Physical evaluations provide the basis for an objective and quantitative analysis of the image quality. Nonetheless, there are limitations in using physical evaluations to judge the utility of the image quality if the observer's subjectivity plays a key role despite its imprecise and variable nature. This study proposes a new method for objective and quantitative evaluation of image quality to compensate for the demerits of both physical and subjective image quality and combine the merits of them. The images of chest phantom were acquired from four digital radiography systems on clinic sites. The physical image quality was derived from an image analysis algorithm in terms of the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the low-contrast objects in three regions (lung, heart, and diaphragm) of a digital chest phantom radiograph. For image analysis, various image processing techniques were used such as segmentation, and registration, etc. The subjective image quality was assessed by the ability of the human observer to detect low-contrast objects. Fuzzy integral was used to integrate them. The findings of this study showed that the physical evaluation did not agree with the subjective evaluation. The system with the better performance in physical measurement showed the worse result in subjective evaluation compared to the other system. The proposed protocol is an integral evaluation method of image quality, which includes the properties of both physical and subjective measurement. It may be used as a useful tool in image evaluation of various modalities.

Value Engineering(VE) is an organized effort to create the most value through a functional analysis and creation of alternatives. Depending on the VE job plan, a VE Workshop must be performed in a certain place within a certain period of time. A VE Workshop, which is an organized activity that aims to create the best value through functional analysis and creation of alternatives, should be held in a certain place and at a scheduled time according to the VE job plan. In the Pre-Study, VE Study and Post-Study phases of VE, functional assessments, performance evaluations and idea evaluations are driven by variable management techniques and analysis methods, respectively. Generally, VE is executed for about 3 to 5 days in a particular place to create value. However, there are many problems associated with limiting all VE processes to a specific place and schedule. Moreover, in Korea, VE teams are required to finish all VE processes in a limited time because of the short duration of VE workshops, the necessity of which has been overlooked. Therefore, an efficient VE support system is required to resolve the problem of time and space limitations. In this study, a VE support system based on the Mobile environment was developed to support the VE Workshop process. This VE support system enables participants to review design documents, drawing sheets and all VE-related documents using mobile devices. After the Workshop, participants can conveniently rearrange the result(evaluation of function and ideas) at the workshop. Not only can the members of VE team can review the design documents, drawing sheet and all VE-related documents in the step before the workshop, but also the result(evaluation of function and ideas) of the workshop can be easily rearranged in the phase after the workshop under the developed supporting system using mobile devices.

This paper provides performance evaluations of various channel estimation schemes for Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system under a fixed reception environment. ATSC 3.0 MIMO system can obtain high spectral efficiency and improved reception performance compared to conventional terrestrial broadcasting systems. The ATSC 3.0 MIMO defines Walsh-Hadamard and null pilot encoding algorithms and the amplitude and phase of MIMO pilots are different from those of single-input single-output pilots. At the receiver, linear and discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based interpolations can be used for the channel estimation. This paper provides the various combinations of the interpolation schemes for channel estimation in time and frequency dimensions, and then analyzes the performance of the various combinations through the computer simulation. The results of computer simulation show that the combination of the linear interpolation in the time dimension and then DFT-based interpolation in the frequency dimension can obtain the best performance among the considered combinations.

Recently, the installation of renewable energy including PV systems in distribution systems has increased energetically to cope with climate change and energy shortages according to the government's policy of renewable energy 3020. On the other hand, the electrical performance and lifespan of PV modules installed outdoors can be decreased considerably due to a range of deterioration phenomena depending on the ambient environmental factors. To overcome these problems, replacement of degraded PV modules with new ones is increased before the lifespan guaranteed by the makers of PV modules. Therefore, this paper proposes a disposal diagnosis algorithm to evaluate the time interval of the optimal replacement for PV modules according to performance degradation rate of PV modules. In addition, this study modeled an economic evaluation, which is composed of the cost and benefit of PV systems. From the simulation results based on the proposed modeling and algorithm to consider the performance degradation rate specifically, the replacement approach was found to have the best B/C ratio in 10th year with a 3[%] degradation rate and the disposal diagnosis algorithm of PV modules are useful and practical tools for economic evaluations of the replacement of PV modules.
