가압고정 기계적이음을 활용한 프리캐스트 콘크리트 구조물의 준정적 및 진동대 실험 (Quasi-Static and Shaking Table Tests of Precast Concrete Structures Utilizing Clamped Mechanical Splice)

  • A new clamped mechanical splice system was proposed to develop structural performance and constructability for precast concrete connections. The proposed mechanical splice resists external loading immediately after the engagement. The mechanical splices applicable for both large-scale rebars for plants and small-scale rebars for buildings were developed with the same design concept. Quasi-static lateral cyclic loading tests were conducted with reinforced and precast concrete members to verify the seismic performance. Also, shaking table tests with three types of seismic wave excitation, 1) random wave with white noise, 2) the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake, and 3) the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake, were conducted to confirm the dynamic performance. All tests were performed with real-scale concrete specimens. Sensors measured the lateral load, acceleration, displacement, crack pattern, and secant system stiffness, and energy dissipation was determined by lateral load-displacement relation. As a result, the precast specimen provided the emulative performance with RC. In the shaking table tests, PC frames' maximum acceleration and displacement response were amplified 1.57 - 2.85 and 2.20 - 2.92 times compared to the ground motions. The precast specimens utilizing clamped mechanical splice showed ductile behavior with energy dissipation capacity against strong motion earthquakes.

L형 케이슨 안벽 구조물의 내진성 평가를 위한 진동대 시험 (Shaking Table Tests for Evaluation of Seismic Performance of L-type Caisson Quay Walls)

  • Shaking table tests and pseudo-static analysis were performed, in this study, on newly-designed aseismatic L-type caisson quay walls, which were constructed by extending the bottom plate of gravity quay walls into the backfill soil. The L-type quay walls are expected to give economical benefits by reducing the cross-sectional area of the wall while maintaining its aseismatic efficiency as much as the classical caisson gravity quay wall. To confirm the effectiveness of the L-type structure, the geometry of L-type quay walls were varied for shaking table tests. And, to verify the influence of backfill soils on the seismic behavior of quay walls, additional shaking table tests were performed on the L-type quay wall after the backfill soils were replaced by gravels and light materials. As a result, it was found that L-type caisson quay walls are good earthquake resistant structures but increasing the length of bottom plate did not proportionally increase the effectiveness of the structure in its aseismatic performance. Replacing the backfill soils by the gravels and light materials, contrary to our expectation, was not an effective measure in improving the seismic performance of L-type caisson quay wall.

  • To evaluate the performance of concentrating solar cookers, a parabolic solar cooker have been designed and constructed. Tests were carried out to define the performance characteristics of concentrating cookers under ambient conditions. The performance and test of the solar cooker were measured and conducted using the international standard procedure that was proposed at the Third World Conference on solar cooking. Stagnation temperature and water heating tests were carried out to determine the maximum temperature attained by the cooker and to evaluate the thermal performance of the cooker. The analysis showed that the solar cooker has maximum cooking power and efficiency 474W, 420W and 41%, 40%, respectively.

Hydraulic performance and flow resistance tests of various hydraulic parts for optimal design of a reactor coolant pump for a small modular reactor

  • Hydraulic performance and flow resistance tests were performed to confirm the main parameters of the hydraulic instrumentation that can affect the pump performance of the reactor coolant pump. The flow resistance test offers important experimental data, which are necessary to predict the behavior of the primary coolant when the circulation of the reactor coolant pump is stopped. Moreover, the shape of the hydraulic section of the pump, which was considered in the test, was prepared to compare the mixed-flow- and axial-flow-type models, the difference in the number of blades of the impeller and diffuser, the difference in the shape of the impeller blade and its thickness, and the effect of coating at the suction bell. Additionally, five models of the hydraulic part were manufactured for the experiments. In this study, the differences in performance owing to the design factors were confirmed through the experimental results.

진동시험에 의한 154kV 변압기 부싱의 동특성 분석 및 내진성능 평가 (Modal Identification and Seismic Performance Evaluation of 154kV Transformer Porcelain Bushing by Vibration Test)

  • 지진과 같은 재난이 발생하였을 때에도 전력설비는 그 본래의 기능을 상실하지 않고 구조적인 안정성을 유지해야 하는 핵심 산업시설물이다. 이 연구는 가장 대표적인 전력설비인 154kV 변압기에 부착된 애자형 부싱의 진동특성과 내진성능을 분석하였다. 연구의 목적에 따라 국내에서 운용하던 실제 154kV 변압기 부싱을 대상으로 30tonf 용량의 진동대를 이용하여 진동시험이 실시되었다. 진동시험은 동특성분석시험과 내진성능시험 그리고 파괴한도시험으로 구분하고, 각각의 시험에는 정현소인파, 인공지진파 그리고 연속공진정현파를 진동대운동으로 입력하였다. 이 논문에는 시험에 사용된 시편과 진동설비의 특성 그리고, 시험 방법 및 종류를 설명하고, 시험 결과 얻어진 계측자료의 특성에 대하여 논의한다. 이 연구를 통하여 국내에서 운용중인 154kV 변압기 부싱은 그 고유진동수가 20Hz 이상인 고진동수 설비이며, 감쇠비는 4%미만인 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 특별한 경우를 제외하고, 변압기 부싱은 국내의 설계기준지진에 대하여 충분한 내진안전성을 보유하고 있으며, 강한 공진운동에 의해 예상되는 부싱의 최초 파괴모드는 하단 개스킷의 파손인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

