쇄석Mat를 이용한 수평배수공법 설계사례 (Design Example of Gravel Mat for Horizontal Drains)

  • Recently, because of environment, cost, supply and demand factors, though applying sea-sand as horizontal drains is getting difficult that usage of Gravel has been growing in large size of construction sites, Study on engineering properties and behavior characteristics of Gravel stratum is not thoroughgoing enough. We have applied Gravel Mat as the horizontal drains in O O construction site. We also conducted several field tests such as Material property test, Geosynthetics damage test with Repeated load, Discharge capacity test performed by inflow of upper soil and In-situ PBD Penetration test to review the application of Gravel Mat. Test results show that Gravel Mat is not only advantageous in Trafficability and Water drainage by Consolidation due to its great Internal friction angle and Permeability, but also easy to penetrate with Mandrel and has great discharge capacity and guarantee of the stability against geosynthetics damage at the same time. With these benefits Gravel Mat shows great application in fields.

가로경관의 친환경성 증진을 위한 가로변건축물의 생태요소 적용에 관한 연구 - 입체녹화를 중심으로 - (A Study on Ecological Application to Buildings on the Streets for the Improvement of Environmental Harmony at Streetscape - Focused on the Three-dimensional Greenery System -)

  • Recently it is urgent issue in every department that problem from environmental disruption such as global warming. As the case of streetscape works essentially at city scenery, it is inevitable that changing from present view, which centers facilities and buildings, to environmental harmonic scenery. This study plans climate adjusting ability and improvement of thermal efficiency by putting ecological elements to buildings on a street which are essential factors of streetscape. Ultimately, this not only makes a pleasant environment but also revives being withered earth. Street-environment on eco-scape will take a part in designing sustainable city. This study acquires the way how buildings on a street get applied ecological elements as following. Roof level part : the greening surface of the rooftop(included plant box type), the greening roof as a type of pergola, the greening surface of the middle floor rooftop(included plant box type). Elevation part : climbing type, downfall type, espalier, flower bed in balcony type, wall-installing type, water wall type, other design types. Ground level part : paving the whole surface with permeability, paving the gap with permeability, plant box type, ground plant type, waterside zone, wetland, fence greening type, terrace greening type, retaining wall greening type.

양쪽 끝이 열린 원통형 자기 실드캔의 3차원 자계 해석 (3-D Magnetic Field Simulation of Open-ended Cylinder Type Magnetic Shield)

  • 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석을 이용하여서 양쪽 끝이 열린 형상을 가진 원통형 3층 자기 실드를 설계하기 위한 해석을 수행하였다. 원통형 자성체의 투자율 범위 $2{\times}10^3\sim1{\times}10^5$에서 자기 차폐율을 검토하였고, 자성체의 길이 및 각 층간의 길이 차에 의한 자기 차폐율의 변화를 해석하였다. 투자율이 $2{\times}10^4$ 이상이고 각 층의 길이가 40 cm, 45 cm, 50 cm인 경우 -60 dB 이상의 자기 차폐율을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이때의 균일 자계 영역은 $10cm{\times}10cm-\phi$ 이상이었다.

양이온 물질로 오염된 지하수 정화를 위한 반응벽체 개발 : 제올라이트의 적용성 평가

  • Batch test and column test were performed to develop the design factors for PRBs against the contaminated groundwater by ammonium and lead. Clinoptilolite, one of the natural zeolites having excellent cation exchange capacity(CEC), was chosen as the reactive material through the ion-exchange mechanism. In the batch test, the reactivity of Clinoptilolite to ammonium and lead was examined with varying the particle size of Clinoptilolite. The nit weight of Clinoptilolite showed removal efficiencies of 65 % against the ammonium and 98% against lead. The effect of particle size of Clinoptilolite was not noticeable. In the column test, the permeability was examined using flexible-wall permeameters with varying the particle size of Clinoptilolite. When the washed Clinoptilolite having the diameter of 0.42-0.85 nm was mixed with Jumunjin sands in 20:80 ratio (w/w), the highest permeability of 2$\times$10$^{-3}$ -7 x 10$^{-4}$ cm/s was achieved. The reactivity and the strength property of the mixed material were investigated using fixed wall column having 8 sampling ports on the wall and the direct shear test, respectively. Clinoptilolite was found to be a suitable material for PRBs against the contaminated groundwater with ammonium and/or heavy metals.

