Purpose: Ethiopia is one of the sub-Saharan countries most affected by high maternal and infant mortality. The government has trained health extension workers (HEWs), the community health workers, to deliver preventive and basic curative health services to community residents in Ethiopia. Very few studies have investigated on-the-job educational effects for HEWs on improvement of their knowledge and performance confidence in maternal and child health care (MCH). This study aimed at identifying the educational effects for HEWs in one health center in Tigray, Ethiopia on improvement of their knowledge in MCH. Methods: Twelve HEWs from 6 health posts participated in this study. A health center officer provided a total of 5 educational sessions on antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, and newborn care from August, 2012 to April, 2013. Ten to 12 items regarding the topics were tested before and after each education. Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to analyze the data. Results: All the HEWs were female with average 4-year working experience. Their knowledge significantly increased after education, except the first session. Their satisfaction on education was greater than 45 points out of 50. Conclusion: This study suggests a focused education for HEWs should continue to improve their capacity on MCH.
Clinical experiment is a set of experience to help student acquire technic, attitude and knowledge by participating in the clinical work. The radiotechnologists who are employed in departments of radiology serve as clinical instructors. Their responsibilities include teaching students them to become competent radiotechnologist. Clinical instructors often have no formal preparation in teaching student. The purpose of this study is to review some principals that will help clinical instructors support and foster the professional development of student radiotechnologists. The clinical instructor should be able to identify the qualities of instructor, the characteristics of feedback and use facillitation skills when is evaluated student performance. And the survey was performed to evaluate the satisfaction of student participated in clinical experiment, the purpose of this research is to fine the problems and improvements in clinical experiment of student radiotechnologist in Korea.

Purpose: The performance of rhinoplasty on the patient who has already undergone unsatisfactory results or complications after augmentation rhinoplasty is a challenging surgical problem. Because the dead space is remained after removal of the foreign body and the thickness of the skin is not even, the deformity would be more conspicuous if the nose is reconstructed again with hard implant only or autogenous cartilage. In these cases, the autogenous fascia can be used to get a good result. We present our clinical experience of secondary rhinoplasty using Scarpa's fascia of lower abdomen. Methods: Thirty-two patients underwent the procedure from March of 2002 to February of 2007. Nine patients were reconstructed with Scarpa's fascia only, eighteen patients were reconstructed with silicone implant and fascia, and five patients were reconstructed with cartilage and fascia for secondary rhinoplasty. Results: There were no major complications. Most of the patients were satisfied with the results. The deviation of the silicone implant and postoperative hypertrophic scar of the donor site were seen in one case each. Postoperative absorption of fascia were seen in two cases using Scarpa's fascia only. Conclusion: Secondary rhinoplasty using Scarpa's fascia is very useful method which offers a minimized donor site scar, low complication rate, shorter operation time and patient satisfaction and prevents the alopecia caused by the harvest of temporalis fascia.

