A bidirectional full duplex medium access control protocol for underwater acoustic networks (수중 음향 네트워크를 위한 양방향 전이중 매체 접속 제어 프로토콜)

  • In this paper, we propose a bidirectional full duplex MAC (Medium Access Control) protocol for underwater acoustic networks. An underwater sensor node can set a back-off timer according to the priority of transmission. When the back-off timer expires, the underwater sensor node acquires a transmission opportunity. If a source node wants to send data to a destination node, it broadcasts RTS (Request-To-Send) including ID of the destination node to neighbor nodes. The destination node receiving RTS sends CTS (Clear-To-Send) to the source node to inform the bidirectional full duplex communication. After the source node receives CTS, the source node and the destination node can send the data to each other. In the underwater environment, the existing MAC protocol may take a lot of time for successful transmission of data due to long underwater propagation delay. On the other hand, the proposed bidirectional full duplex MAC protocol improves the throughput by shortening the time for successful transmission of data. In this paper, we analyze the throughput of the proposed bidirectional full duplex MAC protocol. In addition, we show that the proposed bidirectional full duplex MAC protocol has better performance in the presence of the long underwater propagation delay compared with existing MAC protocols for underwater environments.

Method of Detecting and Isolating an Attacker Node that Falsified AODV Routing Information in Ad-hoc Sensor Network (애드혹 센서 네트워크에서 AODV 라우팅 정보변조 공격노드 탐지 및 추출기법)

  • In ad-hoc sensor network, AODV routing information is disclosed to other nodes because AODV protocol doesn't have any security mechanisms. The problem of AODV is that an attacker can falsify the routing information in RREQ packet. If an attacker broadcasts the falsified packet, other nodes will update routing table based on the falsified one so that the path passing through the attacker itself can be considered as a shortest path. In this paper, we design the routing-information-spoofing attack such as falsifying source sequence number and hop count fields in RREQ packet. And we suggest an efficient scheme for detecting the attackers and isolating those nodes from the network without extra security modules. The proposed scheme doesn't employ cryptographic algorithm and authentication to reduce network overhead. We used NS-2 simulation to evaluate the network performance. And we analyzed the simulation results on three cases such as an existing normal AODV, AODV under the attack and proposed AODV. Simulation results using NS2 show that the AODV using proposed scheme can protect the routing-information-spoofing attack and the total n umber of received packets for destination node is almost same as the existing norm at AODV.

  • Recently, advancements in artificial intelligence and computer graphics technology have led to the emergence of various virtual humans across multiple media such as movies, advertisements, broadcasts, games, and social networking services (SNS). In particular, in the advertising marketing sector centered around virtual influencers, virtual humans have already proven to be an important promotional tool for businesses in terms of time and cost efficiency. In Korea, the virtual influencer market is in its nascent stage, and both large corporations and startups are preparing to launch new services related to virtual influencers without clear boundaries. However, due to the lack of public disclosure of the development process, they face the situation of having to incur significant expenses. To address these requirements and challenges faced by businesses, this paper implements a photogrammetry-based facial capture system for creating realistic virtual humans and explores the use of these models and their application cases. The paper also examines an optimal workflow in terms of cost and quality through MetaHuman modeling based on Unreal Engine, which simplifies the complex CG work steps from facial capture to the actual animation process. Additionally, the paper introduces cases where virtual humans have been utilized in SNS marketing, such as on Instagram, and demonstrates the performance of the proposed workflow by comparing it with traditional CG work through an Unreal Engine-based workflow.

Communication and Enjoyment of Sijo through the Mass Media in the First Half of the 20th Century (유성기음반과 라디오방송을 통해 향유된 시조의 양상과 특징)

  • Music was made popular through the modern mass media. Nonetheless, if a period of high standard performances and appreciation by a minority of culture connoisseurs can be qualified with the expression "gentrification of culture", then a period when anyone can access culture through the mass media can be qualified with the terms "popularization of culture" and in this period the reorganization of performance culture can only be driven by the public. In fact, the Jabga, which is a type of traditional song that received strong public adhesion by means of phonograph records and radio broadcasts at the time, stands as a typical example to it. Gagok and Sijo up until the 1920s and even the 1930s are believed to engage actively in the changing media environment and the new modes of music enjoyment and transmission. The Album recording of faster rhythm music and the inclusion of the Sijo, Jabga, and folk songs in one broadcast programme can be seen as reflecting such an effort. However, it can only be hard for the Sijo and Gagok to challenge the predominance of the Jabga which made its lyrics more popular and the new songs written in accordance with the new media environment. Until the 1930s in this changing environment of music enjoyment, Gagok and Sijo performers rather sought to distinguish themselves from the existing popular song style by reproducing traditional forms. The album recording and broadcasting of Lee Wangjik Aakbu, the beginnings of local singers, the participation of male performers not only contributed to the diversification the enjoyment culture of songs and sijo, but also made the 'difference in standard' with the popular songs even more salient.