Objective : This study was designed to determine the effects of sensory integration group therapy with regard to the sensory processing, peer interactions, and task performance, and whether they continue. Methods : Twelve children aged 7 to 13 years enrolled in this study for 60 minutes per session, three times a week for 8 weeks. Sensory integration group therapy consisted of a total of 24 activities that included sensory processing, play skills, and interaction with peers. Short Sensory Profile was used to select subjects. In order to measure the outcome, we used the Short Sensory Profile, Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale and Canadian Occupational Performance Measure at pre, post, and follow-up evaluations. The results were analyzed by means of repeated measures analysis, and the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up tests were compared using the Wilcoxon matched-pair signed rank test. Results : After sensory integration group therapy, sensory processing, peer interaction, and task performance significantly improved(p<.05). In addition, we confirmed that the effects of treatment were maintained in the 4 weeks follow-up test. Conclusion : Sensory integration group therapy is an effective way of mediating effects not only by improving sensory processing skills, but also by providing imitation and training in groups for children in need of peer interaction and linking them to daily life.
Currently, multiprocessors are evaluated almost exclusively with scientific applications. Commercial applications are rarely explored because it is difficult to obtain the source codes of commercial DBMS. Even when the source code is available, such as for POSTGRES, understanding the source code enough to perform detailed meaningful performance evaluations is a daunting task for computer architects. To evaluate multiprocessors with commercial applications, we have developed our own DBMS, called EZDB. EZDB is a parallelized DBMS, loosely inspired from POSTGRES, and running on top of a software architecture simulator. It is capable of executing parallel programs written in SQL. Contrary to POSTGRES, EZDB is not intended as a prototype for a production-quality DBMS. Its purpose is to easily run and evaluate the performance of commercial applications on multiprocessor architectures. To illustrate the usefulness of EZDB, we showed the cache performance data collected for the TPC-B benchmark on a shared-memory multiprocessor. The simulation results showed that the data structures exhibited unique sharing characteristics and that their locality properties and working sets were very different from those in scientific applications.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the predictions of dry matter intake (DMI) and average daily gain (ADG) of Vietnamese Yellow (Vang) purebred and crossbred (Vang with Red Sindhi or Brahman) bulls fed under Vietnamese conditions using two levels of solution (1 and 2) of the large ruminant nutrition system (LRNS) model. Animal information and feed chemical characterization were obtained from five studies. The initial mean body weight (BW) of the animals was 186, with standard deviation ${\pm}33.2$ kg. Animals were fed ad libitum commonly available feedstuffs, including cassava powder, corn grain, Napier grass, rice straw and bran, and minerals and vitamins, for 50 to 80 d. Adequacy of the predictions was assessed with the Model Evaluation System using the root of mean square error of prediction (RMSEP), accuracy (Cb), coefficient of determination ($r^2$), and mean bias (MB). When all treatment means were used, both levels of solution predicted DMI similarly with low precision ($r^2$ of 0.389 and 0.45 for level 1 and 2, respectively) and medium accuracy (Cb of 0.827 and 0.859, respectively). The LRNS clearly over-predicted the intake of one study. When this study was removed from the comparison, the precision and accuracy considerably increased for the level 1 solution. Metabolisable protein was limiting ADG for more than 68% of the treatment averages. Both levels differed regarding precision and accuracy. While level 1 solution had the least MB compared with level 2 (0.058 and 0.159 kg/d, respectively), the precision was greater for level 2 than level 1 (0.89 and 0.70, respectively). The accuracy (Cb) was similar between level 1 and level 2 (p = 0.8997; 0.977 and 0.871, respectively). The RMSEP indicated that both levels were on average under-or over-predicted by about 190 g/d, suggesting that even though the accuracy (Cb) was greater for level 1 compared to level 2, both levels are likely to wrongly predict ADG by the same amount. Our analyses indicated that the level 1 solution can predict DMI reasonably well for this type of animal, but it was not entirely clear if animals consumed at their voluntary intake and/or if the roughness of the diet decreased DMI. A deficit of ruminally-undegradable protein and/or a lack of microbial protein may have limited the performance of these animals. Based on these evaluations, the LRNS level 1 solution may be an alternative to predict animal performance when, under specific circumstances, the fractional degradation rates of the carbohydrate and protein fractions are not known.
