The pollen morphology of 31 taxa, representing all woody species from 12 genera of Fabaceae in Korea, was examined by light microscope and scanning electron microscope. The pollen grains were monad and prolate spheroidal or rarely subprolate in equatorial view. The pollen grain aperture was trizonocolporate or rarely trizonooperculate, which does not occur in the other families of Fabales in Korea. The exine showed a great variety of sculpture pattern, i.e. psilate, microperforate, densely microperforate, perforate, polygonal perforate, macroperforate, macroperforate with granules in holes, polygonal macroperforate, verrucate with pitted perforate striae, verrucate-perforate, granulate, rugulate, reticulate or refined reticulate. The pollen morphological data supported the idea that the genera Echinosophora and Sophora were congeneric. Caragana (Galegeae) was quite close to the Sophora group (Maackia, Sophora and Echinosophora) of the Sophoreae in each measured pollen parameter and exine sculpture pattern. Eleven genera of Fabaceae were recognized based on differences in aperture type, pollen grain shape and exine pattern, and a generic pollen key of the woody Fabaceae in Korea was developed. A key to pollen types of Lespedeza was also suggested. The examined taxa of Coronilla and Wisteria were recognized by their exine patterns.
In an fuel injection type gasoline engine, atomization of fuel droplet and mixture formation process are very important to understand engine combustion efficiency, and also has influence directly on the decision of engine performance and pollutant emission. In this study, perforated throttle valve instead of solid type throttle valve was developed and equipped to an SPI engine to promote secondary atomization and good droplet-air mixture formation. From the engine performance lest. it was verified that the case of perforated valve kas more advantages in each experimental parameters such as in cylinder gas pressure, mass burnt ratio, fuel consumption rate, and pollutant emission characteristics than that of solid one equipped. No matter what the same perforated valve, there are some distinct results in engine performance characteristics according to the perforate ratio.

Based on ISO 7235, an experimental setup to measure the acoustic performance of splitter type dissipative silencers was fabricated. The length of each duct, sound source, microphone locations, modal filter, and anechoic termination were considered in the design of this setup. The modal filter is a particularly important factor because it affects the limit of measurement. The effects of number of splitters, absorptive material density, perforate plate, and media on the noise reduction of the sample silencers were experimentally investigated. The experimental results show that the insertion loss of a silencer with media, high perforate opening, and higher number of splitters increases especially at higher frequencies.

The loss coefficient of the butterfly valve which allows partial opening of the valve at closed position and is applicable to the small-sized pipe system with the diameter of 1 inch was measured for the variation of the valve disk blockage ratio. Two different types of the valve disk configuration to adjust the blockage ratio were considered. One was the solid type valve disk of which the diameter was changed into the smaller size rather than the pipe diameter, and the other was the perforate type valve disk on which some holes were perforated. The results from two types of valve disk were compared to identify their characteristics in the loss coefficient distributions. The loss coefficient and the controllable angle of the valve disk were decreased exponentially with the decrease of the blockage ratio. In addition, the perforate valve disk had the effect on the higher loss coefficient rather than the solid type valve disk.
Pollen morphology of 20 species of Euphorbioideae and one from Crotonoideae was examined with light, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The pollen morphology presented here did not support the monophyly of Euphorbioideae, and the unique characters of tribe Stomatocalyceae such as absence of aperture margins, and thick and continuous endexine suggest the exclusion of Stomatocalyceae from Euphorbioideae which is in accordance with previous phylogenetic studies and wood anatomical data. Aforementioned pollen features in this tribe support that it is closely related to Acalyphoideae. Two subtribes of Stomatocalyceae were well recognized in terms of pollen morphology: Hamilcoinae includes species with reticulate or microreticulate exine patterns, and Stomatocalycinae includes those with perforate patterns with small supratectal elements. Three subtribes of Euphorbieae, classified in terms of pollen morphology, were further divided into three different types including perforate in Euphorbiinae, microreticulate in Neoguillauminiinae and reticulate in Anthosteminae, strongly supporting the Webster's subtribal system. Hureae and Hippomaneae, having perforate sculpturing pattern with smooth margo, were similar in pollen morphology. Especially, the presence of small supratectal elements in Hura crepitans pollen suggests the close relationships with Excoecaria species of tribe Hippomaneae. According to the previous studies, unique intine thickness along the aperture margin in Euphorbieae was not reported elsewhere in Euphorbiaceae. However, in this study we found the same intine thickness along the aperture margin in Maprounea brasiliensis and Hura crepitans. We hypothesize that the similar intine thicknesses found in Euphorbieae and above two species are the evidence of close relationships among them.

