <20 % and the combination of this method were very effective for the cleanup.

Monitoring of Pesticide Residues and Preservatives in Cosmetics Using Natural Materials (천연물질 사용 화장품의 잔류농약과 보존제 모니터링)

  • Cosmetics using natural materials which was purchased in retail stores, distributed in Gyeonggi province(32 samples) and online through internet(24 samples) were analyzed by pesticide residues and target preservatives for assessing the safety of it. Natural or organic certifications was identified in 22 samples among 56 samples and most of them were Ecocert. Pesticide residues was detected in 3 samples among 56 samples and each compound and concentration was permethrin(0.6 mg/kg), tricyclazole(11.7 mg/kg) and malathion(0.05 mg/kg). All of it was purchased through internet. Target preservatives was detected in 13 samples among 56 samples and one of them was over the maximum allowed concentration and the rest of them were within the maximum allowed concentration of the respective preservatives. The compound which was over the maximum allowed concentration was benzoic acid and compounds which were within the maximum allowed concentration were sorbic acid, benzoic acid and methylparaben. They were all identified substances in products and the number of detected preservatives in retail stores were higher than online samples purchased through internet. As a result of this study, The method of analyzing pesticide residues and limit in cosmetics using natural materials should be set up as soon as possible and the monitoring about preservatives in cosmetics using natural materials should be conducted on continuously.

Studies on the Zanthoxylum piperitum $D_E$ $C_{ANDOLIE}$ - 1. Pungent principles and Essential oil composition - (천초(川椒)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) - 1. 신미성분(辛味成分)과 정유성분(精油成分) -)

  • The Pungent principles and Essential oil compositions of Zanthoxylum piperitum $D_E$ $C_{ANDOLIE}$(peel, barb) were analysed by HPLC and GC, respectively. Total Pungent principle contents of peels were about as 12 times as those of barks. The Sanshool I, Sanshool IV, Sanshool III and Sanshoo V were the major Pungent principles in the peels and barks. Besides, several Unknown Pungent principles were discovered in the peels and barks, too. Total Essential oil contents of peels were higher than those of barks at the ratio of 1.8 % to 0.5%. The Cineol+Limonene(37.7%) were the main Essential oil compositions in the peels, while ${\alpha}-Terpineol(16.5%)$ and Pinene(15.5%) were the major portion in the barks. The Essential oil of peels and barks were composed Pinen, Myrcene, Cineol+Limonene, Linalool, Isopulegol, Terpinen-4-ol, ${\alpha}-Terpineol$ and Piperitone. Besides, seven Unknown compositions were discovered, too.