포화 지층내 영양염류 및 중금속의 제거를 위한 제올라이트의 적용인자 도출 (Development of Nutrients and Heavy Metals Removal Technology in Saturated Zone Using Zeolite)

  • Batch test and column test were performed to develop the design factors for permeable reactive barriers(PRBs) against ammonium and heavy metals, Clinoptilolite, a kind of natural zeolites having excellent cation exchange capacity(CEC), was choosen for the reacting materials through the ion-exchange mechanism. In the batch test, the reactivity of clinoptilolite for ammonium, lead, and copper was examined varying the initial concentration of contaminants(ammonium: 20, 40, 80 ppm, heavy metals: 10, 20, 40 ppm) and the particle size of clinoptilolites(0-0.15, 0.42-0.85, 1-1.25 mm). The reactivity is increasing as the initial concentration decrease and particle size decrease. In the column test, the permeability and the reactivity of the specimens were examined using flexible-wall permeameter. Specimens were made of clinoptilolite and Jumunjin-sand with 20 : 80 weight ratio varying particle size of clinoptilolite. The maximum permeability(1${\times}$10$\^$-4/-5${\times}$10$\^$-5/cm/s) was achieved in the specimen made of 0.42-0.85 mm clinoptilolite and sand.

  • The groundwater heat pump (GWHP) systems have great potential for heating-cooling system which use annual constant groundwater temperature for heat source. Generally, the performance of GWHP system significantly depends on the geological and hydraulic properties such as hydraulic conductivity, thermal conductivity, soil condition so on. Therefore, in order to use GWHP systems efficiently, it is necessary to analyze the effect of design factors on the system performance. However, there are a few researches on the optimum design method for the open-loop geothermal system. In this research, the design factor in the open-loop geothermal system was analyzed quantitatively for the optimal design method by using numerical simulation. As a result, it was found that the temperature change of heat source depends on the design factor.

분포형 레일건 레일에서의 전류분포 및 실효저항 (Current Distribution and Effective Resistance in the Rail of a Distributed-type Railgun)

  • 분포형 레일건은 전기자가 이동하는 공안 전기자전류를 거의 일정하게 유지할수 있으며 전류공급영성과 전기자 사이의 거리를 최소로 유지할수 있게 한다. 이 논문은 분포형 레일건에서 전류분포실효저항 및 전류의 실효확산 깊이에 영향을 미치는 인자를 규명한 것이다. 정상상태의 간단한 2차원 모델로 부터 레일의 전류분포와 실효저항을 나타내는 식을 유도하였다. 전류의 확산이 불충분한 조건에서 레일의 실효저항은 레일의 상대속도, 투자솔, 전기자와 전류공급영성과의 거리의 1/2승에 비례하고 도전솔의 1/2승에 반비례하였으며, 전류의 실효확산 깊이는 전기자와 전류공급영성과의 거리의 1/2승에 비례하고 투자솔, 도전솔 및 속도의 1/2승에 반비례하였다.