The crossing construction under railroad have two methods which are cut and cover and trenchless method. First, cut and cover method is an extremely limited method concerning non-running time. Whereas, trenchless method is free from restriction such as train speed and running time, and has the strong points of safe and rapid construction. Front Jacking method, one of the trenchless methods, is frequently applied recently due to its stability during construction and vantage of assuring schedule reliability. The procedure is that after minimizing interlocking friction with structure and earth pressure due to jacking the small steel tube, pulling the precast box manufactured at the field in the ground using PC strand and hydraulic Jack. This method is able to be applied regardless of section size and length of box and condition of soil. And that is also pro-environmental. This paper presents the case of Daejeon E. W. perforate Road Project applied with the Front Jacking method.
In a fuel injection engine, atomization of liquid fuel and mixture formation process has influenced(or affected) directly on the engine performance and pollutant emission. In this study, the characteristics of fuel spray and the behaviors of secondary atomization developed at the downstream of the valves were investigated using an image processing method. Solid and perforated valves are chosen in order to evaluate the valve performance in terns of air flow rate, valve opening angle and valve shape. Experimental results clearly indicate that the spray atomization quality can be improved by increasing the perforated rat io and the blockage rat io in the perforated valve, the characteristics of spray atomization is improved by using the perforated valve with high perforated rat io and blockage ratio.
Finely atomized fuel droplet and good mixed mixture plays very important in improving combustion efficiency in an spark ignition engine. And combustion efficiency has influence directly on the engine power, fuel consumption rate and pollutant emission. In this study, perforated throttle valve which has relatively low value of PR has been developed and studied for the purpose of improving those aims. As a result of this study, it has been verified that the perforated throttle valve makes droplet more finely, and also proved that has a function of contributing to form good mixed mixture, especially in mixture preparation system of carburetor or SPI type spark ignition engine.

The behaviors of the mixture at the downstream of throttle valve in a TBI type gasoline engine plays a greater role in design of intake system. A good mixture has been influencing directly not only on the engine power but also on the pollutant emission. The mixture flow in an intake manifold is very complex, and the flow characteristics are varied with the valve type, valve angle, inlet air flow rate, and the other flow factors. Three kinds of valve are chosen in this study, and the informations of the mixture flow are observed experimentally using a PIV apparatus. Perforate valve has a smaller recirculation zone than the case of solid valve with a lower valve loss coefficient, and iti is verified that the perforated valve is also suitable to control the flow rate in a mixture flow system.
Colonic atresia is the least common form of intestinal atresia. Colonic atresia, like jejunoileal atresia, mostly occurs as a result of an intrauterine vascular accident. According to Sutton's classification, type 1 colonic atresia exibits external continuity with an intraluminal diaphragm(colonic web) which may be imperforate or perforate. Authors experienced a case of colonic web associated with imperforate anus. The patient was treated under the impression of the high type imperforate anus. Posterior sagittal anorectoplasty at the age of 9 months revealed normal anorectal canal. At the age of 12 months, colostomy was repaired. Thereafter abdominal distension was developed. Barium enema noted a membranous obstruction of the colon on the level of the rectosigmoid junction. After exicision of the colonic web, the patient was discharged with no problem.