The role of information in knowledge society has changed. Library refers to information centre, which is actively involved information collection and promoting use of for the development of individual and society. Modern libraries are the centres of interaction for all interested in accessing information and in participating in the marathon of the present competitive age. Information and a conducive environment of its free flow is a vital tool in all forms of human endeavour. It is the link pin of national development. For a nation to develop it needs to have and provide relevant, updated and adequate information on food security, health, democracy, population, education, family planning, youth empowerment, gender quality, environment etc. The information intermediaries are the persons to modulate these complexities and find match between the information sources and users needs to satisfaction of Ranganathan's law: Books are for use; Every reader his/her book; Every book its reader; Save the time of the reader; Library is a growing organism. The relative importance of these norms in modern context has been evident from experience, study, observations, discussions, etc., and only by scientists and technologists, but also by managers, planners, and policy makers. They recognize the usefulness of information in the performance of their needs information needs. Libraries are therefore proper management, provision and dissemination of such information. It is clearly visible in the contemporary context, that the libraries in the knowledge society are much more than the book depositories This article looks at the theory/practice divide in library and information science and particularly Ranganathan's contributions, basic statements remain as valid in substance if not in expression as -to-day as when they were promulgated, concisely representing the ideal service and organizational philosophy of libraries today.
This study identifies consumers' perceived benefits and costs when using Samsung Health (a healthcare app) based on consumer reviews from Google Play Store's app and social media discourse. We examine the differences in the benefits and the costs of Samsung Health using these two sources of data. We conducted text frequency analysis, clustering analysis, and semantic network analysis using R programming. The major findings are as follows. First, consumers experience benefits and costs on several functions of the app, such as step counting, device interlocking, information acquisition, and competition with global consumers. Second, the results of semantic network analysis showed that there were eight benefit factors and three cost factors. We also found that the three costs correspond to the benefits, indicating that some consumers gained benefits from certain functions while others gained costs from the same functions. Third, the comparison between consumer app review and social media discourse showed that the former is appropriate to assess the performance of app functions, while the latter is appropriate to examine how the app is used in daily life and how consumers feel about it. The current study suggests managerial implications to healthcare app service providers regarding what they should strengthen and improve to enhance consumers' satisfaction. It also suggests some implications from the two media, which can be mutually complementary, for researchers who study consumer opinions.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge, confidence and coping ability about emergency treatment, and the impact of right knowledge and confidence in practice on coping ability in part of dental hygienists. In addition, we suggest emergency treatment knowledge for develop substantive education program applicable to clinical as required data. Methods: This subjects were 259 dental hygienists working in dental setting Seoul, Gyeonggi-do from June 5 to July 20, 2016. We analyzed the data with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis by using SPSS. Results: Emergencies experienced by a dental hygienist in dental practice were fainting, local anesthetic allergies, and seizures. As a result of comparing the first aid knowledge, self-confidence, coping ability according to general characteristics of the study subjects, university graduation was higher than college and 3~5 years of working experience showed higher self confidence(F=3.837, p=0.023). The performance of self confidence and coping ability according to the characteristics of first aid showed high results in first aid training and dental hygienist having CPR license. Based on multiple regression analysis, confidence about emergency treatment is the biggest impact on coping ability(p<0.05). Conclusions: Dental hygienists need to develop and provide programs that can improve the ability of dental hygienists to respond appropriately and promptly in case of emergencies by recognizing the importance of first aid through conservative education.
This study is about a life history. Through investigating the life of retired teachers in preschool, elementary, and middle schools, authors wanted to explore the meaning of retirement and the process of adaptation to find out their personal and social needs in post-retirement life. Studies have shown that their experiences at childhood have greatly influenced the performance of one's profession, such as contributing to setting limits on behaviors of their students. In the period of interdependence, they have contributed to serving society and the nation beyond as a professional, and in the second half of his teaching career, they have learned that their painful experience was a resource and have realized that changing mind can make the world changed. Since teachers' behavior affects on many subjects unlike other jobs, rewards or satisfaction from the job was bigger than any other jobs. However, after retirement, they felt a sense of emptiness in life without any sense of belonging or accomplishment, while feeling happiness and infinite freedom in other hand. Thy still go forward for life challenging to new study.
The purpose of this study was to establish the role of master gardener coordinators and develop an education program to enhance their job competencies. To analyze and develop the new job of master gardener coordinator, we used the CBC method for curriculum development. The research findings can be summarized as follows. The analysis result of need and importance of education based on the performance level and demand level revealed 20 core competencies, which were classified into organizational education, learning by experience, individual learning, low-priority competencies for program development, with focus on the importance and need for education. The 17 courses are comprised of Eastern and Western Garden History, Understanding of Community Garden, Garden Aesthetics and Environmental Design, Master Gardener's Mission & Management, Garden Plants, and Garden Design and Practice etc. and the curriculum is 33 hours in total. The master gardener coordinator education program was conducted on 73 rural extension workers and the curriculum was evaluated by those who completed the program. The overall satisfaction was 4.29 and 97.1% of the trainees decided that the program would help them perform their duties. The analysis result discovered that all 20 core competencies increased after the program. As a result of conducting contingent valuation to determine the value of the program, willingness to pay (WTP) per hour was KRW 33,223 and the total WTP was KRW 1.096 million, which, when multiplied by 73 participants, is approximately KRW 80.008 million. This is relatively higher than the budget used (KRW 22.943 million), indicating that the program is worth it.

Background and Objectives: Non-linear frequency compression (NLFC) technology compresses and shifts higher frequencies into a lower frequency area that has better residual hearing. Because consonants are uttered in the high-frequency area, NLFC could provide better speech understanding. The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical effectiveness of NLFC technology on the perception of speech and music in patients with high-frequency hearing loss. Subjects and Methods: Twelve participants with high-frequency hearing loss were tested in a counter-balanced order, and had two weeks of daily experience with NLFC set on/off prior to testing. Performance was repeatedly evaluated with consonant tests in quiet and noise environments, speech perception in noise, music perception and acceptableness of sound quality rating tasks. Additionally, two questionnaires (the Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit and the Korean version of the International Outcome Inventory-Hearing Aids) were administered. Results: Consonant and speech perception improved with hearing aids (NLFC on/off conditions), but there was no significant difference between NLFC on and off states. Music perception performances revealed no notable difference among unaided and NLFC on and off states. The benefits and satisfaction ratings between NLFC on and off conditions were also not significantly different, based on questionnaires, however great individual variability preferences were noted. Conclusions: Speech perception as well as music perception both in quiet and noise environments was similar between NLFC on and off states, indicating that real world benefits from NLFC technology may be limited in Korean adult hearing aid users.
The purpose of this study is to find out the effect and possibility of instructional design conducted by integrating writing education and community service activities based on service learning. Service learning is a teaching method that encourages students to improve learning and self-development through experience by applying the knowledge they have learned in college to the real life of the community. After the course was operated, the effectiveness of the teaching method investigated and analyzed for the participating university students, beneficiaries of service, and staffs of service organization. As a result of the study, meaningful results in cognitive, affective, and social aspects were presented for university students, and positive effects and high satisfaction were confirmed for beneficiaries of service and staffs. As a teaching methord that considers the growth and development of students from various angles. the quantitative and qualitative performance analysis and research of service learning should be conducted continuously.