Pathophysiology and protective approaches of gut injury in critical illness

  • The gut is a complex organ that has played an important role in digestion, absorption, endocrine functions, and immunity. The gut mucosal barriers consist of the immunologic barrier and nonimmunologic barrier. During critical illnesses, the gut is susceptible to injury due to the induction of intestinal hyperpermeability. Gut hyperpermeability and barrier dysfunction may lead to systemic inflammatory response syndrome. Additionally, gut microbiota are altered during critical illnesses. The etiology of such microbiome alterations in critical illnesses is multifactorial. The interaction or systemic host defense modulation between distant organs and the gut microbiome is increasingly studied in disease research. No treatment modality exists to significantly enhance the gut epithelial integrity, permeability, or mucus layer in critically ill patients. However, multiple helpful approaches including clinical and preclinical strategies exist. Enteral nutrition is associated with an increased mucosal barrier in animal and human studies. The trophic effects of enteral nutrition might help to maintain the intestinal physiology, prevent atrophy of gut villi, reduce intestinal permeability, and protect against ischemia-reperfusion injury. The microbiome approach such as the use of probiotics, fecal microbial transplantation, and selective decontamination of the digestive tract has been suggested. However, its evidence does not have a high quality. To promote rapid hypertrophy of the small bowel, various factors have been reported, including the epidermal growth factor, membrane permeant inhibitor of myosin light chain kinase, mucus surrogate, pharmacologic vagus nerve agonist, immune-enhancing diet, and glucagon-like peptide-2 as preclinical strategies. However, the evidence remains unclear.

콘크리트 표면차수벽형 석괴댐의 침투량 예측 분석 (Prediction of the Seepage Rate of Concrete Face Rockfill Dam)

  • 콘크리트 표면차수벽형 석괴댐의 기초지반을 통한 침투량 예측 방법을 제시하기 위해 침투량에 영향을 주는 수위, 댐 크기, 투수계수 등 다양한 조건을 고려한 수치해석을 실시하였다. 기초 그라우팅과 침투량의 관계에서는 그라우팅 재료의 투수계수와 암반 투수계수의 적정성이 침투량에 영향을 미치는 중요한 인자로 작용하였다. 또한 수치해석 결과 침투량이 초기에는 급격히 감소하다가 댐 면적이 증가함에 따라 완만하게 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 연구 결과를 통하여 다양한 매개변수를 고려한 수치해석 입력인자 및 결과가 댐의 설계 시 중요한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있으며 운영 및 유지관리 단계에서 합리적인 댐의 침투량을 산정하는 방법으로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

pH stress가 Streptococcus mutans의 형질막 유동성 및 atpB 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향 (pH Stress Alters Cytoplasmic Membrane Fluidity and atpB Gene Expression in Streptococcus mutans)

  • 치아우식의 주원인균인 Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans)는 산 생성 뿐 아니라 산에 대한 탁월한 저항성을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 S. mutans가 pH stress에 노출될 때 형질막 유동성, F-ATPase 활성과 발현 및 양성자 투과성 변화와 그 상관관계를 규명하였다. S. mutans로부터 형질막을 분리한 후 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene을 사용하여 pH stress가 형질막 유동성 변화에 미치는 영향을 측정하였다. pH 4.8과 pH 8.8에서 배양한 S. mutans는 pH 6.8에서 배양한 S. mutans에 비하여 형질막 유동성이 감소되었다. F-ATPase 활성과 발현은 pH 4.8에서 가장 높았고, pH 8.8에서 가장 낮았다. 양성자 투과성은 pH 4.8과 pH 8.8에서 모두 감소되었으며, 특히 pH 4.8에서의 감소가 컸다. F-ATPase 활성만으로 양성자 투과성이 결정된다면 pH 8.8에서 가장 높아야 하나 pH 6.8보다 감소하는 것은 형질막 유동성 감소에 기인된 양성자 세포내 유입 감소와 관련된 것으로 추정한다. 또한 pH 4.8에서 양성자 투과성이 아주 낮은 것은 높은 F-ATPase 활성에 의한 양성자 세포외 유출 증가 뿐 아니라 형질막 유동성 감소에 의한 양성자 세포내 유입 감소에 기인된 것으로 추정한다. 따라서 pH stress에 의한 형질막 유동성 감소는 S. mutans가 세포내 pH 를 유지하는데 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 생각되며 에탄올을 포함하여 비특이적으로 세포막 유동성을 증가시키는 약물들은 항우식제에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 추정한다.
