Active Control of External Noise Radiated From Duct Using Sound Intensity (음향 인텐시티를 이용한 관 외부 방사 소음의 능동 제어)

  • Mean active intensity based active control for the cancellation of radiated noise out of the duct exit is studied. The active intensity control strategy is drerived based on the relation of the exterior sound field out of the duct termination and interior sound field of the duct. One of the characteristics of this control strategy is that the control performance can be maintained regardless of the sensor loction, compared with the conventional local pressure control methods at either interior downstream or exterior field positions. It is also suggested that the digital filtering for the active intensity control can be achieved by time-domain filtered-x LMP (Lest-Mean-Product) adaptive algorithm. Experiments for an open-ended duct are performed to compare the active intensity control performance with conventional pressure control one. Active control experiment of local sound pressure is conducted by widely used filtered-x LMS adaptive Algorithm and active intensity control implementaion uses the derived filter d-x LMP algorithm. It is shown that the exterior sound fileds was much better observable by sensing of the active intensity than by just sound pressure. It is also demonstrated that the global control performance of external field by acoustic intensity is superior to the conventional sound pressure control performance.

Robust Design of Main Control Valve for Hydraulic Pile Hammer Flexible Control System

  • The flexible control system for hydraulic pile hammer using main control valve is present to the requirement of rapidly reversing with high frequency. To ensure the working reliability of hydraulic pile hammer, the reversing performance of the main control valve should commutate robustness to various interfere factors. Through simulation model built in Simulink/Stateflow and experiment, the effects of relative parameters to reverse performance of main control are analyzed and the main interfere factors for reversing performance are acquired. Treating reverse required time as design objects, some structure parameters as control factors, control pressure, input flow and gaps between spool and valve body as interfere factors, the robust design of the main control valve is done. The combination of factors with the strongest anti-jamming capability is acquired which ensured the reliability and anti-jamming capability of the main control valve. It also provides guidance on design and application of the main control valve used in large flow control with interferes.

The Effects of Education According to Constitution & Character of Patients Who have Stroke (뇌졸중 환자의 체질별 건강통제위 성격별 자가간호에 대한 교육의 효과)

  • This study was designed to explore the effectiveness of education to improve self-care of stroke patients with three types of charactor health locus of control and constitution. A total of 56 patients were selected by convenience sampling at one oriental hospital. The teaching of self-care was conducted by the researcher. The self-care performance was measured for 10 days. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe method as post hoc test. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The self-care performance by patients' characteristics : Age and education had impact on the self-care performance. The level of self-care performance of young and high educated patients was high, gender, religion, occupation, monthly income, and the paralyzed side, however, didn't have influence on the self-care performance. 2. The self-care performance of patients with three types of constitution : There was no statistical significance on the self-care performance of patients group by constitution. However, average score of self-care performance of patients with So-Um was high. 3. The self-care performance of patients with three types of health locus of control : There was no statistical significance on self-care performance of patient group by health locus of control. 4. The correlation between the constitution and the health locus of control : There was no statistical significance on the introverted and chance health locus of control of patients with three types of constitution. However, there was a statistically significant relationship between the powerful others health locus of control and So-Yang. Even though there was no statistically significant self-care performance of patients with So-Um, there was a clinical significance on the high score of self-care performance of patients with So-Um as compared with the self-care performance of the patients. The health locus of control didn't have influence on the self-care performance of patients. There was a statistically significant relationship between the powerful others health locus of control and So-Yang. Therefore, this study suggest the need to develop the nursing intervention to improve the self-care of stroke patients with the powerful others health locus of control and So-Yang, Furthermore, the longitudinal research is needed to determine the effectiveness of training to imp

Recent trends in advanced flight control

  • The development of future aircraft that involves the expanded flight envelop will place increased performance requirements on the design of the flight control system. Maneuvering areas are expanding into flight envelopes characterized by significantly larger levels of modeling uncertainty than encountered in present flight control designs. Conventional flight control techniques that ignore the effects of large parameter variations, modeling uncertainties and nonlinearities, will likely produce designs with poor performance and robustness. Recent advances in modern control theories called advanced control theories, most notably the H$\_$.inf./ synthesis technique, adaptive control and neural network application, offer the promise of a design technique that can produce both high performance and robust controllers for next generation aircraft. This special lecture will survey the recent development in advanced flight control and review the possible application of advanced control theories.