This research was performed to evaluate the food waste recovery facility using optimization performance index. In 2014, the generated amount of food waste occupied approximately 27% in total municipal solid waste. The 97.2% of the food waste was recycled and the others were treated through landfill and incineration in the portion of 0.9% and 1.9%, respectively. In food waste recovery facilities of year 2014, the composting and feed facilities were 49.5% and 22.9%, respectively. The feed facility showed higher scores in all technological, environmental, and especially economical evaluations than those of composting facility. As results of overall optimization performance index, the feed facility has higher score of 61.5 than 52.7 of composting facility. It was demonstrated that the feed facility has the advantage, compared with the composting facility.
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation with thiazolidinedione (TZD) on growth performance and meat quality of finishing pigs. In Experiment 1, 80 castrated finishing pigs (Large White${\times}$Landrace, BW = 54.34 kg) were randomly assigned to 2 treatments with 5 replicates of 8 pigs each. The experimental pigs in the 2 groups were respectively fed with a diet with or without a TZD supplementation (15 mg/kg). In Experiment 2, 80 castrated finishing pigs (Large White${\times}$Landrace, BW = 71.46 kg) were divided into 2 treatments as designed in Experiment 1, moreover, carcass evaluations were performed. The results from Experiment 1 showed that TZD supplementation could significantly decreased the average daily feed intake (ADFI) (p<0.05) during 0 to 28 d, without impairing the average daily gain (ADG) (p>0.05). In Experiment 2, the ADG was significantly increased by TZD supplementation during 14 to 28 d and 0 to 28 d (p<0.05) and the feed:gain ratio (F:G) was significantly decreased by TZD supplementation during 0 to 28 d (p<0.05). Compared with the control group, TZD group had significantly higher serum triglyceride (TG) concentration at 28h and serum high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels at 14 d (p<0.05). Moreover, there was an apparent improvement in the marbling score (p<0.10) and intramuscular fat (IMF) content (p<0.10) of the longissimus dorsi muscle in pigs treated by TZD supplementation. Real-time RT-PCR analyses demonstrated that pigs of TZD group had higher mRNA abundance of $PPAR{\gamma}$ coactivator 1 (PGC-1) (p<0.05) and fatty acid-binding protein 3 (FABP3) (p<0.05) than pigs of control group. Taken together, these results suggested that dietary TZD supplementation could improve growth performance and increase the IMF content of finishing pigs through regulating the serum parameters and genes mRNA abundance involved in fat metabolism.

Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of diets containing different wet rice distillers' by-product (RDP) levels on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, blood profiles and gut microbiome of weaned piglets. Methods: A total of 48 weaned castrated male crossbred pigs, initial body weight 7.54±0.97 kg, and age about 4 wks, were used in this experiment. The piglets were randomly allocated into three iso-nitrogenous diet groups that were fed either a control diet, a diet with 15% RDP, or a diet with 30% RDP for a total of 35 days. Chromium oxide was used for apparent digestibility measurements. On d 14 and d 35, half of the piglets were randomly selected for hemato-biochemical and gut microbiota evaluations. Results: Increasing inclusion levels of RDP tended to linearly increase (p≤0.07) average daily gain on d 14 and d 35, and decreased (p = 0.08) feed conversion ratio on d 35. Empty stomach weight increased (p = 0.03) on d 35 while digestibility of diet components decreased. Serum globulin concentration decreased on d 14 (p = 0.003) and red blood cell count tended to decrease (p = 0.06) on d 35, parallel to increase RDP levels. Gene amplicon profiling of 16S rRNA revealed that the colonic microbiota composition of weaned pigs changed by inclusion of RDP over the period. On d 14, decreased proportions of Lachnospiraceae_ge, Ruminococcaceae_ge, Ruminococcaceae_UCG-005, and Bacteroidales_ge, and increased proportions of Prevotellaceae_ge, Prevotella_2, and Prevotella_9 were found with inclusion of RDP, whereas opposite effect was found on d 35. Additionally, the proportion of Lachnospiraceae_ge, Ruminococcaceae_ge, Ruminococcaceae_UCG-005, and Bacteroidales_ge in RDP diets decreased over periods in control diet but increased largely in diet with 30% RDP. Conclusion: These results indicate that RDP in a favorable way modulate gastrointestinal microbiota composition and improve piglet performance despite a negative impact on digestibility of lipids and gross energy.