고강도 및 내진용 철근의 굽힘성능 평가 (Bending performance evaluation of high strength and seismic purpose reinforcing bars)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 구조적 변수에 따른 고강도 및 내진용 이형철근의 굽힘가공 성능을 실험적으로 평가하는데 그 목적이 있다. 굽힘성능에 대한 실험적 연구수행을 위해 이형철근의 강종 및 강도, 직경, 굽힘가공 각도 및 내면 반지름 등을 변수로 하여 시험체를 제작하였다. 시험은 각 변수별 원 소재 철근에 대한 1차 인장강도시험, 원 소재 철근에 대한 1차 굽힘시험과 1차 굽힘시험 철근을 대상으로 한 2차 굽힘시험 그리고 2차 굽힘시험 이후 가력이 가능한 시험체를 대상으로 한 2차 인장강도시험을 수행하였다. 금번 고강도 및 내진용 철근에 대한 실험적 연구결과 항복강도 500 MPa 및 직경 D13 이하 이형철근은 굽힘각도 $135^{\circ}$, 내면 반지름 2db의 경우에도 1차 굽힘가공 후 인장측 표면결함은 나타나지 않았으며, 이형철근의 강도와 직경이 증가할수록 굽힘가공 성능이 저하 하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 본 연구에서 수행된 시험에서는 일반용 철근과 특수 내진용 철근의 시험결과 비교에서 두 이형철근 간에 유의미한 구조적 성능 차이는 확인하지 못하였다.

  • 지진, 홍수, 태풍 등의 자연 재해 및 화재, 테러 등 재난 발생시 현장 상황의 영상을 촬영하여 지휘본부에 위치한 서버에 전송하여 현장상황을 한 눈에 파악할 수 있게 하는 영상관리시스템이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 영상관리시스템 구축에 필요한 성능 요소 정보를 파악하기 위해 와이파이 다이렉트 통신 기반의 애드혹 망 구성 방법을 제시하고 영상관리시스템에 대한 환경 구축을 통해 성능을 평가하였다. 평가한 성능 시험항목은 '영상 압축률 및 영상 크기에 따른 패킷 흐름 시험', '거리에 따른 패킷 흐름 및 트래픽 시험', 'LOS(Line of Sight) 여부에 따른 패킷 흐름 시험', '시나리오 성능 시험'이다.

Performance evaluation of a 400 W precise window motor for glass houses

  • Crop growth and production cost are greatly influenced by management of environmental factors such as ambient temperature, humidity, and $CO_2$, especially in protected horticulture. Opening and closing of greenhouses is the most important operation for control of these ambient environmental factors, and precise and stable operation requires high performance window motors. In this study, a 400 W precise window motor was constructed, and its performance was evaluated for plastic and glass greenhouses. First, the motor was designed and fabricated by benchmarking of an advanced foreign product. Then, the performance was evaluated through vibration, PCB (Process Control Block), and load tests. Vibration tests resulted in averaged vibration displacement and velocity of the developed motor of 0.002 mm and 0.2267m/s, which were statistically significantly different from those of the target motor. Average vibration acceleration ($0.26m/s^2$) of the developed motor was also significantly different from that ($0.51m/s^2$) of the target motor. PCB tests showed 2 - 4 mm deviation from the target values, and confirmed the operating status and precision of the control. Load tests with a 300 kg load also showed acceptable operating status and durability. Current values were $1.31{\pm}0.06A$ and RPMs were in the range of 2.9 - 3.0. Considering the above results, the developed window motor would be competitive to the target foreign product.

유화아스팔트 바인더와 골재 특성이 칩씰 포장의 공용성에 미치는 영향 연구 (Effect of Physical Characteristics of Emulsion Asphalt and Aggregate on Performance of Chip Seal Pavements)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of physical characteristics of emulsion asphalt and aggregate on performance of chip seal pavements. METHODS : In order to evaluate the performance of chip seal materials, the sweep tests and Vialit Plate Shock tests were conducted on the mixtures with five emulsion asphalt binders and three aggregate types. The sweep tests was intended to investigate the change of bonding properties between emulsion asphalt and aggregate with curing time. The Vialit Plate Shock test was used to evaluate the bonding properties of chip seal materials at low temperatures. RESULTS : Results from sweep tests showed that polymer modified emulsion asphalt can reduce the curing time by 1.5 hour comparing with typical emulsion asphalt. It is also found that the Flakiness Index of aggregates and absorption rate of binder are the major factors affecting the bonding properties of chip seal materials. The Vialit Plate Shock test results showed that the average aggregate loss of CRS-2 is ten times higher than CRS-2P No.2 indicating that the use of polymer additives in emulsion asphalt can improve the performance of chip seal materials in low temperature region. CONCLUSIONS : The use of polymer in emulsion asphalt can decrease the curing time of chip seal materials and increase the bonding properties between aggregates and asphalt binder. It is also concluded that the lower Flakiness Index and absorption rate of aggregates can improve the performance of chip seal pavement.