  • The turbofan engine performance analysis for a medium scale commercial aircraft was carried out and the LQR control scheme for performance optimization was studied. By using scaled component maps from well-known CF6 engine characteristics, the steady-state performance analysis result was compared with BR715-56 engine performance data. The transient performance analysis was performed with four fuel schedules. The linear simulation was done at the maximum take-off condition. The real time linear simulation was performed by interpolation of the system matrices, which used the least square method as the function of LPC rotational speed. By using linear system matrices of design point, the LQR controller which used control variables for the fuel flow and the LPC bleed air was designed.

The Relationship between Empowerment and Performance of Infection Control by Emergency Department Nurses (응급실 간호사의 임파워먼트와 감염관리 수행도의 관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between empowerment and performance of infection control by emergency department nurses. Method: Participants were 190 nurses working in emergency departments in 14 hospitals located in Busan. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients with SPSS PC+ WIN 12.0 were used to analyze the data. Results: There were significant differences in empowerment by years in ED (emergency departments) and position. There was a significant differences in performance of infection control by position. There were significant differences in empowerment by infection control-related characteristics and by regular conference for infection control. There was a significant and positive relationship between empowerment and performance of infection control in ED nurses. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that improvement in the level of ED nurse's empowerment would lead to an increase in the performances of infection control.

Field Oriented Control of an Induction Motor in a Wide Speed Operating Region (벡터제어(制御) 유도전동기(誘導電動機)의 광역운전(廣域運轉))

  • This paper describes a control for the high performance induction motor drive system with a wide speed operating range and proposes a robust control method independent of motor parameter variation. For the operation below the rated speed, the high performance control is achieved by using the indirect field-oriented control with a speed sensor. In the high speed regain, the field weakening region with a large variation in motor parameters, the motor drive system can obtain the robustness to motor parameter variation by switchover to the direct field-oriented control. Also, the sensorless speed control using estimated speed is achieved in very high speed region that the utilization of speed sensor pulses is limited. And from experiments using high performance 32bit DSP for 2.2[kW] and 22[kW] laboratory induction motor drive systems, it is verified that the proposed opration algorithm provided a good performance.

Robust Vibration Control for a Building with Parameter Uncertainty (파라미터 불확실성을 고려한 건물의 견실 진동 제어)

  • In this paper, we design a vibration control system that includes a 3-D.O.F. mass-spring-damper structure for the analytical model of a building that is excited at the base of this structure by an external dynamic force, and one Active Mass Damper(AMD) on the top of this structure to generate control forces fro attenuation of the structural response. Two robust controllers based on $\mu$-synthesis and H$\infty$ optimal control are designed for the structural system to show that the performance of a control system can be degraded by some parameter uncertainties such as mass, stiffness coefficients, and/or damping coefficients. The performance of the two controllers are compared in terms of nominal performance, robust stability and robust performance by simulations.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of various control strategies in commercial buildings which have been operated by the variable air volume (VAV) system. Two buildings in Seoul were chosen for the field study. The one (D building) combined by LonWorks has the constant airflow of supply fan and the proportional control of VAV units (damper type). The other (S building) combined by DDC has the PI control mode of the supply fan and the floating control of VAV units (venturi type). In estimating thermal comfort and energy performance through control modes of PI, PID, and CAV in the supply fan, we could identify several energy efficient operating control strategies for the VAV system.

  • This paper investigates control algorithms for a doubly fed induction generator with a back-to-back three-level neutral-point clamped voltage source converter in medium voltage wind power system under unbalanced grid conditions. Control algorithms to compensate for unbalanced conditions have been investigated with respect to four performance factors; fault ride-through capability, instantaneous active power pulsation, harmonic distortions, and torque pulsation. The control algorithm having zero amplitude of torque ripple shows the most cost-effective performance concerning torque pulsation. The least active power pulsation is produced by control algorithm that nullifies the oscillating component of the instantaneous stator active and reactive power. Combination of these two control algorithms depending on the operating requirements and depth of grid unbalance presents most optimized performance factors under the generalized unbalanced operating conditions leading to high performance DFIG wind turbine system. The proposed control algorithms are verified through transient response in the simulation.
